Looks beefy. Now pack the channel with Oakum (hemp fibre) soaked in oil to prevent rust. My 86’ ford fender wells are brand new still. I added a couple access panels for future maintenance too.

If you have the resources I hope you'll just refresh everything in the fuel system. If you can find a brand new fuel tank new fuel lines new fuel pump and rebuilt carburetor. That would probably guarantee reliability. Then if you caught route 66 in Missouri. And sampled all the weed. Then through Oklahoma and sample all the legal weed in Oklahoma. Very cool

Looks awesome but perhaps a fish plate on the inside of the frame is in order as this will make sure the frame never cracks at the weld . JS .

Here in Minnesota, it doesn't matter if God welded the frame back together, it won't pass a DOT inspection without a fishplate on it. Commercial vehicle speaking.

That trim piece behind the back wheel identifies this one as a '62. I had a '62 two door and swapped out the 170 for a 250ci straight six from a '72 Maverick. Talk about a performance improvement. Sure it wasn't a V8, but it was a torque monster in that little Falcon. Have fun with this one.
