microKorg drunken chord patch

In the video I had the arp on only because that way I had my other hand free to hold the camera. This FX type patch works ok when playing long chords or maybe you will find some other use for it. Like the title says. All the drums are samples programmed in the Machinedrum song mode. The bassline is also a sample on the MD and it has some distortion on it because I sampled it at a too low level and couldn't turn it up any other way (in hindsight it could have been smarter to sample it into the OT..) Bubbling 303 is Mode Machines x0xb0x mkII, distortion by Machinedrum again. Lead 303 is x...

Axoloti delay synced to MIDI clock v2

6 operator FM bass on Axoloti
Переглядів 4,3 тис.8 років тому
The news about the Volca FM got me patching on the Axoloti again to see if I could do something like this, and sure enough it's possible :) Each operator has their own pitch, keyboard tracking on/off, level and adsr for amplitude and toggles to determine carrier/modulator status and the operators they modulate. Each knob could also be set up to receive MIDI cc messages for a lot of realtime con...

Spot on
Thanks for dropping your jam !
Rapsakka jami!
Franchement, même si tu as pas mal sampler l'original il est très bon ton cover, j'essaye de le faire aussi sur les machines originales, mais c'est pas facile
much better then the rd-9 or 8 from shithringer
your thoughts on that snare?
I didn't like the original snare, I believe this unit was modded when I made this video.
Still fresh after all these years
Precisely what I was looking for! This take the vb to another level Big thanks
Dude, excellent!!!
Genial!
Smooth. Thank you!

Really nice Jam!
Great groove! Love the fact that you’ve used the 303-line on a 6th- lenght.
Bang on. That is all. Subbed
I have difficulties to see where midi clock comes in and subsequently where it is connected to. Kindly enlighten me please.
I don't see it either but I think it must be inside the delay boxes. I can try to find this patch if you're interested; the clock sync is not perfect (which might be nice) and I think others have shared tempo synced delays in the community library.
@@jussirantala8530 Thanks! And yes, I‘d love to see the patch
I think the actual patch is on my old computer. I found my post on the axoloti forum that shows what's in the delay object (or subpatch really), with comments: community.axoloti.com/t/delay-sync-to-midi-clock/979/10?u=jsz And actually that post has a link to download for a mono version of this delay :)
@@jussirantala8530 Thank you so much!

