Tihijalte - Manufacturing workshop -Transmit to future generations
This workshop is the continuation of our artistic residency which was carried out in Djanet in 2021.
Three workshops were carried out to create a complete process of transmission of TINDI musical heritage to future generations:
-Workshop for manufacturing the traditional Tihijalte instrument which is used for TINDI music
-Introduction workshop to Tihijalte instruments and how to play this instrument
-Writing workshop for TINDI music songs.
This first video which shows how to make the traditional TIHIJALTE instrument, the aim is to transmit this knowledge to future generations but also to create an audiovisual archive which can last over time.
This Workshop was carried out in Djanet (إن بربر) with Aicha Machar who accompanied us during the workshops, she led the workshops with the help of Ferrou Belkhir, an artist and dedicated to safeguarding Algerian Tuareg heritage.
