Understand completely 👍👍 I cut the foam in mine and also have it at the base of a tree….. keep up with good work and merry Christmas to you and your family 👍
@@markerskine4758 merry Christmas to you and yours
I know it would be a lot more design for each battery…. But could the box possibly ever have like slots so the battery just drops in and not move rather than using all the foam, which is still a good protection….. just asking 👍
@markerskine4758 Good question, but that would require lots of different box sizes. The one size fits many is a better option. The investment in that alone would be tremendous. Also, this one mold alone cost me $10,000. It is going to take a lot of sales just to get that back. Not to mention the cost of the product being over $40,000 per design. This box gives you the option to change sizes if needed too.
Great video. I need to get some of your new attach balls and I probably should get a a solar meter. I’ll talk to you after deer season and get your opinion on 30 amp battery kit.
Good looking camera, love the price point.
Not sure if this is correct…., but does it not support 5g network ? Nice camera though 👍
@markerskine4758 no it does not.
When you expecting to get the new 1125s? I'm wanting to buy another 1 in or 2! Hopefully it gets worked out soon. I been watching for a notification! Thanx Mike! Good video!
@troybrake5686 whenever customs releases them. Been 5 weeks and one day now since they pulled the container
I always used a bigger capacity battery to help carry mine thru the winter months. Also Lithium Ion or Lithium Iron Phosphate battery will charge better than lead acid batteries in low sunlight. But they don’t charge well at all in below freezing weather. If you cams are deployed in 0° weather I would suggest using big lead acid batteries on a 20watt, or bigger, solar panel.
And where are you. Minnisota? I have to of your panels for wiseeye cams that keep my cams running around 12v 12.1. And in some shade at some point during the day. They are pointing south. Thanks for the video!
@mikeplitnick5051 we are in South Carolina near Augusta Ga. As long as your power load doesn't exceed the power supply from the panel, you're good. Sounds like that's the case for you.
Awesome video Mike. Great explanation
Good video Mike👍that’s the very reason I bought one of your 30amp battery kits….. its been hammering down for 3 months now still showing 100% thanks again
Thanks, Mike!
Fantastic video,if you format your card in your home computer will that take away the issue or do you have to format in the csmera itself?
@RickyCox-i7b still need to format in the device no matter if a dslr camera or trailcam. This creates a "handshake" between the device and card
Thank you,will be purchasing some things from you

I need to step my camera game up big-time
How do you access the SD card to retrieve the data/files? Also, is the camera locked within the box .. in other words, does the cable pass through the locking holes in the back of the camera? Also, is it difficult to correct the camera's angle when using a security box? When I strap a camera (without a box) to a tree, I often will pick up a stick and slide the stick behind the camera to get just the right angle before tightening the strap. I may adjust it several times before I get it just right. Some cameras even have a metal toothed bracket on the back to facilitate this adjustment. Does the Camlockbox make it difficult to "fine tune" the camera's alignment? Is there a reason that you do not use a security box.
@pookinsp2324 to access the sd card you would need to unlock and open the box. Being a cellular camera that sends photos and or videos to your phone I don't see the need to retrieve the card. Yes the cable passes through the box and back of camera. Camlock box makes a heavy duty swivel ball mount that bolts to the back of the box that makes fine tuning the angle really simple. Many do like you and use a pine comb or stick. I don't use security boxes because I hunt private land and in 20 plus years of running cameras have never had one stolen. I also don't have bears to worry with.
I seen you got those in stock in my email! What is the status on the 1125s? Still a hold on the container?
@@troybrake5686 customs still in possession of them. The agent is not getting any response from customs.

I made these style (Yagi) antennas for years. Only way to go if in a fringe area. But you need to know where the cell towers are. There are web sites on the internet that will tell you their locations and will show satellite views.
@jacksprat7087 Correct these work really well. I sell more than 1000 per year because they do. These actuality aren't traditional yagi. These are a log periodic antenna, which has a wider bandwidth. With so many towers in some areas I find that the obvious tower isn't always the one the camera chooses. It can take lots of attempts to find the correct tower, then there is the terrain issue. In some parts of the country, terrain can affect where the signal comes from and which direction is best to aim the antenna.
These antennas are the real deal. I do exactly as Mike demonstrates and typically go from 0-1 bars to 2-3 bars no problem.
@bmalone0688 thank you
Happy thanksgiving. Yeah that should work in the direction the tower is in if there’s no concrete obstruction. Also if you notice , some nights you’ll get way more pictures of smaller animals or birds. Usually tropospheric ducting is taking place. Generally when it’s foggy out.
@JayN4GO happy Thanksgiving to you. Thanks for watching. The main point of this video was because I have some customers, despite our detailed setup instructions included with the antenna, who just stick it up in the air and expect it to work without spending time to aim it correctly.
Thanks Bud 👍🏻
Good job on instructions had same problem pushing in sim card

