Since the AEM UEGO wideband units seem to log incorrectly in ECMLink you've got to log LinearWB and set it up yourself. This video specifically shows how its done on a Speed Density setup however, it's the same idea when doing it on a MAF setup.

Went to Auto Club Speedway on Sept. 18th to see what my new turbo setup could do after going up on the dyno at RRE. In the video the Eclipse is running an Forced Performance HTA68 on a stock 7 bolt bottom end and transmission running 28 psi on E85 with street tires

my first 1/4 mile pass and without my car tuned
2gb bumpers got him into the 11s, nice 👍
I struggled with this tremendously, and this video you made set me straight. Thank you so much!
This has been very helpful. Thank you
Does this still apply if the car is locked in open loop? Previous owner replaced front o2 with UEGO and I feel like the gauge is off with what Link is showing.
ECMLink can simulate the narrowband front o2 sensor even when it's replaced with the WB, search ECMLink wiki on setting this up. It still applies even if you run your car locked in OL because you need your gauge to log accurately if you depend on tuning AFR's based on your logs.
good driving !
Will this still accurately log below 11.0 and above 14.7?
MindBlowin03 Depends on what you consider accurate, but it should log within .1 to .5 outside of 11 and 14.7 range that you're scaling it to. Thats the point though, you NEED it to log accurately for WOT tuning not when the cars leaned out on decel.
Corey Jenson I agree. I just wanted to make sure if I'm a little rich at WOT it's going to read correctly. Honestly, as long as it's accurate near 11.0 I'll be happy.
MindBlowin03 I made the video for a friend running 91 so if you're tuning E85 you can scale it for a leaner AFR too. Or, if you're running 91 and want it conservative scale it from 14.7 to 10.5. Its whatever fits your build!
How much did the build cost to the time of this video being made.
Looking at my mods list in the description of the video at the time, Brandonn, I was probably close to $8k - $9k since I did a AWD and 5-speed conversion. If my car was already AWD and 5-speed I'd have been closer to $7k. I also bought the car 100% stock in 2006 and it took me 4 years to get to this point...
do you have to hook up the afr wiring to the rear, i just installed my innovate wideband on its own power, my car still uses factory upper/downstream o2 sensors. can i still tune the car that way??
yenyen33089 it will work fine but you can't log it in ECMLink unless you use a sensor input.
Corey Jenson im new to link and well kinda lost to tuning..my set up is new rods and piston (wiseco) 2nd oversize 2600cc bosch injectors gt3788r bb garretr turbo 3in all the way back with electric cut out 272 intake/exhaust with aem cam gears ferrea intake/exhaust valves 320lph pump with inline aeromotive external pump car fires up and runs, no check engine idle afr is 11. .just dont know where to start with speed density.. sorry for long reply 😉
Why do you want the car to idle at 11afr? I followed your directions and got my car idling at 14.7 shows that ratio on link and the gauge
IAN LUPINI because you don't tune your WOT AFRs to 14.7, it doesn't matter if the gauge reads/logs accurately at idle if it's inaccurate when it matters most... at WOT and under full boost.
Alright well I'm having to richen the 5.5-1000 cell to 80.0 just to idle at 13. Do I need to go higher or have I messed something up?
...the cells go to 100+. It's only temporary to get the voltage reading of the gauge when it's displaying 11:1. Once you get that voltage then you reset your idle cells to get it to idle at 14.7:1 and reactivate closed loop control.
Corey Jenson ohh okay! Thank you for all the help!
Holy crap you still have this Corey?! Btw how's it been you still live in SD?
Haha. Yea, still have it dude. I live in Phoenix now. How have you been?!
I've been good bro just building a simple Ae86 project due to the fact I have a little family now haha good to hear that you still have it! Still by far my favorite dsm's!
That's awesome, I've always liked those AE86's but have rarely seen them let alone had the opportunity to buy one. You have a build thread for it that I can check out?
