Always trust your gut! If RT feels like the right move, DO IT! You got this! At first i wanted to do sonography, then nursing, but RT stole my heart and i knew majoring in RT was the one for me lol

Only thing is there are a lot of but people in the medical field especially in nursing that will make your job hostile because of the culture nursing puts out…. Do nursing so you have to deal with all the hostility
FYI, there are hostile respiratory therapists as well (from a retired RT).
I feel like people start feeling entitled when they get that piece of paper and licensing. No one is humble anymore , everyone wants to feel better then everyone else and demand respect instead of earning it

Thank you for this. I’ve been a stay at home mom for 11 years. I thought all these years I’d eventually go to nursing school but the things that have drove me to RT, you spoke on thoroughly. It’s really nice to hear it come from someone who is a professional and not a student-that drive obviously is carried throughout and valued in the profession. You mentioned al the things that I’ve noticed over the years in the medical industry. There are definitely professionals that lose their desire to be good at their job and not cut corners. I’ve never heard anyone actually address that in such a well-rounded way. Keep up the good work, Blessings.
Every hospital is a “hotspot” especially during flu season when all icu’s and er’s are filled with people. Its nothing new!!!! Only thing “new” is its televised and politicised!

I'm about to finish with my bachelors. I'm the only one in my class that made it all the way through. I'm looking for new opportunities because of it but traveling has been the best so far and want to continue it but I want to get into flight on a children's team

I am getting extremely passionate for this respiratory therapist profession. I am very curious and I really hope to meet with the counselor soon so she or he can go over my plan to proceed with this career this year. I am not sure if my intuition is telling me this RT is for me.
