Summiting Hay Bluff and searching for the mysterious monolith. Brecon Beacons. Wales.
Переглядів 3575 місяців тому
After hearing all the talk of these mysterious monoliths appearing all over the world and more recently in Wales, we thought we'd stop off at Hay Bluff on our way into the Brecon Beacons to see what all the commotion is about. Monolith mysteries aside, Hay Bluff is well worth a visit! Stunning views and very remote. Check out our blog for a more in depth look at our walk ajoadventures.com/?p=25...

Longborough and Bourton on the Hill. Walking through Cotswold villages and beautiful countryside.

After a disastrous start to the days proceedings (it should have been Burford), we walked from Longborough to Bourton-on-the-Hill and back again using a different route. Taking our time to fully explore both of these picturesque Cotswold villages and thoroughly enjoying the stunning English countryside in-between. The walk back in particular had some pretty woodland, lit with light from a low g...

We stayed a few nights in this beautifully restored train carriage/brake van in The Brecon Beacons, South Wales, UK. It's the most unique and most memorable place we've stayed to date. Right in the middle of the Brecon Beacons national park, you'd struggle to find accommodation better situated for exploring Pen y Fan and waterfall country. Romantic little cabin with some unique extras! Devon, England, UK
Can anyone confirm if the monolith is still there?
One of the most charming, unique villages I have ever visited…
IF - IF anyone has an open mind -- there was an exceptional explanation about how this being came about on Blossom Goodchild's YT channel - there are other similar but more softcore explanations around - But, as ever, Blossom's is the best.
Thanks for the video, breathtaking area! It doesn't seem like the others, the others are like mirror
A lot bigger than I thought. We only went to a small area for a short time before we got back on a coach.
The bit with the shops is only about half of it.
I visited here years ago with a friend, but during the summer time.
Thanks so much for sharing this. So it was right at the top. We went to find it on Sunday 31 March but we weren't as brave as you guys. The weather was blowing a hooley but I know that is no excuse. Do you know if it is still there? Chess Jess and Neil X)O(X
Not sure if it’s still there or not I’m afraid! If it is, you should be able to see it if you stand at the trig point and look southish. There’s no obvious path to it but walking south from the trig point you should be able to see where the heather has been flattened a little by people walking to it.
It looks so relaxing and pretty.
It sure is!
Very beautiful place and the video.
Glad you enjoyed it. Thank you 👍🏻
Always enjoy visiting Bourton. Never seen it that empty in real life - it must have been very early!
Very early and a little out of season.
Well done both. It's a beautiful place. I went up there about 3 months ago, it was a beautiful clear winters day. It's great being outdoors. Keep having fun.👍👋
Thanks Jamie! We’d spend every day doing this kind of thing if we could! 👍🏻
@@AandJsOutdoorAdventures Me too.😁 I was out yesterday afternoon. ⛰️
Lovely photography and nice views of places I know well. I would prefer a commentary to twangy guitars, just so I know where the photo is situated.
Thanks for watching Richard and thank you for taking the time to leave us some constructive feedback. We’ll bear it in mind as we grow our channel 👍🏻
Fantastic edit so well made
Thank you so much! 👍🏻
So nice😊
So beautiful👍
vERY NICE NATURE, I LOVE GREEN!
All the jump cuts pissed me off. I can’t tell what is where. Too annoying to watch.
Sorry to hear that.
Beautiful tour of Burford. Lovely countryside 😊
Thank you. We are lucky to live where we do.
Thanks, Stow in the Wold it will be.
Nice video, IMHO the repetitive music isn’t adding much, would be nice to hear just the sounds of the place
Appreciate the feedback. We are still a fairly new channel, finding our way. We started out with music as a way of simplifying our sound editing but are now transitioning more towards natures backing tracks 👍🏻
I am planning on spending 5 days in the Cotswolds this June. Would you recommend that I stay in one village, or two villages? Where would you suggest I stay in order to maximize my time? Thanks in advance, and thanks for the videos you have posted. I will be driving by car.
If you have a car with you and you’re looking for Cotswold villages, thatched roofs etc, maybe stay in Stow-on-the-wold or Broadway. Both would give easy access to surrounding towns/villages like The Slaughters, Snowshill, Chipping campden, Bourton-on-the-water etc.
Спасибо большое за чудесную прогулку!👍
You’re welcome! Thank you for watching 👍🏻
Ye olde England..

