Let's Play #91: Blazing Chrome (STEAM)
I HIGHLY recommend this for any fan of Contra and/or Metal Slug! It has fluent controls, welcoming challenge, and thrilling action! I really like how players can hold up to three extra weapon power-ups! The laser power is MUCH better than the laser in Contra on NES.

I first played this on the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console, and I used the 10 lives code to reach the first boss, but I didn't get far past that. I hope you enjoy watching me play this, and, admittedly, failing in embarrassing ways at times! I have beaten this game on normal difficulty before, but that was years ago. In the final boss stage, I couldn't tell if I was damaging him or not for a while, heh heh... Besides the picky collision detection for the grappling hook, the game is a quite solid platformer, as one would expect from Disne...