How it’s work
I have tactacam reveal gen 1 cameras and I had no real issues with battery life using AA lithium (about 4 months) I then added a couple tactacam solar panels to cameras in hard to reach sensitive areas for deer hunting. This was a very shaded area and I didn’t give it much thought to be honest. After about 2 weeks with the panels in place and a fresh set of AA batteries I started getting low battery notifications. This has happened multiple times now and the cameras won’t get more than two weeks on a set of lithium batteries. 3-4 days on alkaline. I’ve updated to the latest firmware. Tactacam customer support said I needed to send the cameras in for service. Would you have any suggestions to try before I send in the cameras?
@samrichmond2940 I guess my question would be, does battery life without the panels go back to normal? The Tactacam panels are pretty small to begin with so any shade really makes it almost impossible for them to recharge their internal battery while connected to a camera.
@ no the removal of the panels did not revert the cameras to the previous battery life capacity. I’m considering building the ammo boxes since I hunt private property and don’t have to worry much about theft.

I just wanted to throw ly experience in. I just bought 5 of these to test them out, and it literally took me about 10 minutes or so to build all 5 boxes and throw the batteries( 12v 15ah) in. FYI.... regarding even larger solar panels that were mentioned in the video: As long the output voltage is correct and not over 23V or whatever it allows, a 100W or 1000 watt panel is still just a voltage source. You could have a 50W or a 5000 watt panel and as long as the output voltage is within an acceptable range (such as 9-22VDC) the current draw will still be set by the load (the camera in this case). Naturally, larger panels tend to be designed to put out higher voltages such as 28V, 48V etc and those should not be used with the camera. Any voltage below the camera limit can have more "power" available which is simply the ability to output more current if the load called for it. With a panel large enough that it's not pulled down by the load then the LOAD itself will set the current draw. If it's cloudy and the panel drops to 15V or something less then the current may drop off, but keep in mind that the load (the trail camera) is actually determining how much current to draw or not as long as the source is online within the right voltage range. The charging circuit in the camera will draw what it wants within reason and as long as the voltage source has enough capacity to not get drawn down by it, then the camera will pull the correct amount until it's full. Then while the panel is STILL putting out 22V the current will be zero, because the charge circuit of the camera shut off and isn't completing the circuit anymore. The Spartan live GL-ALTEb charge circuit appears to be set to a fixed power delivery rate of 1.0 watts and will adjust the current up/down to get to that value if it can. I measured using a regulated industrial power supply with some accurate Fluke Meters and tested all levels from 7 to 15V to see what the camera is doing. Here are the results with a partially discharged Spartan 4V internal battery measured at the DC input socket/solar panel output. 7V or below it's not charging. 7.3V input = 0mA. not charging 7.4V = 14mA... 7.6V = 60mA charging slowly 8.0V = 130mA starts charging. 8.0V x .130mA = 1.0 watts charge rate 9V = 118mA = 1.06 watts charge rate (it is adjusting the current to stay at 1W rate) 10V = 106mA = 1.06watts charge rate 11V = 100mA = 1 watt rate 12V =85mA = 1 watt rate 13V = 86mA = 1 watt rate 14V = 80mA = 1 watt rate 15V = 74mA = 1 watt rate I didn't run it up to 22V but presume the pattern would remain the same. Eventually it will stop pulling any current when it's full, which is correct. The charging circuit tends to remain off from that point unless the battery discharges enough or if you remove the voltage source and reapply it then it will start again. But, it won't take long to finish the 2nd time if it's already full. The most i've seen it draw is 0.13Amps, = 130mA while charging with a voltage a bit lower than it likes, such as 8 -9V. Once you get up to 12V or 14 then the current drops down to maintain the 1W charge rate. In full sun even a small 5 watt panel would be plenty because it can output more than the camera takes. A 5W panel can output around 415mA and has no trouble with a 100mA load. However, with clouds and leaves in the way a larger panel is more reliable since it can charge even on cloudy days or when partially blocked by snow or leaves. Or go with one of the new solar panels with a battery onboard. Hopefully that's helpful to someone. Dave .
I've built 2 boxes for Moultrie Edge, works great!