*YE OLDE ENGLAND* A GREEN AND PLEASANT LAND🏴
Very nice video. Subscribed. Just started making my own video's and got a lot to learn. Yours are so professional.
Thank you soo much! We try 😂 Still pretty new to this ourselves at 5 months in.
@@AandJsOutdoorAdventures Just started using a DJI Osmo Mobile 6 and it makes such a difference with stability. What kit do you use?
Our first few videos were exclusively iPhone 10’s which are still doing the job now! We have recently added a DJI mobile 6 and a GoPro. The gimble was mainly for Jess as she struggles to keep a steady hand. The GoPro was a real Game changer for us. You can have it out of your pocket and recording in seconds and can set up many different shots very quickly with its mini tripod/selfie stick thingy.
Love to see the Cotswolds Highlighted. Thank you

No problem. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Lovely area🚶♂️🚶♀️‼️💐. Thank you for sharing ‼️🎥
Thanks Joan!
Как мило, спокойно, уютно
We love the Cotswolds. Was there 6 years ago
We’re lucky enough to live here 👍🏻
@@AandJsOutdoorAdventures We enjoyed our stay at Bourton On The Water for the week.. We had a day trip around the villages on a Tuk Tuk thanks to Chris from the Cotswolds Tuk Tuk tour. (slideshows on my channel). Such a wonderful place to visit.
Unique way to experience the place! We’ll be sure to check out your video 👍🏻
Check the audio on part 1 of your Bourton on the water video mate… seems odd, like there’s 2 tracks playing over each other 👍🏻
@@AandJsOutdoorAdventures Thank you for telling me. I don't know how it happened but have checked it and sure enough there are two tracks playing. Have now sorted it and deleted one of the tracks. Much appreciated for letting me know👍
Thank you so much for sharing your lovely walk‼️🎥🚶♂️🚶♀️. The Clydesdale, ponies, cyclist, stone houses, that narrow walkway, the pub, and all else look so beautiful ‼️.
Thanks Joan! Really pleased you’re still enjoying our videos 👍🏻
Thats a Shire Horse not clydesdale
I grew up in Mickleton, 3:00 is where my friend hung himself, you can see his memorial bench on the right side of the path RIP.

@@AandJsOutdoorAdventuresThanks, it is a beautiful place to grow up but just as tragic as anywhere else, too much money and too many drugs. Hope you enjoyed it though sorry for the downer lol.
Beauty stood still...❤😊❤😊❤😊
what a lovely looking place great work.
Thank you!
😍😍😍
We were there September 2023, great village life along the banks
I had the pleasure of visiting Bourton On the Water last month and it was everything I dreamed of! I have always wanted to see the Cotswolds and I finally did!! Can't wait to visit again!
It’s a unique place for sure! Did you stop in at The Slaughters while you were there? They’re a stones throw from Bourton.
What a lovely village! Thanks for showing it!!
Thank you for sharing ‼️
Glad you’re still enjoying our videos 👍🏻
Love this area. Did you see the secret waterfall at Hidcote
No! We didn’t. If it was inside the grounds, it was closed for the season so we couldn’t go in.
@@AandJsOutdoorAdventuresIt’s outside the garden, in a coppice.
@@SmokingLaddyWe’re going to have to go back one day. I’m intrigued now 😂
What I wonder is, who lives in these cottages. Are they real humans, or misplaced Londoners. (Assuming there are any English ones left.) Have their prices gone through the roof? Anyway, it’s nice to dream. Dream of a lost bucolic fantasy.
I believe the cottages on Arlington row are owned by the National trust and rented out. It's a little busy for us, we'd rather take one of those and drop it in a remote woodland somewhere ; )
Any English ones left?? The hell does that mean??
Great❤
Thank you!
