@lennyboy57 if you would like to pair it with a hardy rod in would recommend the hardy ultralight 10' 2wt. If you want excellent quality for half the price I'd look into the diamondback ideal nymphing rods

So my korkers and shoe size are exactly the same. I wear size 14 in nikes and my korkers fit perfect even over waders

Youre not bothering me at all, I love to help when I can! I've never used the uv knot sense or resin on any of my knots. Just cleanly tied knots has always done it for me. I like orvis tippet just fine but my favorites are trout hunter or cortland with a slight nod towards the cortland. (Seems just a bit stronger, but could just be me)

Hit stony creek and the doe last week caught some nice fish, have you ever been up that way

You tie 2 pieces of tippet together using a triple surgeons knot. It creates a small tag end that comes off your main line and you attach your dropper fly to it. It's a super simple and easy knot to learn! Let me know if you have any more questions!

@@blazingtheoutdoors I’m not sure of the technique name of the style I’ve fished for years but I’ve always tied my vanish mono straight to my floating line in an 8’-10’ section and nymphed. It’s been very effective, however I’m certain I’ve missed a lot of fish that I could have caught using a true euro nymph set up .

@countrylivin9963 that's how I started also when I started flyfishing about 15 years ago. Tie a nymph onto some line I had attached to my floating line and hope I can detect the strike. Like you, caught fish but always knew I was missing alot. When I went to a true euro setup with a euro rod, euro line, leaders, and sighter, using correct tippet setup and tungsten flies...man, I can honestly say I've never caught so many fish before in my life haha. And I'm talking 50-80+ fish on some days in the right water and right situations.

@countrylivin9963 just like anything else though, learning new techniques takes a little time. Euro nymphing is highly effective and the basics are super quick and easy to pick up on. But after years of doing it i still learn new tactics and small tweaks to my techniques all the time. If I could give anybody 1 piece of advice it would be NEVER STOP LEARNING. When you think you've got it all figured out, strive to learn just a little bit more. Something as small as a tiny tweak in your leader setup or something can make all the difference at times!

Thanks! In this video I was using a small Fishpond chest pack. Its really good for shorter trips out on the water when you don't need to carry much gear and everything is quickly accessible right in front of you. This is my usual small stream pack. If I'm going on an all day trip where I need to carry extra stuff; lunch, water, rain jacket, first aid, etc... then I have a guide series orvis sling pack I take.
