Really digged Timeline 2 especially having McKellen come back for Day of The Doctor. I would kill to see his 11th Doctor interacting with Hurt's War Doctor. I also love how McKellen helps to better justify Smith's Doctor as the last incarnation of The Doctor's original Regeneration cycle. Now here's a somewhat relating suggestion: What if Paul McGann RETURNED as The 12th Doctor? In this timeline, The Doctor's returning face after starting his new regeneration cycle is now of a previous incarnation instead of a previous key side character. Let's say that as he's brain storming ideas for the 50th Anniversary special, Moffat then decides to finally give McGann his series as he decides to not only bring him back as The 8th Doctor for Night of The Doctor, but to also make him the next Doctor after Matt Smith makes his leave!

Timeline 1 was probably my favorite of the two timelines, although I would have had 11 create the Metacrisis Doctor earlier and have 11 just barely be in the episode since in my opinion it’s not really fair to have a story switch Doctors halfway through so I think that would make it better. Everything else about Timeline 1 I love having Matt ending up doing 4 full series, plus Jenna now getting a full proper season with Matt, and also just having Peter in the Day of the Doctor with John, David, and Matt just sounds like a good time

for the first timeline i thought it was pretty good i would have loved to see twelve play in big part in the 50th also it would have been great to see a modern doctor make it to 4 series instead of just 3 and x amount of special we have gotten so far with every doctor [apart from nine] the only problem i had with it would be a few plot holes like gallifrey being back before dotd or how missy or sacha masrers exist if the master didn't get resurrection in end of time trough saying that i could see that being fix by having the arethct be the lady from last of the timelords behaps have her bring him back as a last ditch effort to get rid of the doctor once and for all only to had simm master rebel in the end and defeat her other that i do like the first timeline 8 out 10 contune in reply

I just hope he went out with better last words than "I'm regenerating". For me, that was the clue they were getting around it somehow. As someone who wasn't a fan of 10, I love this video. Bravo.

Hey I have another episode suggestion that you could do for your what if season 2/15 had thirteen episodes. This one is actually a Dalek episode. Doesn't have to come after Refuge it could be later on, which is basically an introduction to a Dalek redesign which is basically the Daleks of the potential Dalek spin-off series that Refuge is essentially meant to be the back door pilot to that very series. Also I think the first timeline version I like more. Though the one with Ian would be nice as well.

Let me just say this... I liked the 10th Doctor a lot. Matt Smith is still my favorite modern era Doctor... but I enjoyed all of the pre-Chibnall Nu Who Doctors. When Tennant's final full season ended and the specials were announced, I was a bit disappointed... because I would have preferred to get a full season. I understood why this was done (he was going off to do Shakespeare with Patrick Stewart, I think was the reason)... but I still wanted than we were going to be getting. When Tennant's departure after the specials was announced, I found that to be a little frustrating and annoying, to be honest. I was waiting for a full 4th series for Doctor #10... which never came. At the time, I wondered why they didn't have him regenerate at the end of his third season (leaving the identity of the 11th Doctor ambiguous - like when Patrick Troughton regenerated)... and then use the year of specials to do something else. RTD was also leaving with David Tennant... and I think, in my head, that final RTD year could've been better used to give say, Paul McGann a spin off miniseries. So the 8th Doctor could get a little more t.v. time. And then Stephen Moffat could come in and cast the (then) new Doctor - which still would've been Matt Smith and the series (and maybe the 8th Doctor series too) could continue on from there (as it did). In the end, I think if Tennant had come back after the year of Specials to do one more full season, I think it would've felt less like a wasted year.

