What a rediculous thread filled with creeps😮😮😮😮
I wonder what has been the factor that made Toronto from that time to now.
But where are the sand people on e-bikes?
Terrestrial man,,, humans are bad ,
Moved there in 84 to go to Uni. Was there for one year. Too expensive had lots of fun though. Loved going to yonge street on Friday nights.
Eew😮
Scotiabank hasnt changed their logo!!! 0:48 that scotiabank looks like it could be standing there rn
The ground just swallowed the car like the Hawk Tua chick
I hate 2024. I want to go back to the summer of 1987 and just stay there
2010 would do well for me.
When it was mostly white people. Now its hell.
Back in a nicer time without all the shit that goes down there now
Props to Oopsie the Clown - a pillar of Kitchener's CKCO TV. He was the host of "Big Top Talent" (which I was on once). Had no idea he also had a gig with some parade marching band outfit!
Toronto peaked with the CN Tower
I moved here in 1984. Yonge street in those days was littered with strip clubs.
80s Toronto simply rocked, lots of opportunity and possibilities. The city was alive with positive creativity and affordability for what you needed to get started in-life.
You're describing Toronto before the "mega city" mistake. The Ford brothers ruined Ontario.
Back when people knew how to socialize with each other
What intersection is the historic building about to be demolished? It's a winter picture.
That's right next to what's now Dundas Square, diagonally across from the Eaton Centre.

The music was very jarring, it doesn't fit at all with these photos of 80's Toronto.
That's the Toronto I remember..Growing up there in the 80s was great..It's like a different world there now.
Would have been nice if you subtitled some dates & intersections
Indeed. I appreciated the views on Yonge, because I know that area, but I'd like to have known where the other shots were.
The greatest times for Toronto and life in general, seems like the entire world started going downhill from the 90's onward.
I'm guessing you're not gay or black then, or a woman.
Seeing that royal bank there just made me think it was so much easier to rob a bank back then, just wear a ski mask and that’s it. There isn’t the security technology they have nowadays to aid in apprehending the perpetrators.
The last decade Toronto was truly a great city.
Not even close. It's been horrible.
Well it was actually the 90’s
@@bastymanguy The 90s were good but I think the 80s were more fun.
Oh wow the cute gas station at the beginning has been moved to near windemere lakeshore
??? there is no gas station at any point in this video, i just watched it twice to see what you were talking about and can't find it, timestamp please..
@@greatunz67yes you see the gas station at @0:18 with the tip top Taylor building you can’t miss it! That cute gas station was relocated to lakeshore and windemere near sunnyside
Careful who you vote for.
Look what corporate greed has done
@@railfandepotproductions corporate greed or government waste and largesse?
@@cherifbar that CPC mayor has ruined Toronto
@@railfandepotproductions not all Conservatives are created equal. He certainly didn’t succeed in provincial politics but he is certainly far better then the current occupant of city hall.
@@cherifbar you sure tho
It was great in the 80's, now, not so much.
Wonder how many shootings or stabbings in those days? Right at the time immigration should've been curtailed.Look at Trawna now..:(
Thak you for sharing, I've been trying to find late 1970's-early 1980's photos of Spadina Ave Chinatown, and it's still be a trip around the sun, lol. If you have anymore links or photos, I would greatly appreciate them.
In every country, 80s and 90s people said that these are gold years.
It was in the west but most of Eastern Europe was under Soviet communist rule.
In Canada's case it kinda was. Through out the 1980s and early 90s, Canada consistently ranked 1st out of the entire world when it came to the Human Developement Index. It now sits in 16th or 17th I believe. Not bad but it's clearly fallen from where it once was.
@@samhirst2830 Not bad? I think it's a total disgrace.
What started in late 80s /early 90s that led to the downfall? Mass immigration from 3rd world countries to 1st world countries.
No. It's what old people say because they were younger then. Montreal, for example, was dirty and had all kinds of economic trouble. Now it's amazing.
It used to be a great city....now not so much.
Based on what criteria? That you used to be younger then?
You don't like it?
@@ianstuart5660 Nope...I don't like 2024 Toronto at all, and those fortunate enough to have experienced an earlier Toronto would definitely agree.
@@robertruffo2134 Nope not being young and inexperienced isn't the measure. I'm older now and consequently more sophisticated in judging the criterea of what makes a great city. Toronto suffers from being in a lesser Canada today as just one criterea..
@@robertruffo2134 more affordable, less congestion, less crime, less corporatocracy. We had a thriving art scene in the Queen West area and an independent TV station unlike anything else in North America (City-TV & Much Music), we also had one of the best independent radio stations (CFNY).
NO NOMADS OF THE DESERT
jews are originally from a semi arid region and the rich arabs majorly from the desert while the poor fanatics are often from the fertile crescent levant etc
No racist comments here
0:09 The Silver Rail was a great place! The Downstairs Attic was a restaurant underneath that was epic.
I had so much fun. It was awesome.
You might be quick to think to yourself "Good thing the crew cabin looks untouched and behind the blast". The lucky ones got taken out instantly, unfortunately most of them would only survive for a few days in agony with scalding burns. They may have been shielded from shrapnel, but not the steam which would have engulfed the cabin and crew. Very few survive a locomotive boiler explosion.
Toronto had class. Now it's absolutely horrible.
Well things have gotten a lot worse in the last 2 months
@@thomassmith1922 This is just boomer nonsense. While I never liked Toronto, it's not just "worse".
@@robertruffo2134 ummm you must be under 40. I'm 56 and have lived in Toronto all of my life. It's absolutely worse! Prior to the last 10 years we didn't have multiple carjackings a day, multiple shootings a day, people from india stealing 20 million in gold from the airport etc.. You clearly weren't around.
@@robertruffo2134 it's absolutely worse than it ever was. You must be under 40. Before the 2000's with didn't have daily shootings and murders, carjackings every 40 seconds, condos everywhere, homeless everywhere, you could buy a house for under a million dollars, you could afford to rent if you had a regular job. Toronto is a shithole now.
It never had class
im comparing cities out of boredom in the 80's and my god nothing comes close to japan in the 80's
Toronto as it used to be before it all went to hell.
Hell? You mean rejuvenation of downtown and the waterfront? You mean (boomers hate these, I know, because they think cars are rolling gods). You mean more restaurants than just truly terrible "family" one? What hell are you talking about?
More like the world went to hell.
Toronto was a boring, stuffy city full of parking lots and more crime than it has now (look it up). It was dull and unglamorous. It had almost no good restaurants, and on Sunday everything was closed. Now it's still so-so, but passable. That's reality.
@@robertruffo2134 That may be so, but back then things worked: public transit was world class now its a joke where subways are closed every weekend. Traffic everywhere is a mess with road construction and highway closures and also people back then had manners and respect for one another. I could go on but why bother.
Sherpas are poor people and do this incredibly difficult hob to feed their families. The most important things to remember, respect them, appreciate them, pay them well and be gratfull when they safe your ass.
gorgeous
Toronto the good
So an idiot designer started to make cab forwards. Insane.
I loved the 70s. But the 80s was the best decade!
I grew up in Toronto in the 80’s…
Before crack epidemic muslums and illegal migrants it was beutiful💗
