Two brothers and their friend hang out while creating video game Let's Plays and Keeping BZ, a series where Zach and Brandon show each other a game for an hour or so while spit-balling various topics. We hope you can find our stuff as relaxing as we do making it.
Keeping BZ: Zachary's 32nd Birthday
Will anyone click on a UA-cam video with OLD people in it?! I guess we'll find out! We recorded this on Zach's birthday; December 15th. He couldn't think of anything to record, so wouldn't it be easier to just make the game himself? Choice paralysis is annoying. The game glitched because he missed some code, so the video also shows some other games he has worked on in the past. This has been a productive year for the channel and we hope to see you guys more next year as well! Thank you for sticking with us as we kept BZ, and we hope you've been BZ as well, in a good way.

On this episode of Keeping BZ We play The Grinch for PS1, Dreamcast, and PC Despite barely making any progress in sixty minutes of gameplay We managed to fill that time with many things to say From movies, to shows, to presents and Who politics Our topics ensure we will get all the clicks So whether you are eating, on the road, or bored at work We hope this background noise will at least make y...
Being BAZed: Left 4 Dead 2 (Dark Carnival)

Welcome to the evolution of Keeping BZ with A! Now it has a clever(?) title! This is pretty much still Keeping BZ, but with Alec! Tonight, we play Left 4 Dead 2! A very fun co-op game from Valve that we're bad at but that just makes it more entertaining. We also modded it to be as ridiculous as possible. Will we survive, or will we be L4D? #left4dead2 #left4dead2mods
Keeping BZ - Half Life 2 but something is...off

Get the mod here: www.moddb.com/mods/half-life-2-alone-mod Brandon and Zach attempt to distract themselves (from nothing in particular) with Half Life 2...but something is...off. Oh well, in the meantime they discuss the Half Life series, TV show conspiracy theories, how much game does a game need to be a game, Doom, and more!

Level-5's own attempt at entering the monster catching genre is certainly unique among the other games, doing a really good job of separating itself from Pokemon. For better and for worse. Zach does his best to show the good and bad side of the franchise of series he likes. Not that he can really describe why.
Keeping BZ: The Chant
Переглядів 41Місяць тому
What if spiritual energy, healing crystals, third eyes were our way of contacting a psychedelic world just beyond our own? 2022's The Chant explores this concept as a survival horror game with inspiration from 70s horror films. Brandon loves this game despite its flaws, Zach is new to it. The two of them discuss their own struggles cleansing their auras, what if spirits and vibes were real tang...
Keeping BZ: Harvester

We're not being kidders. This is a video for October showing off only some of the insanity that is Harvester. A very bizarre and edgy adventure game that caused a lot of controversy when it was announced due to its graphic content. We don't make any real progress in this video, Zach just wants to show off some of the game so they can make fun of it while Zach tries to explain why he's so charme...
Keeping BZ: Epic Mickey Rebrushed
Переглядів 1412 місяці тому
In 2010 Disney teamed up with the director of the dark science fiction video game masterpiece Deus Ex to make...a Mickey Mouse game. Epic Mickey is bizarre, ambitious, and was underappreciated in its era. The franchise eventually petered out after 3 games due to low sales...and yet somehow, it's back with a surprisingly polished and lovingly crafted remake. Zach and Brandon have a lot of affect...

A special game for a BZ special, it's THE Kingdom Hearts! The first game is beloved by Zach, Brandon, and Alec. This is one of the longer ones in a while, but we had a lot to say about this particular game. We hope you'll enjoy this video along with future videos!
Keeping BZ: Streets of Rage 2

Zach and Brandon play a video game where they leave their homes and take their 90s attitude into the streets! OF RAGE! TWO! How will these two do in this classic Genesis beat-em-up?
Keeping BZ: Arzette: The Jewel of Faramore?

