Vespa Cruise fall colors Canada.
Переглядів 1112 місяці тому
A 20 minute drive on a Vespa, on an incredibly warm fall day. It's almost November and Canada is not usually this warm, 20 Celsius . Sorry about the complete lack of editing, my computer struggles to edit 4k and I wanted to keep the quality. Filmed with my Pixel 7 phone strapped to my chin.

Family lore says that my Grandfather bought this 78 record picture disc for my Grandmother when he started his job with the Canadian National Railway. These discs were only produced in 1946-47. So the timing is right. I had a Victrola that I used to play these records on as a kid, but eventually the spring broke, and I had not heard it in years. Luckily I have a friend with a working Victrola, ...
Vespa on display in Catania Sicily Bnb.
Переглядів 4735 місяців тому
We went to Sicily this past April. I rented this bnb because this was in the room. Someone carried it up 6 flights of stairs to get it there. The owner of the bnb said this when asked about it. " The wasp was from my mother when she was 18, it was blue at the beginning I used it for many years. Then they decided with my father to restore it and bring it new, unfortunately a wasp of this kind is...

Found Film 1959 Rome and Egypt
Переглядів 83Рік тому
I bought this film at a Flea Market in Whitby, Ontario, Canada. It and 3 others all belonged to the same family. Who they are, I don't know. I hope that somehow their Descendants will get to see it. Scenes include a Cruise Ship leaving NY, and sailing by the Statue of Liberty, the family enjoying Rome and then Egypt and the Pyramids.