Corey Jenson I am going to have to make a build thread but for now the project is sitting haha but so far I have swapped a ka24de into it and I am just buttoning up the fuel lines.
Sick
Dick Sucking Motors!! J/K I love DSM's so much i've owned 2 of em lol
Use obs free and no limits.
awesome car and video. my 7 bolt 1gb is hanging in there I can't wait to get this turbo on there.
+Joe Kerry Thanks. That new HTA68 is rated for more airflow than the one I'm running, you should be able to click off low 11's with it.
But my car only has headstuds. I'm under50k226 on dsmtuners. I just cant wait to get into the boost again. My goal was to run low 13s up here and make about 325 to the tires. I was going through your thread; its really impressive man; lots of work and dediecation.
What's your set up ? Nice car
botched that second one huh.. Nice runs man
+jkonn7 botched all of them, I don't think I had a sub 2.0 60' that day. Doesn't seem possible but the issues I was having launching the last few years were because of running NLTS in ECMLink. There's nothing wrong with NLTS but if you have it wired into the cruise control switch on the clutch pedal (which is at the top of the pedal) as soon as you launch and RPM's drop a little the ECU will automatically enable NLTS and shut off the injectors to maintain that RPM. If you haven't installed NLTS yet, do it off the clutch safety switch at the bottom of the pedal.
great job
Where u get that lambda table?
+MrNeuro Funk It's in the AEM UEGO manual that comes with the gauge, here's a .pdf version of one though if you lost it. Page 7. aemelectronics.com/files/instructions/30-4110%20Digital%20Wideband%20UEGO%20Gauge.pdf
+Corey Jenson thanx
Hey is this gopher? Was looking at the bracket modifications needed for the brembos and noticed you had them on the fronts. thought that dsm looks reeeeeeallll familiar lol. Read the description with the brake booster and cylinder you were adamant about and think I finally found your youtube page. Looks so sweet!
+Corey Jensen what 90 hose is that for your NA TB?
+josh goot I bought it off siliconintakes.com. it's just a 90 degree bending reducer.
How much boost are you are running? I have pretty much the same setup on my talon, although I will be running meth injection. My turbo is coming tomorrow :) I was second guessing buying it but seeing solid 11's on it is great and on the stock 7 bolt is even better, I was worried about blowing the motor which is why for now I went with the 68 instead of RED series turbo until i can do the bottom end. Do you have a aftermarket crank pulley?
strazdice Boost was spiking to 29psi and settling to 24psi by 7.5k. This video is from 2010, currently I'm trapping 127mph and trying to figure out my launch to run low 11's. It's a good turbo, perfect for street driving and still flows enough for respectable 1/4 times. This video the crank pulley was stock... If you're interested in the complete build here's my build thread. www.dsmtuners.com/threads/97-eclipse-awd-gs-t-2006-to-present.419855/
Corey Jenson Excellent, thank you sir. Hell of a pass, Im in the same boat with the launch and im trying to figure that out as well. I tried doing a 4-4500 launch and no luck, went off the line and bogged down. I held the clutch in a bit at 2500 or so launch and that shot me out of the hole but still delay there as well of course and beating the clutch besides. This was all before the current work im doing.
I don't have a DSM yet but man... This video makes me want one even more! Nice car man keep it up!
nice!
does anybody know if a 1g awd drivetrain will bolt up to a 2g engine and body?
No, it won't.
is the rear end different too or will it fit?
yes
That was before you woke up! Lol
No way I didnt know you were a local. I live in casa grande. We will have to meet up next track night. I just picked up a 95 awd talon. And used your aem wb video worked great
Became a local just over a year ago. My last trip to the track before the heat hits is going to be this Friday, April 25th. Test and tune runs from 6pm to 12am $10 to watch / $30 to race. Glad the video helped. In the end I got rid of my AEM WB as soon as the opportunity presented itself, wish I would have just jumped ship right away and bought an MTX-L or LC-1 to begin with.
