American converts: I'm Greek, and I've never heard of an "icon corner" or "icon wall" in my entire life, until I saw Americans doing it in social media. No one does this in Europe, it's a weird American thing.
Maybe not a Greek thing, but I have definitely seen icons throughout European homes. Question... what happens to and who buys all of the icons coming from Greece?
@@JayP-u6e Greece received 36 million visitors in 2023. It was the 13th most visited country in the world in international arrivals. When you're going through a highly touristed area, all those souvenir stores are for you. Not for us. That said, Greeks might put one icon or cross/crucifix in each bedroom. The concept of an icon corner or wall with several icons, does not exist in Greece. It's an American thing. Plus I too have been to Ukrainian and Russian homes, and have not seen icon walls. They might have 2 or 3 little ones together in a bedroom. This here, in the video, no one does in Europe.
Graven images. Idolatry runs deep in their hearts.
Right.... So you don't know what you're talking about...
@@orthodoxwarrior youre right, gods wants us to use images to worship him. how silly of me. gods says how much he loves images all over the old test..
@@peterzinya1So if you read the old testament, you'd know He does. He commands Moses to make images of Cherubim on the Tabernacle and in the Temple. And since Jesus is God incarnate, meaning he took on flesh (which is matter), he made matter holy, and we use matter in our worship of God.
@@orthodoxwarrior God told Moses to make 2 cherub's for his Ark. What did god tell you to do? He told you not to make them for yourselves. So Jesus flesh is the same as catholic wood and stone idols? Ive seen some good catholic excuses for their idolatry, but yours is very inventive. bravo. Take ye therefore good heed unto yourselves; for ye saw no manner of similitude on the day that the LORD spake unto you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire: 16Lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female,...Deut 4;15 God said to take good heed unto yourselves, and not make images of male or female. But catholicism is called a false religion for nothing. What ever god hates, catholics love.
@@peterzinya1Funny, because were not even Roman Catholics. Plus, we continue the lineage of Moses and the Old Testament Prophets. If you see ANY representation of the tabernacle, the Temples, you'll see that ln the walls there is imagery, aka iconography. Old synagogues from even before Jesus had Iconography. God isnt against Iconography, hes against worshipping idols, which we dont do....
Where can I get the full list of 70?
Excellent, thank you !
Love this!
God bless you, thank you for the video
I’m Orthodox. I actually think they were vicarious baptisms
Great video!
Great Work Nice Job❤ Amen
Thank you for covering this story. I have wondered what it was like to be one of the 70? What role did they play in the early spreading of the Word of Christ?
What Saint John Of Damascus Wrote, And What Andrew Steven Dammick Said Were Very Helpful About Icons.
where i got good egg tempera colours?
Three years later, the horseshoe is more qualified to run the country.
Beautiful and interesting! I am Roman Catholic, I do have a beautiful icon of Our Lady with baby Jesus.

Wonderful to hear all this.
Why doesn't any GOA chanter/reader ever chant in English, but only reads in a monotone?
Sounds dreadful!
Pray in secret it says in the bible.
She posted one video to show others how to. How long has this video been published? She doesn’t film herself praying.
it also says no images in the bible.
@@peterzinya1 Bible also says that David felt like Jonathan’s love to him was deeper than the love of women 😱 2 Samuel 1:26 NLT: “How I weep for you, my brother Jonathan! Oh, how much I loved you! And your love for me was deep, deeper than the love of women!”
whats your view on the bishop of rome and alexanderia
I'm confused with James, brother of Jesus . Is he the same as son of alpheus? If yes, he is in 12 not 70 numbers
Thanks Sam!
Thank you!
That is very heavy and deep idolatry that you're into... God is against human sacrifice. It is an abomination to God to have the innocent and the righteous die for the sins of the wicked. So they're really couldn't have been a figure like jesus that is condoned by God... Because God promised that the true Messiah will bring eternal peace to the world... But jesus spoke against the promises of God... And said do not think that I have come to bring peace.

Are women and men with long hair supposed to pull their hair back out of the way before kissing an icon in church?
Lovely video!
Thanks for this. Does it have to be a corner. Can I use a piece of a wall
Nice video
Thank you for the wonderful blessed Sunday liturgy!May our Good Lord help us ,have mercy on us and to all His people!!!🙏
cheers
Thank you. This is great information.
lol YOU also are unbiblical
Where is the scripter that states you "need" icons or evan you should worship with icons since Yeshua is the ONLY MEDIATOR between man and GOD! Yes, and also the parents of Yochanan where rightous , but nobody makes a new religion/doctrine out of it! That's all nonsense and adultery.
Adultery? Lol. The tabernacle of Moses was embroidered with Cherubim, icons of Holy people and angels is acceptable and was commanded by God in making the tabernacle
God commanded Moses to make statues of angels. We don't worship i icons lol. Yes there's only 1 mediator between man and God, when we ask saints to pray for us, we ask them to pray to God for us.
You’re rebelling against God, not defending His honour and will. Iconography is quite scriptural, though not necessary.
You’re just one of those Messianic Jewish heretics lol.
I don't even believe we need a mediator to contact. All man is able to believe & trust in the Father.
And and where the holy spirit came from the son or the father or both according Christian orthodox belief
Thank you so much, you have helped me greatly with you well presented and clear thinking video. This is the passage I’m studying for my oral test presentation on my theology training course. There’s an additional point that perhaps might be considered. Thomas clearly doubted the other apostles story of Jesus reappearing, the other apostles had already seen Christ and believed. Thomas also believed when he saw Christ so there’s no real difference in the ‘doubting’ level between the apostles I think?. The critical point is that because, what Thomas said, was heard by Jesus (even though he was not physically present), Jesus used Thomas as a witness to us today. Thomas represents part of us all and he demonstrated that really important part of the Christian faith ie we should remain critical thinkers, test the evidence, be aware of false teachings and teachers. Having tested the evidence Thomas acknowledged Christ as “my Lord and my GOD”. Thomas did not lack courage or dedication to Christ, he’d already shown that he was willing to die for Him John 11:16. Thomas also asked the question to which Jesus replied in John 14:6. Part of the evidence of Christ’s resurrection is based on this particular passage, I’m eternally thankful to Thomas for asking and answering the question that would still be asked had he not been courageous enough to ask.
Icon are painted not ‘written’. Just saying ❤️
The orthodox church says that icons are written
They’re “scripture” for the masses which were historically illiterate. They are written.
@@peri2338 No, it doesn’t.
@@peri2338 No, the church doesn't say that.
Well said
I know when i pray i should face east Ive always thought i am supposed to hang my icons to face east as well, is this wrong? when i pray to the east should my icons face west so i am face to face with them so to speak?
Yes,icon corners are set up in North-east,East or South East direction traditionally.

At around the 5:00 mark, Father says specifically "distrust of government/leadership" is something to repent of, am I understanding this correctly?
A blessed service
