Essa música deu início ao meu pequeno ritual de virada do ano, coloquei uma playlist do sagrado feminino, tomei meu banho de ervas e quando fui dançar essa foi a primeira música que me embalou, e Que Força eu senti. Last night I listened to the first few chapters of Russell Brand's audiobook, "Revelations." Among many other things (which happen to be similar to this gorgeous video), he spoke about Kali Yuga. I wonder if the message in this video is an antidote to all this nonsense. One aspect of Kali Yuga is self-obsession through materialism. The book and this video make me think of how much encouragement we humans need these days, and that the only effective means is to observe the sacred in each day- even if it seems mundane. Thanks for this gift, Lola! It's so well produced!! And I didn't know you sing!

Hi Lola, I hope you see this. I’ve been doing your Nia workout routine that you did a few years ago at the movement lab a few times a week. It’s brought me so much joy and respite at difficult time in my life. That is, until today when I went to find the video and it’s gone. I like this dance. What is the staff made of and how do you know what size to use? I only found this one vidio. Are there others on utube?
Thanks D! This is the only class I recorded myself teaching with it but you really can dance or choreograph with it to any music! I don’t remember the size but just make sure you ones that are smaller than your height. The very big ones are harder to move with!

Hi! This is a martial art Jo staff. You can buy online. I teach somatic classes and for this one decided to use them. It isn’t any specific dance. You can put any music and move with it! See what different ways it invites your body to move!
