If either school used rubber soccer balls in there games back then, there is no telling how much they would be worth today!!! I'm not sure about Colleges in Louisiana, but those up in Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and few a few others did use "rubber soccer balls" in many of there games in the early 1970s. I know High schools used them often between 1967 and 1975, but not as often as stitched soccer balls. Once machine glued soccer balls became popular around 1975, the rubber soccer balls began to be phased out quickly. Today, finding a vintage late 1960s/1970s "game used" school rubber soccer ball is nearly impossible. I know some are still stuffed away in storage bins, garages, etc. If they haven't suffered from dry rot, yet they are badly worn and full of game wear, flat, etc..they could be worth easily over $550 (for what most folks would consider trash).

I’m so glad you posted this. I interviewed him 13 years ago for that 1 semester I went to college for an English paper. They asked us to interview somebody or people we looked up to or inspire us. I remember hanging out with him at the house and just being in awe learning just a small piece of his life and how us Gossiaux’s almost didn’t even exist😮 What an extraordinary man!❤❤❤
