This is an extremely interesting robot. Yes, it's $8000 (I hear), but new technologies always cost the most (CD players used to cost over $300 when they were first introduced, now you can find them for less than $10). Considering Honda's robot cost over $100M to create (and he's not for sale!), this is a real bargain. I only wish I had the extra $$$ to burn. I'd love to program this fellow to twerk. (Just kidding) Anyway, I've seen about half a dozen videos tonight with NAO and I notice that he never steadies himself with his hands or arms - He always relies entirely on lowering his center of gravity by bending his knees and/or by shifting his COG from one foot to the other. Seems like grasping or just putting your hands on a surface would be an ideal way to stabilize youself, but I'm guessing there is a reason this feature is not yet incorporated into his core programming.
