0B5 to 7B2 - New England fall foliage, farmland, with commentary, short-field landing #cessna152
October flight from Turners Falls airport along the Connecticut river to Northampton. I talk about r/c planes vs. drones, look at my old apartment (from the air), and discuss small farms along the Connecticut river. I finish the flight with a right-on-the-numbers short field landing.

First time in a small plane (Cessna 152)
Переглядів 112Місяць тому
My cousin Donna had never flown in a GA aircraft...I took her up in the C-152 to see the old neighborhood. She asked a lot of good questions- flying with first-time passengers can be challenging, so we started with a single flight around the pattern to make sure she was OK. We then took off to see our former hometown- and then our cameras quit working. #aviation #cessna #generalaviation

My fault, but ATC did flub my callsign just a little; I missed a fairly important piece of info. "Let me know when you're there" lol.

#cessna #generalaviation This is primarily a test flight with a wing-mounted GoPro max. I wanted to shoot 360 video, but set the camera to just be, well, a camera. This is mostly "B-roll" and an excuse to learn how to edit with footage from multiple cameras.

Thanks for this presentation Tyler! I just flew in my buddy's Hawk XP both Sat and Sunday (19 - 20) out of NA. Love seeing 513 making daily flights out of 7B2! I am sure we could meet sometime soon, as I am there most every weekend these days. I am the guy who flew 513 when she was BRAND NEW back in March 14, 1983! I sill have all the log entries and a couple of receipts from 'Standard Air' at KBAF back in the day.

Thanks for the kind words. I will definitely look for you when I drop in! I think most 150’s and 152’s have a similar life- just look at the total hours on Cessnas going up for sale. They are workhorses and just keep going

7B2 is a nice little airport, I grew up less than 5 miles away so I get to fly over the old homestead. It is a friendly airport with a lot of GA activity.

Another great video! Nothing better than flying your family and friends. I recommend ditching the GoPro for a DJI Osmo Action camera, half the price and way better battery, stabilization and my experience is they don’t overheat (that’s why the GoPro puked I’m guessing). Hey I’m visiting WMass in October and may rent a 172 from Northampton, would be nice to meet up and say hi.

Very nice to see good ol' 513 on youTube! I flew this plane back when it was BRAND NEW in 1983! Hard to believe she's 41 years old as of this date ! It was back around 2000 at an all FORD car show that I re-discovered it at 7B2. Many entries in my log book from back in the day in that 152 II. It was originally new at KBAF where you could buy brand new Cessna aircraft at the time. (Standard Air and later Northeast Air). I subscribed to the channel, and since I hang around the apt. we just might meet up 👍.

Hey! The algorithm is at work. This popped up in my recommended feed, I'm taking lessons at KSFM to get my PPL and was just practicing landing for the first time today on runway 25. If you think your landing was bad, you should've seen some of mine! Cool to see some real world flying in my area. This is super useful for me to just hear radio calls and try to keep up with whats going on. Definitely going to check out some of your other videos. Keep up the good work and I hope to see you out there!

Agree. Passanger is without a flight helmet and is constantly adjusting his headset. Mic has no noise abatement cover. Who knows, perhaps there is no intercom. Anyone with any time in one of these machines knows there blows a CAT 5 hurricane while in the backseat. CAT 2 while in the front seat. Exhaust note from the W670 is deafening above anything but an idle. Noise cancelling headset is a joke. Still .. nothing compares.

Being the pilot in command is such a thrill. Congratulations on your first 100 hours. 100 hours pilots can get cocky and take risk they shouldn't, so always fly safe. JFK Jr. was at 100 hours and chose to fly at night and in weather and was VFR rated only, cost him and his fiancé's life.

Not shot on a camera phone- this is re-edited from a fixed camera with landscape aspect ratio. My hands were busy flying the plane, not holding the camera. Crosswind corrections put the door jamb over the runway. Feel free to check out the original video (link in the short) to see a better view! Cheers
