Pearl Compact Traveler review
Переглядів 53 тис.7 років тому
Although I usually upload electronic drum videos, I've been testing the new Pearl Compact Traveler kit - a two-piece busking/practice kit. There have been a few review videos, but I thought I'd try to capture the sounds in detail, with no external mics or FX. There's a full written review on Facebook.

      @@donceldrums7917 I don’t usually mic the kit on live performance. The snare is really crappy so I use a 12” Pork Pie SD and use the pearl snare as a tom.

    most drummers are massively EXCESSIVE... in volume, kit size, etc. NOT SMART. (Gimme a tiny jazz kit and a drummer who can play it well!)

    Well I've asked several people that have reviewed this about the volume. Is it to loud to play with vocal and acoustic guitar that is not amped up? Thanks!

    • @massimomarianimusic
      @massimomarianimusic 5 років тому

      This kinda depends on the drummer. But I would def say that it's a great option for acoustic sets

    Hi, do you find the loudness of the l80's comparable to that of a rubber cymbal pad? In this video the rubber one sounds more dull or thuddy but not much quieter.

  • @ilvdico
    @ilvdico 6 років тому

    Good demostration! Does the triggers dampen the natural sound from the cymbal? Its a bit hard to tell. I have these cymbals and love them. I wonder what would happen if you put a trigger on the hi hats? :)

  • @profet15
    @profet15 6 років тому

    Sorry for the dum question but I'm still a noob... Does the trigger make the L80 sound louder or does the sound come from somewhere else ?

    • @DoblyTufnell
      @DoblyTufnell 6 років тому

      :) The 'trigger' picks up the strike on the cymbal and sends it to a drum module. That module reads how hard the cymbal was hit and plays the selected sound. In the case above that sound was a crash cymbal. But it could have sounded like a china, ride, splash or even a snare drum if they wanted.
