@@e2n5r23 my father in laws favorite movie. We have been to Vienna several times an did a “tour” of several of the filming locations. Even had a meal at a restaurant that has a musician playing !the zither all night.

Barbara Laister-Ebner plays the theme for 'The Third Man' / interpeta el tema de 'El Tercer Hombre'. There is hardly a sound more Viennese than that of the zither, and no song more attached to post-war Vienna than the theme for the film 'The Third Man' (1948) by Anton Karas. No hay música más vienesa que la de la cítara austríaca, y no hay pieza más atada a la Viena de la post guerra que el tema de la película 'El Tercer Hombre' (1948) por Anton Karas. A joy to see it in action!

The zither out of it's comfort zone. I think care should be taken in choice of material, tempo and vibe. The zither's voice is unique but I am sure it can hold it's own in new formats.
A bottle neck maybe? Just a thought.
