what sort of motor is in this?
Erm what the sigma
I love these tiny creations!!!
Much bigger wheel head for throwing
Over $300 now
Music gets weird at 9:54 but beautiful platter! Would also be great to see the end result all glazed and fired at the end, and not just in the thumbnail.
Thank you for your feedback! I will definitely keep that in mind.
Beautiful!
Beautiful, keep up the good work!!!
Thank you!!!
Thank you for sharing!
Nice!!! I love it!
Thank you!!
whow..lovely piece....but that sound...i have several miniwheels...none make this noise....probably you use too much pressure so the wheel will stop spinning when the motor is stilll on...that will kill the little motor in the end....working with a miniwheel is not forcing the clay into the chape you want, but gently guide it...goodluck🙂
That's so true!
hi
Can you use it for trimimg or like a motorized banding wheel
You can, however, there are limits. If you can tolerate the noise and resistance of the wheel, it can be done. I would not recommend it.
what is the biggest project you can make with this? can you make a normal size mug?
Probably not. I just recently uploaded a video showing the difficulties of throwing a large vessel on such a small wheel. Watch the video to see how it worked out. Thanks for the comment!
Such a smol lol pot!!!
Thank you!
Beautiful pieces 🤩🤩, thank you for sharing! Were the pieces bonedry or bisque fired?
The pieces went through the first firing, which is the bisque firing. The second firing is the glaze firing. The Ramekins in the video were being prepared for the second firing. Which is the glaze firing. Thanks for your comment!
I need something that rotates at 60 rpm- not for pottery but for a separate project. Would this machine rotate reliably at 60 rpm? Thanks 👍
According to the packaging, it is adjustable from 0-300 RPM. So, yes!
the lefthanded issue is already explained😉...but the noise you get is from too much friction....using a minaturepottey wheel requiers a very soft plastic clay...and after centering with my fingers(on a high speed) i use mostly the tools to form(low speed)...for the rest its like regular pottery...a lotttt of practice😂😂😂...have fun...you make lovely minipottery.....i am going the reverse way...started with a miniwheel and now bought a bigger tabletopwheel...a steep learningcurve ahead...lol
You are absolutely right! The clay I used was a bit stiff. The next time, a softer clay. It's a whole new experience, I am up for the challenge. Thanks for commenting!
It's not the knob it's the power switch. Going up goes one way flipping it down makes it go the other (clockwise and counter)
Thank you! I will try that as well.
looks amazing!!!
Thank you!
I’ve had this Vevor for a couple of weeks and I’m sending it back. It’s emitting burnt oil smells at higher speeds, the wheel often doesn’t stop turning even when I depress the pedal all the way (I need to give it a gentle downward stomp to stop it), and wiring off and trying to remove pots from the wheel is super frustrating with those hundreds of grooves that go from the center all the way out to the edge. That said, trimming is easier because pots want to stay centred with all those grooves. Another major issue is that the electric controls are on the side, unprotected from water that inevitably runs down (made worse by having a minuscule platform for a water pot. Overall it’s a very frustrating experience and instead I’m going to splurge a bit on a better wheel. I hope yours works out better for you!
Hello, and thank you for sharing your experiences with this pottery wheel. I am so sorry to hear that you are having numerous issues. I plan to test run my new Vevors tomorrow. Hopefully, everything turns out fine. I was lucky with my first two machines that we have been throwing pots on for nearly two years. I will cross my fingers and hope for the best. Thanks for commenting
If you turn the knob up it turns in one direction and if you move it down it turns in the other.
Thank you so much for that! I'm going to try on the next video.
The current wheels do not come with the tools. No biggie. Just got mine. Ordered the foot pedal and it works great! Very heavy duty. You might mention that yours is rotating clockwise so is a left handed wheel.
Thank you for your comment! It's a great buy! I think it has been over five years since I purchased mine and remains in perfect condition. Have fun!
What do you end up doing with the reclaimed clay?
Once the clay has firmed. I measure out sections into 2 lb rounds of clay. Finally, I place them inside of a plastic bag to keep fresh for future use. Thanks!
absolutely stunning video Wow
