@@TheImmigrantNation I have to tell you; I took a wilderness travel course. Learned to navigate snow, desert, mtns with compass and all the necessary backpack of tools & shelter. My dad crossed the desert to come to the US in the 50's. I asked him how he navigated. He said, "I slept in the shade of a bush in the daytime. Then at night, when I was able to see the lights of a city in the horizon, I aimed for that." He passed away 2 yrs ago at almost 90. I never got to ask how, at 17, he carried his 20lbs of balls cuz he had them. Amazing man.
@@abcsandoval Your father's story is truly inspiring. His method of navigation, using the natural world and the city lights as his guide, speaks volumes about his strength and resourcefulness. It's remarkable how he, and many others, have braved such journeys with determination. Even though he's no longer here, the lessons he taught through his actions live on. Thank you for sharing such a meaningful piece of your family's history.
