Interesting job, I use to love this type of job before I retired

Another great video
Hi i have used a brickmate tape for years makes setting out easy no need to dry lay bricks, am enjoying the videos
César 🧔🏻 Hermaita 😊❤
Hi nice job going on, but wondering where the insulation is under the pad, didn't see any going in.?
No wall ties don’t you just work the walls ties to work with both blocks and bricks?
We use framing cramps, we find them easier to use with imperial bricks.
No walls ties ?
We’re using imperial bricks so the bond between brick and block don’t match. For this reason we’ve used framing cramps instead of traditional wall ties.
Didn't know Sean Dyche was a good builder. Fair play lol
Looking forward to watching….great commentary
How much did this cost ? just to get an idea whether it is worth it.
Starts telling you how important it is to lay the first courses plum to dictate the superstructure, then builds a corner plumbing from the inside & not the face of the bricks which the first course should really be concrete blocks ‘cause it’s below DPC and won’t be seen! 😂🤣🤣😂🤣🤣🤣🤣😂 Do not listen to this 🤡.
Once again a non builder thinking they know it all. I suppose your name is Google. You might want to go to supersavers mate as not once do i plumb from the inside. You might want to back to school as well as plumb is not spelt plum, that's a fruit. But thanks for your ravishing feedback.
@@dpsbuildingltd530Nice bit of work, always get one that think they know it all don't you
😅😅
Well done boys!
What would be the cost for the job, similar to this roughly?
Weldone ur making a family very happy new extension 😊
Help! Can you use solid block for outter as well as inner leaf below dpc?
nice work. will the roof joists be reused for anything?
Not on the build. The client kept them.
Great videos thanks for sharing this guys.keep up the good work
I'm new subscriber.
thanks for video, always interesting
Love this guys
Nice video what mix do you use under slabs
just a bit of a q
Who does your drawings and building regs ?
Drawings were organised by the clients and building control was Acivico which is a private firm based in birmingham.
All your doors have been hung upside down the bottom rail is always wider than the top. I always hang doors fist then fix architraves in case the lining needs tweaking I’ve always put my hinges 7” from top of door 9”up from bottom of door then centre out for middle hinge just a strange way of working
Thanks for your comment terry. They have been hung upside down on purpose. The rest of the doors in the house have been hung so the longer panels are on the bottom and the shorter are on the top. We did discuss this with our client and instead of turning the rest of the doors in the house they opted for the two new ones to match the existing. I believe the rest of the doors were done that way as the clients preferred the handles to be higher.
@@dpsbuildingltd530It was just strange to see the doors upside down but if the customer wants that then they get hung that way good luck on your future work
thanks man, you did a grand job, very clean site, you edited video to make watchable in short period of time and you got skill... many thanks
You’ve hung that door upside down M8😅
Good video. You definitely need to invest in a microphone tho 👍🏿
We've bought one and started using it now so bear with us and thanks for the comment.
Great videos, suggestion sometimes voice very echoey a body mike
Why no brick ties or insulation?
No ties below ground as a lean mix goes into the cavity. Insulation was placed on top of the slab 👍
Great job mate, looks awesome
Great job lads
Cheers Logan! Appreciate your comment
Quality work, I’m sure the customers are very pleased with the finished product. Well done & great video.
thanks for your comment Paul = much appreciated
Thats impressive for 6 days work
Keep the videos coming, before you know it you’ll be at 1000 subscribers
As an enthusiastic DIYer its interesting to watch your vids thanks for sharing them
Absolutely love this channel. It’s actually addictive. Keep up the great work guys
Is it possible to dig under nit the neighbor's footing? How is it that the ground from the neighbors side is not sliding toward you ?
It is possible but it would have to be done in sections to prevent subsidence and it wasn't a viable option within the budget. The neighbours wall was a conservatory wall, single skin, so not as much weight bearing down as a cavity wall would have. The building inspector who came out was an ex structural engineer and when he gave the thumbs up, we were happy!
Great job. I though that with the OSB roof boards you had to leave an expansion gap between the sheets to stop lifting up? Any roofers out there want to comment?
Thanks for the feedback. The OSB boards we used are tongue and groove and they have an expansion gap built into the T&G section.
Thanks, found it. I'll use it on my next job. Cheers lads
Great content boys keep up the good work
Why not use foundation blocks instead of all that brickwork underground that no one will see? Just wasting time doing all that dead work
We were going to us them but we had trench block shortage in our area at that particular time so instead of waiting a week we decided to go up with a cavity wall to keep to the schedule.
thanks for sharing your work and taking the time to produce your videos. any chance you can get a decent microphone? keep having to turn up and down with the music.... otherwise, great content 👍
Thanks for the feedback. We are in the process of updating our equipment and we're still learning as we do all the editing ourselves.
@10:00 WOW - are those neighbour "foundations" a strip ontop of clay? seriously what area building control are you in? or maybe they built it during lockdown 😂
also good to see you doing a proper job of it mate
Building control is Acivico who took over from Birmingham council. We considered under pinning the neighbours wall as we couldn't rebar the two together but it was too costly.
@ 13:19 glad you explained that one. first thought was to tooth in but mate those are thumb joints- were they trying to match a 65mm brick with old imperial on the original house? great vids by the way, thanks for posting
Yeah they were! They didn't achieve it though! I believe the original extension was built by the last owners who weren't in the construction industry.
Great video
Cheers. It was a great job to work on 👍
insulation??
The insulation was placed on top of the slab. We normally put it under but the building regs drawings for this extension required it over.
That string line you use looks amazing, where can I purchase one from? thanks
Its just a normal string line but I use clamps instead of blocks. Deepocean 2Pcs Brick Liner Runner Wire Drawer Bricklaying Tool Fixer Building Construction amzn.eu/d/brdZXVY
Where did you buy your wall ties and what type were they