great version of classic track! nice one!
Make a video where you play two volcas simultaneously, using one hand for each.
Lol I have an another Volca video featuring Beats and Keys. You can't really see what's happening but I think it has some of the techniques on this video, and some use of toggling motion sequencing on and off on Keys. I use both hands on both :)
Dude these are so cool make me wanna buy a microkorg so I can follow along😂
Top job!
Hello ! Lovely sound and thanks for the sharing ! However, I followed your instructions but I can't find that subtle and smooth keyboard sound (I've got the tempo and the "unstable result"). Mine is rougher, agressive. Did I miss something with the voice parameter ? Can you share your entire patch ? Thanks :)
I'll check when I get home from work. Glad to hear you like it!
I made it from scratch according to the instructions in the description. I have missed one thing there and it is the tempo. The default 120 is a lot faster than in this video and since the LFO is synced to tempo that makes a big difference. I'm guessing in the video the tempo is between 30 and 40 bpm.. that's too slow for most purposes but because the slowest synced LFO is 1/1 I think it has to be that way.
And it seems the video has the arp on with gate 100 and latch on and type "trg"
@@jussirantala8530 Thanks for your help s ! I think, the tempo is 60bpm ;)
This is awesome, thanks for sharing.
Cool techno
Very good
Hello, and many thanks for your video. I'm facing a problem: in some memories pcm motion recording works and in some others it doesn't. I always enable motion rec. I reset to factory defaults but still nothing. The light of Rec button keeps on but it doesn't record my PCM adjustments. Has it happened to you? Is there some function or something I have enabled causing something like that? thank you in advance
I don't know of a setting that would cause this. I don't have the Beats anymore but as far as I know if you have the motion rec speed light on, it should record and play back the tweaks to pcm speed.
@@jussirantala8530 thanks for your response anyway
Great video man! Cheers.
Thx i actually thought i knew this mach inside and out but picked up a few points from this . Ta
Hi Jussi, very nice stuff and good demo. just a question: what's the point of Shift+time? does it affect the tempo secuenque? Thanks
It quantises the stutter delay time to rhythmic intervals and shows it on the display, so it's a quick and easy way to get a delay of a certain length.
great! thanks! ;)
beautiful ... how often are you performing in the clubs?
kostistlač kostistlac lol I only play at home when the kids are sleeping :)
A little question; why this machine double every note it does? I dont know what i did touch, but it is as i would be a strange deley that double every note, you suppose to hear "bong" and you listen "bong-bong"; why? How can i take off this thing? Thanks
mangiapetardo mangioskij try turning stutter depth to zero.
If you mean, turning the stutter depth control all way to the left, i did. The sound changes but the double note remains!
I found out; the problem was the audio device! I don't know why, i've got two line in in my focusrite, it seems that the second works fine, the first one put a strange deley / strange latency on everything, i've put the volca in the second, and my guitar in the first one, volca ok, guitar with that annoyng deley. Thanks for the answer.
Hi there, really nice video. Is there a way to explain how the CCs can be independently assigned to the knobs on each track ? I know I can use 4 OT tracks to play the 4 channels but I don't see how I can assign CCs. I hope you'll see this comment :-). Best and awesome video by the way !
Thanks! Assigning CCs is explained on p. 117 of the Octatrack pdf manual, the ctrl setup page thing.
Jussi Rantala do you adding cc for tetras individual midi tracks independently? I'm gonna tackle into this similar setup with multimode and am gonna see about recording automation for cc via my mopho x4. haven't done this before and am theory crafting before I figure routing it and getting into it
Nice groovie technotrack
Flashing lights and squeeking basslines thumbs up!
Thanks :) Going to see Hardfloor live tonight!
Jussi Rantala :)
Nice!! that acid line sounds great!Did you use 4 tracks on the octatrack to sequence this? Not sure exactly how midi tracks work on octatrack?
Chris Allen yes OT was used for sequencing and for mixing and fx, each voice went to their own input. Octatrack has 8 MIDI tracks, each can send on a channel between 1 and 16. CCs can be independently assigned to the knobs on each track.
hi Jussi, thanks for the reply!so the 8 midi tracks are independent from the main 8 tracks?
The OT has a "audio side" and "midi side" (these are probably not the correct terms). There's a yellow LED that indicates MIDI side is selected, you can see in this video I switch it off at around 7 seconds and what you can't really see is that the display also switches from MIDI to audio tracks. So you can have the focus so to speak on either the audio or MIDI. The 8 MIDI tracks are separate from the 8 audio tracks but all are part of the same pattern of course.
Ahh I see!Thank you for clearing that up! I have never tried a Octatrack but do have an elektron machinedrum. I'm familiar with the midi machines on there altho I have not tried sequencing any gear with them yet!
Hi Jussi, is your patch available in the community library at Axoloti? I would love to have it =) Cheers from Amsterdam, Boris
Boris Boom I don't know how the community library works so no.. I can upload it somewhere and message you the link. Mind you the patch is very messy as I didn't know much about the Axoloti when I made it :)
Here's a link, I hope the patch works. Like I said it is a mess and there are many things that could be patched better :) drive.google.com/open?id=0B8vGWPLYlcqad3I5RTZ0b3JPWVk
Haha! This is awesome. Can somebody say "volca power-user"!!
nice stuff, but it sounds very flat. Were compressors used for this?
HdV no. The audio is direct from Axoloti. Patching accent behaviour would be quite simple.
Love it... Top job. Not an easy one to re-create either.
Thanks man. I noticed there is a little error in it :) The claps should be on every bar, for some reason I only programmed them on bar 1 of the 2 bar drum pattern.. But I can live with this :D