Holy cow! That’s amazing! Thanks for sharing! My cousin went to O’Neil CVI high school back in the late 80s! He worked as an automotive technician after high school at the GM plant.
What was the name of the theater on the south side of King Street near the bar the "Atria" ? Was that the Odeon ?
I lived right where this starts for a number of years. Quite the nostalgia tour of the Shwa.
Is tha Mother's Pizza at around 14:30?
Yes and before that it was Sproul's Grocery store.
Ok. I grew up in Whitby but spent lots of time in Oshawa for work and fun. I remember loving Mother's as a little kid. Was there a train track that ran right near that Mother's, probably out of the North Plant? If yes, where did the track run? Thanks
@@Brackcycle Yes it did, I would have to look up the street names though.
@@Brackcycle I loved Mothers too, I even have a couple of glasses still.
So sad what we lost these last 37 years. This brings back so many memories. Summer of '87' I drove down these roads almost daily working as a construction inspector. It was super hot heat waves back then compared to the cooler summers now.. Don't believe the climate narrative. People were nice and society was cohesive because we were homogeneous racially.
It's gone forever all we have left is memories 💔
I just stumbled across this and it's so cool to see in many different ways. Been here all my life and it's so cool to be able to go back. The roads and buildings and the cars. I was a Chevette fan and I lost count of how many you caught on camera. Mind you they were everywhere and everyone had at least one. Or more. I had several and I'd love to find another one maybe I can use your video's to track one down 😜. Anyway super cool and looking forward to seeing what else you have going on. This is truly a great service what you are doing here. Who doesn't want to go back to simpler times every now and again. 👍👍👍🇨🇦🔧
I thank you for the comments, but Chevettes! Really ? They were awful, not particularly good on gas, horrible braking etc etc. Oshawa was full of them because so many families got the employee discount back then.
🤟😎🤟
@@deanbrown5658 and some unintelligible emojis to you too
Where in Canada are u riding? That would be nice to know. Canada is a big country eh?!😊
@@SherryG370 GTA { Greater Toronto Area)
lol I never watched past Belvedere as it was late last night, but now I watched whole thing, AWESOME!!! From Wanamaker at park and king to old cliff mills, Teddys with north parking WOW list goes on. 👍👍 Let’s not forget the Chevettes lol rofl 🤣
OMG 😢😢 That is my late brother. Yes we lived 2 doors down from Harts, beside Jesons. Best time of my life in the 70s. I have lost everybody ,thank you and God bless you for this 😢. I went back to see if someone got my post or if it worked lol. Who are you? I know internet is crazy , don’t know how to send private message but you have really made me feel a lot better. It has been hard since my Mother’s and brothers passing so short time ago. God Bless Thank You.
Jeff Virgin, I lived at 106 Grandview.
This cruise starts on the street. I was born on which is Belvedere. it drives right by 1125 which is at the corner of Labrador and Belvedere My House. then it drives bythe Mankies house and turns left just passed Mr. Starr‘s house who was a Magnavox dealer In the 70s. I wonder if Michael Mankies s father still has the 71 Chevelle I wonder. then it turns on highway 2 off I believe Eastlawn and goes west towards Grandview. this is beautiful.
Glad you liked my 40 plus year old video. I remember a Meyer family living a couple houses down from the Harts. Little foggy on the details, but I think they moved, as I remember a pretty blonde girl moving in afterward. Jeff Virgin
Had time to think about it, There was Doug Mayer ?
It's so much the same, yet so different. I didn't know there was a gas station at 10:04. Cool!
I have a janome 10001 I can't figure out how to move my needle so that I can get a perfect scant 1/4 " please help
Sorry, I can't help. We bought the machine from my Aunt's estate and found the vhs video with the machine.Since we could find so little about the machine, we thought it might help others.
This is very neat. Living here my whole life I've noticed.....even in this.....Oshawa hates trees and loves huge useless boulevards
Starts on wilson rd, right on bond to ritson, lots of gm buildings still there. To 4 corners at bond and sincoe park , gibbons , left on stevenson, left on king and back to downtown very cool
Plymouth Horizon driving into the Canadian Horizon at 3:04. 😅
Great video
Lol absolutely love it
I was a teenager back then when you filmed this, but I lived next door in Whitby. What's really striking is the easy flow of traffic compared to Oshawa now.
so cool, great history
The dirty Shwa.
Not so much in the 80's large Poppa
@@hopeyoustumbleuponthis.8627 I grant you it was better I lived there then and moved in 2018. Good video.
I was living there then. I was 14. So nice to see again. It went passed my best friends house who passed 17 years after this was taken. Thank you for posting
I was 15 then
I lived off harmony back in 89 good time back then
Before trucks dominated the roadways.
IS THE 1001 THE SAME AS THE 1000?
I lived in Oshawa since 2022, lots of road can't be recognized 😅
I'm Oshawa as fck. ❤❤❤
Great video, roads were so clean. All the old stores and seeing all that's gone.
Cool video. It was taken the year before I started working downtown Oshawa. Some things are exactly the same and some are drastically different. Thank you for posting it!!
I may have missed it but is there a way to change the presser foot pressure? I wish I had found this video a long time ago. Thank you for such a wonderful guide on how to use this machine.
Hi, we are not experts at all. We found the video when we bought my deceased Aunts machine. Thought it might be helpful to others .
It's very helpful.
Just saw this….what a hoot! Cheeky driving on Golf St. And I think it is so funny that the guys don’t utter a word through the whole drive! Loved it!!
To be fair Angela, the camera was on a tripod in the bed of pick-up truck. I am sure we were talking, you just couldn't hear us, because we were in the cab of the truck.
Right! Had a family gathering yesterday….we had all watched it and everyone noticed different things so I am going to watch it again! Thanks for getting back to me!@@hopeyoustumbleuponthis.8627
I was wondering about that too. So what make you guys decide to do that Jeff? Were you budding videographers at that time. Were any other former Donevan students involved?
Loved the lack of military sized vehicles on the road back then compared to now
Back when a truck was a truck, and not a genatalia substitute.
The dirty dirty shwa. Soon to turn into... little Pakistan. Coming soon...
WOW. Oshawa had changed dramatically in 37 years. Also, I love the older cars on the road. I was born in 87 so you may have inadvertently came across my parents 1982 Oldsmoblie Omega drifting about.
Hasn't changed that much
I did a couple of videos driving through Oshawa for summer 2023 posted on my channel.
I remember Christmas ‘64 so well. We were still feeling the pain of JFK’s assassination, the Viet Nam war was about to boil over for another 10 long years, and the Beatles emerged from the shadows.
Wow. I did just stumble upon this and knew the street you left from immediately to my surprise. Considering I grew up on Keewatin St. and went to Athabasca!!
That means you are old like me. 😀
That explains alot

My grad in 1968 was similar...in Penhold AB. The standto in barracks looked much to informal and soft for me and the troop still looked out of shape
These were Special Constables retraining mid career to become regular members. My Dad was close to 50 at the time.
Best video ever! Very clear and precise! Will give a 5 star!
Thank you Cassie, but I can't take credit it for it. Aftermy Aunt died, we bought the machine from her estate. She kept meticulous records of her embroidery files including this vhs tape. I just transferred and posted it. Glad it helps you.
Special peek into a cozy Christmas memory. Thanks for sharing and taking me back to a better time.
Nice sledge hammer
Hmm now you see Teslas everywhere my my has the times changed
I just watched another one of these about a different year. Loved it💝
1989?
Wow! Cool. Oshawa still pretty much looks the same. Expect downtown looks nicer back then, then it does now.
Awesome video... videos like these are why I do videos of cities today.
