The Monstera Produces a Great Tasting Fruit!
l have one in zone 10b SW FL
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abutilon_pictum
Would be great to provide genus and species.
It's beautiful
Anyone know it's pros and cons?
Is it an invasive plant? So many Asian plants in the US become incredibly invasive, destroying natural plants in the area.
What zone does it require, to grow ourdoors?
Or, and this is crazy, but go find sarsaparilla root
I guess I should have been more descriptive. This plant, hoja santa, was and is still used in some countries to make old fashioned root beer.
Hey wait!! I saw some of these at whatever big box store but assumed they were another gimmick designed to make monies and not viable for long term indoor plant pots as they were advertising. Didn't know dwarf pineapples were real! Thanks for sharing! Now I have to convince myself not to go back 👀👀
Slapped one by mistake in a Singapore park one rainy day. Never did it again.
Oooo 😮 in my country we call it Silk Cotton Tree, they are beautiful to see, currently have one in my yard
Beautiful flowers! What climate do they need?
My wife's Puerto Rican so I use Latinas in the garden as well.
Das all. Bro I have it in my yard n I know what's is used for
Lantana is the butterfly plant. If you want to attract butterflies this is your plant.
My cousin had one of these when we were children and it never ceased to fascinate us😊
looks a little suspicious
🦇🦇🦇🦇🦇🦇🦇🦇
Interesting! 😊
Welcome to Pandora
Too bad it has A LOT of THORNS. So in my country we treat them as pests
I love those little wide mouths! .
Also, when put underneath a glass dome with some cotton soaked in an anethetic, the plant can be 'put to sleep' and becomes uresponsive to touch until the anesthetic is out of its system
In Spanish (CR) we call it dormilona which roughly translates as The sleepy one
here in Puerto rico its called "moriviví" which means died-lived
That tree is too small to harvest.
relatable, i too curl up when a man touches me
Adult : Sensitve Memosa 6 year olds: Confetti tree
So cute ♥️ Your feather babies....😊
We call it Timari in Trinidad
Also, closing up reveals the thorns along the stem
It what.
I remember when my grandmother planted a mimosa in Weatherford Texas back in 1956... I thought tearing the leaves off we're fun... She tore me a new one 😲😩
We call it "Dont touch me" in Albania
🫨
Morivivi ❤
Beautiful ❤
I hate that plant. The purple one is the worst. Yhr yellow one is friendly though.
Hello. 👋 Please can I get the seed or the plant? Can you help to get it?
i should call her
We call it "Makahiya" in the Philippines 😊
How do you get a start?
We got one o’ these as a house plant. Ours gas variegated leaves, white spots in green. They propitiate from cuttings in water too.
Does it hurt the tree to have its trunk covered like so?
Isbit an invasive or a native? Native plants have natural moderating factors like animals and insects that comtrol their numbers. So which onr is it
This reminds me of this scary podcast i listened to about cave divers who found these veins on the wall that eat people. Cool podcast
Question you can buy this plant and they will grow to the sizes that is in this video have you ever a regular pineapple and did you plant one to see if it will grow to its original large size ?
Yes, I grow both. The most common dwarf is the Ananas Champaca - you can easily find it for sale online. It’s a great ornamental but you wouldn’t enjoy eating it. If you want a really good edible one then the Ananas Comosus Sugarloaf (or just simply “sugarloaf pineapple” is a great option). The dwarfs are easier to grow because you’re not growing them for fruit. The standard edible varieties are harder because you have to keep up with the fertilizer and water regimen or the fruit will be small and subpar.
perfect for midget pizza
Pineapple plants are everywhere in the uk for some reason
But can I eat it? Does it TASTE like a pineapple?
Unfortunately, no. You can technically eat them but there’s no soft or sweet part to them. It’s very bitter. If you want a decorative pineapple that is edible then I would go with Ananas Comosus Variegatus.
The taste is not good, if anyone is wondering 😅
I was!!! This helps my impulse not to go buy one immediately. My wallet thanks you