Get the UA-cam Poop mod for Arzette here: elliespectacular.com/farcette Arzette is...a curious product; born out of genuine love for games that became viral through irony and UA-cam Poops. Yet as a game Zach and I found it to be surprisingly likable and relaxing (and certainly better than the games that inspired it). In this video we talk about our thoughts on Arzette, UA-cam Poops, games made ...
Keeping BZ: Scooby Doo! Mystery Mayhem (PART 2)
Переглядів 1124 місяці тому
The viewers asked for it, so Zach and Brandon dive back into the mysterious mayhem starring Scooby Doo and Shaggy! Not much talk about Mystery Inc this time around. Instead, the two talk about nostalgic memories because they're over 30 and they're withering. Mainly discussing video game rental stores of the past.
Keeping BZ: Scooby Doo! Mystery Mayhem
Переглядів 5354 місяці тому
Brandon showed off his nostalgic Scooby Doo game, so it's Zach's turn to show Brandon his own nostalgic Scooby Doo game; Mystery Mayhem. How will this one compare and can it stand on its own? More importantly, will Shaggy and Scooby get a chance to eat?! (laugh track)
Keeping BZ: Scooby-Doo: Night of 100 Frights
Переглядів 2,3 тис.4 місяці тому
Developed by Heavy Iron Studios before they would be forever remembered for Spongebob: Battle for Bikini Bottom, Night of 100 Frights is a very decent 2.5D platformer with metroidvania elements. It captures the original era of Scooby-Doo immaculately through its animation, voice over from the original cast, and sound design of goofy cartoon sound effects. Zach and Brandon discuss their history ...
Keeping BZ: Griftlands

Zach is finally getting to the genre he should theoretically know most: the roguelike deck builder. A staple in the modern indie scene, when it feels like a new one or two comes out monthly. Here, Zach is showing off one of the roguelike deck builders he think is the most interesting: Griftlands.

