If you look very closely, they may have removed the ad, but there are Spasm Electronics signs on some buildings. It is not totally gone. I am going to say they took the radio ad out because it's very grating when you hear it all the time.

It would seem that the phrase used in the game advert was probably too close to what was a derogatory term for those with cerebral palsy and was taken from the name of the Spastics Society, which was a charity for those with cerebral palsy, hence the derogatory name "spaz", or spastics, and not the name used in the game advert for Spasm Electronics, so it's understandable why it was removed. The Spastics Society are now known as Scope as the term, spastic or spaz, were deemed derogatory for those with CP and was deemed unacceptable, and rightly so.

When I first heard it was removed I was glad cause I have tourettes syndrome so I'm tired of hearing spaz/spasm all the time plus the part where she mimics a seizure is.. oof. But after hearing this again I'm glad they removed it cause its annoying af

I'm from the US so this word doesn't really mean anything. However, the FIRST thing I remembered when I heard this was Mario Party 8 was recalled in the UK because of the word "spastic." I figured this ad wouldn't last long. It's also annoying as hell. Sounds like something from GTA San Andreas from 2004... set in 1992.

For the person or group they claim it offends as one of the spasers, I am not offended by the ad at all, but the ad may hold more truth than actually offend anyone, because it was electronics and video games and computers that saved my life, so yeah the ad fits us very well. Disabled people used to be looked down on in society the computers and gaming industry gave us a social life made us want to learn how to read, I used to hate reading, but that all changed when I got my first computer game with a manual the size of a dictionary book, and I read for days and weeks, the reason why I hated reading is because I was a slow reader, I didn't learn how to read until I was in 3rd grade, and if that computer and that game didn't come when it did I would have never been able to read.