I still wish RTD had used David Tennant's season of specials to do a full 8th Doctor mini-series. I still believe that was a missed opportunity. An alternative would been to just do a companion series running alongside David Tennant full seasons. Because during the 10th Doctor era... the show got phenomenally popular (it finally shed it's cult status). The BBC had to be raking in the cash with all the licensing and such. And RTD expanded the Whoniverse back then by giving us "Torchwood" and "The Sarah Jane Adventures". Why not an 8th Doctor series too? In retrospect, I enjoyed Christopher Eccleston's season too much to be denied his Doctor just to give Paul McGann some more screen time. Not that McGann didnt deserve to come back and be a t.v. Doctor like everyone else (I'm still ticked off that we're getting a Sea Devils series over an 8th Doctor show). I just think too much of what we got back then was really good and I wouldn't want to lose that. And looking at it from a Timey-Whimey point of view... it might've radically changed the series if he had been the Doctor in Series 1. Top of the list is... he might not have left after 1 season... so we might not have gotten any of the Doctors we eventually did get in Nu Who. And while I'm not nearly as fond of the most recent 3 Doctors... I can't imagine the series without Eccleston, Tennant, Smith and Capaldi (they were all great in their own way).

This video is very interesting. I was just thinking about a "what if" scenario where Tom Baker left the series after four years!! If he had, I think actor David Collings(Robots of Death, Mawdryn Undead)would have been an excellent 'Doctor'!!!

My favorite Doctor next to the 10th Doctor and the others... Paul McGann is so underrated and legendary... And he played Golic in Alien ³ (1992), which is creepy as all hell...

I always liked this idea. I wouldn't want someone like the Monk to be retconned into being the Master, because he's a pretty distinct villainous Time Lord. He's no more like the Master than the Rani is. The War Chief, on the other hand, is so much of a proto-Master in both look and MO, I almost feel like they SHOULD be amalgamated in the canon, like it's narratively clunky having them both running around in the Universe. I also always got the impression, at least from reading snippets about the expanded media on the Doctor Who wiki, that there's a lot of implication that Delgado's is the 13th incarnation, and he's the one who gets grievously injured and turns into the "Crispy" Pratt/Beavers Master that fights Tom Baker twice. This line of thinking is supported by the fact that when Crispy fuses with Tremas, the form he takes looks like Tremas cosplaying the Delgado Master (then again, if we're accepting the War Chief = Master conclusion, then multiple incarnations of the Master would have had similar beards and haircuts, so Crispy could have been any version) While I'm sure there could be a lot of equally compelling stuff in the expanded media that says Delgado WASN'T #13 (I personally love that shot of Delgado regenerating in that 11th Doctor comic) I like to believe he is. It makes sense that someone who lives a life grounded in betrayal and backstabbing would go through regenerations a bit more brazenly than the Doctor did. AND that means there are twelve previous versions we don't know anything about, which is prime storytelling real estate, with plenty of room to throw the War Chief and his one sparse appearance in. And really, what are we losing if we make The War Chief the Master? Some Gallifrey backstory with The Deca? See above for why the War Chief isn't different enough for that to matter.

Do some companion what ifs like if they stay on for another season

He always was. And it was obvious. And then, after the show was off the air, came the "New Adventures" with their Looms, Time's Champion, Pythian Curses and Cwejs. They were full of plot holes, badly written fan fiction. Somebody posted the idea thst Divided Loyalties, and the Deca, was a spoof/parody of the worst excesses of the Virgin books, and it actually makes a lot of sense.

Perhaps, instead of giving Colin Baker the sack, they could have had alternating stories with him and with Patrick Troughton, with a plot thread running through them all, leading up to the final story of the season in which both Doctors reunite to fight a particularly powerful foe. This would allow the series to clear up the plot hole of how The Two Doctors appeared to happen after The War Games in the Doctor's timeline but with him still not yet regenerated into the Third Doctor; he has a further few adventures as the Second Doctor, under the "direction" of the Time Lord Council. Then, at the end, we see TWO regenerations on screen at the same time: Troughton's Doctor regenerates into Pertwee's, and then he disappears into his own time stream, dovetailing into the beginning of Spearhead From Space, while Baker's Doctor regenerates into the Seventh Doctor, whoever he or she may be.