Happy Birthday!! 🎉
Thank you!
Awesome intro.
Yo the Grunch I friggen love the Grunch on PS1!!!!
You always were a kidder, Steve...
thanks for playing dude
And thank you WadDelz for making such a unique and atmospheric mod. I enjoyed listening to some of the tracks you composed as I did a test recording before we recorded this. It's as relaxing as it is ominous, if that makes any sense haha.
Damn, i thought you were more popular!, Keep up the good work.
That means a lot to us, especially from someone like you that has a Half Life-centered channel. Knowing that we made Half Life content that even you as a big fan can enjoy is very reassuring. Keep up the good work on your end as well!
38:10 I also try to avoid having an opinion on things I haven't experienced myself. One game where I also think "these people are full of it" is "Dustborn". Some of the points people make that I think are disingenuous are: "You are supposed to like Pax" - The description in the game literarily states that Pax doesn't make friends easily and the characters point out that the line between leader and bully isn't clearly defined with Pax "The main characters are supposed to be heroes or victims" - The crew actively chose to become criminals. They knew about the risks and noone forced them to do the heist "The game encourages bullying" - One can make their own choices in the game and one of the recurring theme is to decide wether to use Pax' superpowers or to practice restraint. Pax herself even laments that her powers are only good for hurting people "The songs are propaganda" - The cover-up story for the crew is that they're a punk rock band on tour (a pretty softcore punk band, but still) and the purpose of punk is to provoke. Kinda on you for taking the obvious rage-bait
Wow, we appreciate the extensive review. Yeah the internet so often works in extremes and absolutes that Zach and I can tend to favor personal interest when buying a game over clickbait telling us it's the best or worst thing ever. Dustborn definitely looked cool from the trailer, but with the $30 price tag I've been on the fence about checking it out. Thank you for giving a more nuanced take than what I've tended to see online. Like you implied, When it comes to narratives set in torn apart worlds, characters are naturally stand off-ish, self motivated, and numb for the sake of survival. They aren't always going to be typical likable game protagonists to hit the paragon option on indefinitely. I'll have to see if I feel similar to you when I eventually try the game for myself. Thanks again! - Brandon the B in ABZ
@@abz2888 Playing through a videogame, especially narrative-focused ones does take some time, and people oftentimes have other obligations. That's one of the reasons why I don't play "Arzette: The Jewel of Faramore" currently. People can usually play only one game at a time. I'll probably get it when it goes on discount. The market's kinda flooded.
I have so many young memories of this game yet barley ever beat any of the game Bec of how young I was. I really need to pick this up and replay it
I don't blame your younger self. It can be confusing figuring out where to go sometimes, and the game doesn't always spell out what path to take or where to backtrack to. In some ways that's the challenge and charm of it, but for me it meant a chunk of my playtime was listless wandering. - Brandon: The B in ABZ
to my memory the platform was so slippery in this game it was like I was going through mental torture. The midgame just spams hazards at you. I WISH my brain kept that suppressed!
Well we apologize for any unintended bad memories we brought back. But you have a point, the fishing warehouse level later on with its slippery boxes you have to jump across over a pit filled with enemies was way too much. Thankfully it's not the majority of the game. - Brandon: The B in ABZ
@@abz2888 Yeah, for me it was also scoobies movements. Nevertheless I really liked your video... Do you by chance take recommendations? I have some titles which I recommend glowingly.
@@Angel-Dust-The-Prostitute Thank you! And absolutely. While we tend to pick games we know or are currently playing, we do like to take suggestions from watchers as well. - Brandon: The B in ABZ
@@abz2888 Valkyria Chronicles - An turn based real time strategy 3rd person shooter hybrid with an fire emblem twist. It is made by the same developers who brought us Skies Of Arcadia, and Vyse (The Protagonist of Skies Of Arcadia) makes an Cameo as a controllable unit.
P.S. sorry if I replied too much. You guys are awesome and I wish you the best.
Literally my first game ever. So great seeing this
Wow! I can't imagine what that was like, my first was probably the original Super Mario Bros on NES, so by the time 3D games became a thing, it was like this wow moment of not being able to comprehend moving in a 3D space. - Brandon: The B in ABZ
WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOO, LET'S GOOOOOOOO Edit: Just finished the episode and I thought it was brilliant, I don't care if the gameplay isn't speed run level or perfectionist level. I enjoy the relaxed chats and gameplay and that when stuck, you actually looked at the menu to check objectives, thanks for making an episode 2!
Thank you! We're glad you enjoyed it! I don't promise perfect gameplay, far from it, but we do strive to play the game as well as we can. Most of me getting lost was just me not paying attention because I was focused more on commentary than on gameplay, and I won't blame the game for that.
Soooo many memories came flooding back just now
Glad we could be of service! A number of our episodes do tend to be chosen by our own nostalgia. - Brandon: The B in ABZ
I traded my pacifier for my dads game cube to play this, I was like 7 and like the other commenter was too young to understand what to do so it's fun to see this again
I bet just seeing Scooby-Doo move when you pressed buttons on the controller was good enough. The GameCube was my first 3D console, and it had a lot of strong versions of many games despite the small disc size. - Brandon: The B in ABZ
Hope there'll be more, I love watching your videos and this game is close to my heart
I had this game as a kid I was too young to understand what to do so I kept replaying in start of the game
I did the exact same thing!! Played it recently and honestly I still love this game
