How to Get a Longer Life PART 1 | Music Comics
As a professional 🎺 player, Dvorak 9th will always be my favorite finale.
For me Mahlers 9ths symphony is one of the most epic: in most symphonies the end is the climax. In Mahlers 9th it's not that business as usual: That symphony fades out more and more and ends soft and fragile.
You said Euphonium. Instantly, I’m interested.
It would be fantastic to know the orchestras and conductors that play the versions presented in this wonderful video (and the theatres or venus too). Thanks and congrats for it!
Thanks so much, and glad you enjoyed it! We have put all the orchestras and conductors, as well as the original performance video in the description, hope this helps!
2:02 That text effect has me rewinding and rewinding 🔥🔥
Ahh yes the darken blend mode!
This part of the symphony is certainly the best part, the bleak military sound really makes the point very clear without needing any words. It, unlike many other Russian symphonies, does not glorify the military, yet depicts it as a brutal tool that monarchs used to suppress voice and pleading. Whilst the 7th symphony is by far my favourite from Shostakovich, it's no doubt that this is a masterpiece as well.
Love the whole concept of these Obsidian Music UA-cam videos.
Thank you so much, we hope you enjoy our future videos!
there is no question about the Resurrection being number one but I would like to have seen the Bruckner 8 and Shostakovich 7 somewhere on the list as far as "epic" endings...(I dont know the conductor at the end of the mahler but she is definitely a hottie)
Missing Wagner
Sorry. Couldn't watch. Talks me to death. 😢
Mahler 2 is the one.
Thank you for putting tchaikovsky 's 4 th in I think that ending is the best of all also a shame you didn't add Beethoven 5 th end that's epic 😊
No Beethoven 5 th ending ?😮
You compiled a good list but the top ending should be the Mahler 2nd symphony. Its far greater than even the 8th and the marvelous Bruckner. Well, bravo for your inclusion of the gorgeous Atterberg and sorry you excluded the 7th symphony (Lenningrad) by Shostakovich.
This is absolutely amazing! The editing and the music are of highest quality! Great job! Well done.
Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed it! 😊
Probably say a little much emphasis on Russian composers. They're all great....but.....Mahler 5,9, Elgar 2nd, Franck Symphony, Vaughan Williams 4th and others could've been included here....
Go and listen to the wonderful triumph ending of the fourth movement of Kalinnikov Symphony No1 It will astound you!! Michael R
🎉
How perfect sung. A n d in dolby Atmos recorded (I think) very clever to do this separate recording. Would give my horse for more of this.
Love the videos and love how wide of a range they have, most of these type of things have just the classics. A few honorable mentions in my opinion: Beethoven 3, Symphonie Fantastique, Mahler 1, Ives 4, Shostakovich 4, Shostakovich 7, Shostakovich 15, Sibelius 7, Neilson 4, plenty from Vaughan Williams as well, so much good stuff! Keep it up!
Thanks for watching, and glad you enjoyed them! These are some great suggestions, some of those will definitely be in the third video!
@@obsidianmusic303 End if Elgar's first and Sibelius 2 are pretty good,
Better.
THANKS !❤❤❤
The sound in every recording is stunning! Love it.
Where is Medtner's piano concertos and Liszt's totentanz? Literally the most epic works!
Indeed very epic, but unfortunately they aren’t technically symphonies! We might include them in a future video about non-symphony endings though!
Mahler #2. Got that right.
2:36 RIP to the cymbal player's forearms
It’s such a demanding part, but really fun!
Ling Ling can practice 40 hours per day twice a day
Some excellent choices here. Thanks. However, the epic finale to Sibelius 5 is incredible without the need for a huge orchestra.
Thanks for watching! Sibelius 5 really does have an incredible ending!
Excellent selection! Thank you!
Thanks for watching!
How in the world do they not include Beethoven’s 9th??
¡¡¡¡¡¡..... Autenticamente fabulosa Directora Alondra de la Parra.....¡¡¡¡¡¡¡
I read the comments and have edited out comment re talking over music. Thank you for letting the music speak for itself. Agree with your assessment.
Kallinikov 1st and the Franck symphonies have exciting endings, too.
Where is Saint Saens Organ Symphony?
Yes, a very subjective list, but also an excellent one! As many of my fellow commenters have said, that Mahler 2 ending is simply on another level, and to me it represents one of the greatest achievements in symphonic writing in the entire repertoire. If I'm permitted to add my own preferences, the finale of Saint-Saëns 3 is another great one, as are the finales of Brahms 1 and 4 and Schumann 2 and 3 and Dvořák 8. And of course, Beethoven 9.
Thank you for watching, and I’m glad you agreed with our list! Of course you can add your own preferences (they are some great choices), and in fact, we’ve already included most of them in our second video! Beethoven 9: ua-cam.com/video/eu-RP2G41_0/v-deo.htmlsi=-ps81P9YA_OcqTHp&t=1m16s Brahms 1: ua-cam.com/video/eu-RP2G41_0/v-deo.htmlsi=-ps81P9YA_OcqTHp&t=3m22s Saint-Saëns 3: ua-cam.com/video/eu-RP2G41_0/v-deo.htmlsi=-ps81P9YA_OcqTHp&t=8m9s Schumann 2: ua-cam.com/video/eu-RP2G41_0/v-deo.htmlsi=-ps81P9YA_OcqTHp&t=11m50s
@@obsidianmusic303 Awesome! Glad that this worked out, and thanks for the reply!
Get red of the child's voice---this is obviously someone who wasn't even BORN, when these symphonies were created
I am willing to bet nobody watching this video was born before 1878, when Tchaikovsky’s 4th Symphony was written…
I couldn't stand the bla, bla, bla, bla, bla.... really annoying!!!!
13:54 the visual effects here really help convey the beauty of that progression. Also, as a composer of classical music, I feel that quote from Mahler in my soul.
I am a bit disappointed with Dvorak’s 9th that you didn’t talk about the cyclicism that it is famous for, but other than that very nice.
Thanks for your feedback! The recurring themes certainly are really cool!
if you did not talk over the video it would be less annoying
This is painful.
Holst wins every time, as beautiful as Dvorak is.
Where can I find this piece in full? It sounds very interesting.
These are just some little clips we wrote for the video, so it’s not a full piece unfortunately
I was wondering where the music came into play…
Weapon, weapon, weapon, weapon, ahh there it is
wonderful!!🦅
Thank you for watching!
Oh this is pain.
😂
😂
I can’t believe they used Stravinsky at the end.
STRAVINSKY 💯
