    Seeing that royal bank there just made me think it was so much easier to rob a bank back then, just wear a ski mask and that’s it. There isn’t the security technology they have nowadays to aid in apprehending the perpetrators.

      In Canada's case it kinda was. Through out the 1980s and early 90s, Canada consistently ranked 1st out of the entire world when it came to the Human Developement Index. It now sits in 16th or 17th I believe. Not bad but it's clearly fallen from where it once was.

      @@robertruffo2134 more affordable, less congestion, less crime, less corporatocracy. We had a thriving art scene in the Queen West area and an independent TV station unlike anything else in North America (City-TV & Much Music), we also had one of the best independent radio stations (CFNY).

    You might be quick to think to yourself "Good thing the crew cabin looks untouched and behind the blast". The lucky ones got taken out instantly, unfortunately most of them would only survive for a few days in agony with scalding burns. They may have been shielded from shrapnel, but not the steam which would have engulfed the cabin and crew. Very few survive a locomotive boiler explosion.

Prior to the last 10 years we didn't have multiple carjackings a day, multiple shootings a day, people from india stealing 20 million in gold from the airport etc.. You clearly weren't around.

Before the 2000's with didn't have daily shootings and murders, carjackings every 40 seconds, condos everywhere, homeless everywhere, you could buy a house for under a million dollars, you could afford to rent if you had a regular job.       Toronto was a boring, stuffy city full of parking lots and more crime than it has now (look it up). It was dull and unglamorous. It had almost no good restaurants, and on Sunday everything was closed. Now it's still so-so, but passable. That's reality.

Traffic everywhere is a mess with road construction and highway closures and also people back then had manners and respect for one another. I could go on but why bother.