Start of the game is amazing. The hub and tutorial alone makes it one of the best Scooby-Doo video games ❤
I had a lot of games like that as a kid. Especially when you didn't have a memory card and are forced to replay the beginning again and again. To me FF7 was just the reactor and that was it lol. - Brandon: The B in ABZ
@@matthewbeck7829 I'm glad to hear you also think it holds up. Despite the sometimes confusing map I'd say I had a good and relaxing time with it. - Brandon: The B in ABZ
@@xXLunatikxXlul What's funny is that I walked right past the tutorial in the video, partly because I forgot it was there. Since it's located behind where you start, I didn't originally discover it even existed until very late in the game lol. I can't speak to what the best Scooby game is, I think I still need to play more. I definitely recommend Creepy Capers on the Game Boy Color though. Amazing art and animation for a GBC game, as well as a solid story. - Brandon: The B in ABZ
Will there be a part 2 ?
Those yellow devices at around 7:20 look an awful lot like PS2's... several years before it was announced.
I can see it, especially the pattern of the grill-like lines on the front. It's pretty uncanny lol. Thanks for the comment.
awesome
Certainly the worst Paper Mario game in the franchise. But also one of the worst Mario games ever made in general.
Thanks, some people with sense about crystal skull!
Awesome!
I have that in the original big box release somewhere. I had fun playing it back in the day. It's not fast-paced, and definitely clunky with its controls compared to modern games, but it's a great exploration experience and story.
By big box do you mean N64 or PC? Either way that's very cool to still have the original box. I'm glad I'm not the only one that appreciates what this game pulled off, despite clearly feeling like this was LucasArts first time making this type of game. The villain especially sticks out in my mind, with how they twist him towards the end in a way that makes him unique from other Indy antagonists. Thanks for the comment and info! -Brandon, the B in ABZ
This series was great, I beat the game alongside it haha, made it slightly bearable
@thenintendoistx Wow! Thank you, that really means a lot to us. I also like to play games alongside watching someone I like play them, so the idea of someone doing that for me is crazy to hear lol. I'm relieved to hear it helped with the frustration, despite how terrible all my gameplay was lol.
14:16
Haha that moment gets a laugh out of me too when I go back to rewatch it. I'm happy it does the same for you! -Brandon
Brandon missed a ring
Haha damn it I knew someone was going to call me out...
Oh my god didn't expect this many laughs from this video 😂 Awesome good job! XD
Hey thanks so much, we're so glad you enjoyed it! It was really fun to record and find mods lol.
Pretty epic game 😂
Agreed! It's really the first Sonic game since I think like Generations that gave me moments where I actually felt hype. It's the most we've actually seen Super Sonic get to show off what he can do, and it made the Titan fights some of the most memorable moments in the series.
That thumbnail though!!
Haha originally I was going to find a frame with Giganto's mod, but it's kinda hard to give the impression of that in a still frame, so female Tails mod it was lol. Glad you like it!
I feel like your sin of replacing undefeatable is easily absolvable because HEEEEY SEXY LADY being timed to the titan roaring is incredible
That's a relief lol, I honestly had no idea before recording how much effort the modder put in to make the music sync up. Thanks for the genuine comment btw, half the time our comments so vague we worry they're AI. If you have any suggestions for games you'd like to see us play we're happy to try whatever.
No problem, and if yall want an oldie but a goodie: cave story is great 👍
@@kharmachaos667 Sorry for the late response, I've actually been practicing and researching Cave Story! I only played it on DSi back in the day but never finished it. The consensus online seems to be that the freeware version by the original developer is best, so we'll probably go with that. I'm not sure if it will be our next video, but it will be coming up soon. I want to make sure I don't embarrass myself with the gameplay lol.
Dude, someone finally made a video about this!!!
I really need to play this at some point. On a random note, Haunted Heights is actually unlocked by beating the game, not through collecting emblems, and it's one of the three challenge stages of the game.
Hey thank you very much for the correction and for watching. It had been sometime since I played the main game and so many mods have extras locked behind emblems, so it slipped my mind. I'm sure that's not the only thing I fumbled either lol. If you have suggestions for other SRB2 mods or games in general you'd like to see us play or try don't hesitate to reach out. - Brandon - The 'B' in ABZ
Sonic style 😅
Poor Brandon! Thank you for playing my game!
Yo this is a nice gameplay keep up the hard work
God damn it’s so nostalgic seeing a let’s play of re4 in years
Really glad you liked the demo! Fortunately, the new build got a new patch to fixes some parts, along with a revamped version of this boss. Still, it was fun watching you guys played it!
Thank you for watching our video! Keep up the excellent work! I always look forward to more!
I think it’s just Sonic and the Mayhem Master, without the last s. Regardless, I’m glad a couple more people are doing this. Mekanikko is pretty underrated overall
Eyyyy going with the original love it <3
The villagers probably left those notes in spanish, and maybe Leon kinda knows how to translate them
And the villagers didn't expect Leon to be fluent in Spanish? That is possible, especially because he speaks it very sparingly. Also thanks for the comment!
nice
Recommended at random by the algorithm, interesting and informative commentary, will check out future videos, cheers
Thank you for checking us out! We appreciate the comment! Hope you continue enjoying the videos!
@31:39 Finally, after all these years, my obscure knowledge of Whose Line inside jokes has paid off.
Whose line is it? Not mine, but I'm glad somebody got it! Thank you for the comment!
Surprised I got recommended this since your channel is so small. Cool channel concept.
