I'd highly recommend "Strong Female Character" by Fern Brady. She's a Scottish comedian that was diagnosed with autism later in life. There are some trigger warnings that go with it, so make sure you know what you're getting into.

I think it's funny how early on in the video you said Elantris incorrectly based on the way that Brandon himself pronounces it. And then later in the video when you actually said it the correct way you corrected yourself and said it was wrong and went back to the incorrect way lol

Im so glad you liked the books! I would recommend you read The Frugal Wizard's Handbook and Skyward. Frugal Wizard is a bit more silly and neither book is in the cosmere. Skyward is the first book in a 4 book series with 3 additional novellas and more books coming. It is a YA sci fi but it feels very fantasy in space to me. I would agree, I dont think Stormlight Archive is for you. It is extremely dense and complex, I love it but it is an epic fantasy and I can't even keep it all straight. I hope you enjoy the rest of Mistborn. Another good one that isn't talked about as much is Warbreaker. The magic is really cool in there. For reference, Elantris was his first published novel, then came Mistborn, then Warbreaker. In those times Hoid was less involved in the stories and him as a narrator was unusual for the secret project books, Yumi and Tress. The short stories in Arcanum Unbounded are also really great but wait until you are finished with Hero of Ages before you read Mistborn Secret History. If you want a taste of Stormlight Edgedancer is a novella from that series also in that book. Its not the best representation of Stormlight but its a fun story to give you a glimpse of the world and magic.

I’m 25 and created my Webkinz account in 2007 when I was 9. I totally relate on that feeling, but I’m fully content and living my best life playing games that make me feel good. Webkinz is one of those games. It helps me relax and I’m happy I found a community online full of adults who also enjoy playing webkinz. ❤️ There is a lot of nostalgia from playing games or watching shows from childhood. It’s almost comfort/therapeutic thing.

Long comment I'm sorry TwT I know how you were expressing the worry over putting your words out there and how they would judge you for your interests but ultimately, as you said, and as I agree with, as I've had things I've enjoyed that I've been nervous to share with anyone due to how I would be viewed seeing how it doesn't line up with the vision people normally have of me but your words are worth having out there, and your hobbies too. The focus should foremost be on acceptance of others interests no matter how strange and quote unquote "childish" it may seem. We all have interests and as long as they give us joy and don't seek to harm others it should be encouraged as a society. I share your interest in similar childhood interests to yours (e.g. Club Penguin, Steven Universe, old flash games, skylanders, hot wheels, and more that I could be naming for hours on end) and I used to hold the same opinion and it took years to break down that sense of shame around the things I loved. If I had a video like this then, I surely would've had those walls broken down much sooner and I'm glad you put this video out there as your reaching out is sure to help someone who comes across this video because some people really need to hear this. I'm glad your able to enjoy your hobbies with a lesser sense of shame then before and I encourage you to be more open about your hobbies with anyone who is willing to listen as even if they don't understand it you're still able to openly express joy over the things you love as I try to do aswell. This video was very great and Im interested to see what else your channel has to offer now and in future.

Loved the read-along! If you want more Brandon and liked the narrated style of Tress, I highly recommend reading Yumi & the Nightmare Painter next. (Then maybe circle back to some of Sanderson’s earlier works like Mistborn trilogy and Elantris before getting to Warbreaker and the Stormlight Archive - and hopefully in time for Stormlight Book 5 this December!) Sanderson is known for his fast-paced third acts/climaxes where everything comes together. Affectionately this is known as “the Sanderlanche.” In terms of your pet peeve about epilogues…that’s not going to get better, sorry. Sometimes the story wraps up before the epilogue and the epilogue is like an MCU teaser for later arcs (mostly in the Stormlight Archive), but more often than not it helps to think of the Epilogue as the final chapter in the book and not anything fancy or skippable. Tress is special not only because it was one of his Secret Project books and the first of those released, but because he wrote it for his wife. (Three of the four* secret projects were written for her.) This book has brought a lot of people to Brandon’s works, and I hope it does the same for you! *I say four here because four were released in 2023 as the main group. There are actually six. Five were written between 2020-2021, with Secret Project Zero being turned into a kid’s graphic novel. Secret Project 5 was written last year I believe, and It was announced last month during Sanderson’s Crowdfunding Campaign for the Stormlight Book 2 10-Year Anniversary Leatherbound.
