I think this is the most accurate studio version
And he thought no one stayed together back then..
No Jacket Required won album of the year for 1985 and folks tried to front like it didn't happen.

Hey, i have the same record!
ok, this will haunt me all day....
Sounds as good as I remember it, listening as a six year old to my father's phonograph!
Nobody talks about these guys, but they’re actually pretty good!
God I love this song
The one "Deliverance"/"Bluegrass Banjo song on Elektra Records" from 1963 to wind up on an episode of "Sesame Street" (the live action segment was titled "Film Is Magic", which describes about how film stops , goes, backwards, forwards, speeds up, etc. It originally aired in 1970, and Eric Weissberg was probably the banjo player on the TV soundtrack.) Originally recorded in 1963 by Jac Holman at Elektra Records. Later appeared on the "Deliverance" album ten years later to fill up the album with the hit single "Dueling Banjos" as the lead track. Eric passed away on March 22, 2020. May he R.I.P..

Trump trial brought me here.
Municipal auditorium Nashxille..I was 16, i had a girl, a lid in my pocket & tripping balls on micro dot..Dickie Betts, Tucker, Chuck Level, Elvin Bishop & CDB all on one stage..Yes, it was perfect, in every way..All the stars were aligned LOL🍑🍄🍑🍄🍑🍄🍑🍄🍑🍄
I'm from Nashville, i was 16 and had a lid in my pants & tripping on micro dot ( chocolate) LOL.& will never forget this night...Marshall Tucker, Dickie Betts & Charlie Daniel's all on one stage & they deliver...Everybody showed up but it was a secret till show time🍄🍑🍄🍑🍄
Thanks for posting this. Tightest band I ever heard.
👍👍🔥🔥❤❤
Sounds just like the O.G. cassette tape playin' through my car's 6x9s on the way to the drive-in. Good show mate.
Greatest 😊
Great song?!
Really really love this piece❤
Fantastic
Musica boa, America é top demais
I had this 45 . Loved this . Haven’t heard it in decades.
It would take over 4 hours to walk 14 miles 🙄
i love this song soooo much
Awesome.
An anthem for my group of friends ⚖️
This is my favorite song by America. It is rather a grand song.
I remember first hearing Dance of the Hours through this exact album, which I owned as a child in the 1970s. I have since heard many performances of this piece but none, in my opinion, can compare to this. The orchestration here is dramatic and the extra measures from 3:30 to 5:30 make this recording stand out from all others. The illustration of mushrooms on the cover, the Disneyland label, and even the long chord and loud boom at the end of the composition still stick to me after almost 50 years. I currently own the Fantasia 2000 DVD, which has the same version of this composition. The adorable animal cartoons merely enhance the humorous effect of the performance.
I am 53 years old, married and with two children in elementary school. I remember owning this album as a little girl as far back as 1976. This album has exerpts from the Nutcracker on one side and Dance of the Hours on the other side. I recall the multicolor Disneyland label on the record and the image of dancing mushrooms on the cover. This album was my introduction to these legendary pieces of music.
Life is so hectic, but James Taylor is one of only a handful of recording artists/singers that put me at peace almost immediately. So glad he’s been and always will be a part of my musical life. ‘Love Always’ Hebrews 11:6
Thanks vinyl guys
Emotional karens be like
Should’ve been a single.
I know this is on the flip side of Ready To Take A Chance from 1978, but this is the recording from Barry Manilow I from 1973. So this song is 50 years old now, which is so hard for me to believe.
Just watched the 1976 John Carpenter film Assault on Precinct 13...the gang organization in that film is called Street Thunder. Coincidentally, this song reminds me a lot of the movie soundtrack. I can just imagine this track playing during the stalking scene with the ice cream truck, or when the white suburban dad is chasing down the gang members in their car. :D
This is the version I prefer, from this single, and the album.great lyrics, and and as always that amazing 🤩 voice.🤗🤗
Idk if its my audio system but the slightly off quality creates a radio-esqe feel that makes this even better.
The original 45 single B side.
He was one hell of a Banjo player. Also pläyed fiddle, Mando, guitar, you name it.
This says 1973, but I had this exact same version of the tune on an LP by Eric Weissberg and Marshall Brickman called "New Dimensions In Banjo & Bluegrass" that I bought in the mid-sixties, so this must be a re-issue.
Commercial free.....nice!
Good ❤ song 💗🤩👍😎👍😎.❤ love you hahaha 😂.
I cry and my baby is now 17
I don't remember this from the movie

My fav song of theirs, might have to pick up a copy of this single for myself. It’s a real shame the whole album never got a vinyl release
One of their best songs fr