Corey Jenson nice bro won't make tomorrow. I rotate weekends and this is my weekend to work. Will be switching over to. Innovate has amber color looks cleaner lol how do you like the hta68? I want one bad.
Stop talking non sense, the 7 bolt can't even hold 300hp on stock internals, they are good engines but not even close to the 6 bolt. I blew 2 7 bolts already,so I know what their about. That's the very reason why everyone swaps the 7 to the 6,otherwise no one would bother.
The car in this video has over 400awhp on stock internals and that's not even close to the record for a stock 7-bolt engine.
Corey Jenson Whats is ganuv talking about? Do you even DSM bro?
i would rather have the 6 bolt but a good 7 bolt can easily throw down 400whp all day, my roomate had a 553whp 7 bolt until he sold it to get an evo, stock crank with manley rods and wiesco pistons. has been running for 4-5 years with track time
tell me ..are you a fucking intellectual moron? don't you know how to read? I said completely stock !! no modded rods or pistons nothing at all! the 7 will get blown at around 250 hp where the 6 can handle up to 300hp. read before you open your mouth!
fyi my 6 bolt did 429 whp daily with stock internals and 25 psi. im not sure how many 4g63ts you have built but i know for a fact that a bone stock 7 bolt with a good tune will do 350 all day everyday for thousands of miles.
nice car but swap it to a 6 bolt, the 7 blow!! i blew 2 of them already.their just weak
the 7bolt is a fine motor. They are not weak at all. Weaker than a 6bolt? Yes. However they're capable of holding more than enough power for the average person. They have been pushed upwards of 500-600whp on stock internals. 6bolt is stronger but I would still rock a 7bolt without much hesitation.
I made this 11 second pass in Dec. 2010 on a stock 7-bolt block and I'm still making passes on the the SAME stock 7-bolt block 3 years later. Just because you blew two of them doesn't mean it's a weak motor...
It's actually a GS-T converted from auto to an awd manual transmission. He has a build journal on dsmtunersDOTcom under his tuner name "Gofer" if you want to check it out. It's definitely an interesting story as to what he's gone through with this car.
"He's never gonna get 11..". I think he ran 11.659 sir. Unless he was referring to the Evo.
Hey bro sick ride where did you find the 2gb eagle front?
Nah, it still clears the cam gears on the turbo models. I just measured mine (1995 GS-T). But you're right about the 420A motor.
I thought it still cleared the cam gears on the turbo models of the 2nd generation Eclipse and Talon. They even used it on the same generation Galant strictly for design purposes, although it wasn't nearly as big and didn't look like it belonged.
Looks like the pictures are of the car in several different stages too. Some pictures have the car with a "black" roof (which all 2g Talons had) and some have the car completely red.
how much boost?
Awesome car!!! May I ask how did/do you avoid crankwalk with a heavy duty clutch and a STOCK 7bolt bottom end? Thanks
nice one mr.gofer
you fucked that evo up man lol. Nice work :)
how much did the awd conversion cost
Nice dsm! I need to get another one.
I like the car and the music. Nothing wrong w/ classical. Classical thunder would've been better though.
your car is beautiful lol i just need get my 95 gsx like that
ur music is gay but the car is sick
Saw this car on DSMTuners. com :D
... not cold outside. When the car's cold, like hasn't warmed up to operating temp.
Does the car do it when it's cold? That's just the FIAV allowing more air in to warm-up the car faster...
what a boost pressure??
Assuming you mean translator? Sure. Just raise and lower the MAFHz sliders that are being used during idle, typically a GM MAF idles around 500Hz so that would be the slider you adjust to make it idle rich after locking it in OL. Why do you have a MAF translator if you're running ECMLink?
Pretty fast. Ever dynoed?
That's not what this correct's. If you're trying to get AFREst to match your wideband then that's a tuning issue, specifically in your SD VE table.
