Very good question and that is why I asked if this is DIY.
Is this related to southern mantis chow gar tong long in any way, although we trained a combined eagle claw , cotton palm and tong long, it has some very similar moves? Looks like a powerful style. 😊 I can see a lot of tearing and shredding going on I believe. Dismantle his weapons go for the vital parts. This is so not a sport.

Great to see this classic form. One of my earliest memories of training in the 80s in London was a classmate of mine performing this with real fire in his belly - he tore into the form like a horse bolting from a stable. I still remember his strength and panache forty years on!

People always ask that same question. These forms are the encyclopedia of that style of kung fu it is an art and it also has self-defense applications. Since the advent of mixed martial arts people feel comfortable about making fun of traditional martial arts yet what people don’t realize is that mixed martial arts has a lot of rules, safety gloves, green cup, mouthpiece, a padded octagon floor.During the age of traditional martial arts these things did not exist for the sake of a fighters comfort
@@jm7578 Thanks. So you think that person X, if he practice your style would be a better fighter, than if he practiced MMA - in a no rules fight without protection on a wooden floor?
@@stefanhansen5882 it’s truly hard to say, actually many MMA fighters came from the traditional schools and have used traditional techniques in their MMA fights. Many MMA fighters are black belts in Shotokan , And they tweaked what they learned to be conducive to fight in the ring. My final believe his both traditional martial arts and MMA are extremely helpful but it always depends on the fighter himself
@@jm7578 That's not what I asked. I asked if the same person practice either MMA or your style, would he then be a better fighter - e.g. after one year. I started traditional martial arts (karate) in 1986. Later I practice Wing Tsun and BJJ. Some years after becoming a Wing Tsun instructor, I became an MMA coach in 2003. I have no doubt. A year of MMA will make someone a much better fighter than a year of any traditional martial art.
