Sweet walk in fill Parasol mushrooms and all - they're good for eating. Good to see the trail star out. Re-the stove I have an Evernew - yeah expensive but nice and super light. Well, the weather turned out alright. I imagine it was a nice stroll back in. All the best. Mark
@WyeExplorer Yep evernew are top quality, there's no denying that mate. It was a beautiful walk in and out Mark. ATB Phil
@@fillswildwalks106 They are fill although oddly I prefer yo use my heavy Crusader. You can throw anything at it. Good to hear of the walk.
Great to see someone else camping on the NYM. New sub pal 👍🏻
Cheers Phil and as always some interesting kit you have. ATB 🍻
@DaveGoodman1959 Thanks Dave, appreciate your comments as always mate 🙂 ATB Phil
Outstanding scenery friend! Area looks amazing
@@ervinslens Thanks, it's one of my favourite places to camp. ATB Phil
Loved the approach in and the eventual pitch. Didn't see 30-odd people there. I'm digging that tent - 1100 g. Not bad. Well, good going. Mark
@WyeExplorer Thanks Mark, much appreciated 🙂 ATB Phil
@@fillswildwalks106 A pleasure Phil. It was a good one. Have a cool week ahead.
Really relaxing and enjoyable video! New sub from us! We're from south Wales and often do wild camps there but dying to get up north and do some camps like you have yourself, looks stunning up there. Thank you for the video, all the best.
@Roam.Outdoors Thanks, much appreciated. I don't live too far from the north yorkshire moors & the east coast, so tend to head there over the winter months. During the summer I enjoy the peaks, lakes and dales. I definitely need to head to Wales soon as I don't camp there very often. ATB Phil
Very relaxing and enjoyable walk 🥾thank you for sharing!
@@HillfortLady Thank you 😊 ATB Phil
canny adventure mate. The litewave is interesting although the colour puts me off! seen Andy Beavers use one recently and rates it highly. ATb Steven
@thegeordiewildcamper Thanks Steven. In the right conditions it's a great tent, I love the ease of pitching. But I do think it's more suited to cold conditions with a bit if a breeze to prevent condensation. ATB Phil
Always a pleasure to watch one of your adventures Phil, I wondered if you have diabetes listening to you talk about food types. ATB 🙏👍🏕️
@DaveGoodman1959 Thanks Dave, much appreciated. No i don't have diabetes, I was having stomach/bowel issues from eating too much wheat and sugar, plus I had put on a fair bit of weight. Once I stopped eating carbs my health improved massively. My mum was diagnosed with diabetes so she went on the keto diet, the same as me. 2 years later she has normal blood pressure and no longer has diabetes 🙂 ATB Phil
@ That’s great it’s helped you both Phil, got to look after your dear mum. I got diagnosed with pre diabetes a couple of years ago and too many carbs or sugar does affect me too a bit these days. Kind regards
@DaveGoodman1959 we are fast approaching a health crisis Dave. To much sugar, processed foods and over processed vegetable oils are causing bodily inflammation, which leads to a number of different diseases. And the Drs would rather give you pills than tell you to change your lifestyle unfortunately. Since I've changed my diet I've never felt better. Diabetes is a terrible disease. ATB Phil
Did find a "sharwoods chicki tikka" rice pot noodle thing other day. It had real chicken bits in it all for £1.80 in local sainsburys. Do a butter and korma chicken ones too. Better than a £10 freeze dried job. 2 pieces of bread n butter and a meal fit for a king😊😊🇬🇧🙏🤲
Great stuff in God's own country.. Dehydrated Victoria sponge and a bucket of tea please😊👍🏼🫡
@fraserconnell21 north yorkshire is definitely God's own country 🙂 ATB Phil
Ay up dude, looks good, but a bit too cool for me 😊

@@fillswildwalks106 Welcome.
Ahh you just can’t beat Wharfdale Phil, I’ve had so many holidays there. Shame about the windy night and makes me think will my new tent stand up to a bit of wind, my notch has always surprised me we shall see how the double rainbow li gets on. Yes I have a real fancy for a trip to the Dales given a good spell or maybe that Lakeland Way. 🍻👍😊🙏
@DaveGoodman1959 It's a beautiful area Dave, one of my favourites. If I was alone, I'd have probably hung around until sun rise, but chili just wouldn't settle unfortunately. I like the look of the double rainbow, be interested to see how it performs. ATB Phil
Lovely video, beautiful views 👍🏻
@@addp5222 Thanks 😊 ATB Phil
You never know how a trip will pan out Phil, I’m sure you made the best of it and I hope Dans knee improves. I’ve had bad knees myself on and off all my life and sometimes can take years to get better. 🙏 You’re trip reminds me of the two hiking holidays I had in the Pyrenees leading a small group and I occasionally get eczema on my feet triggered by heat, this happened about a week in to the trip and I got blood poisoning from infection. I didn’t really know what was happening to me I just said to the guys I need to get to a hospital, so the trip was over for us all. They sorted me out and like you we just relaxed for a few days before the flight home. Anyway ATB Phil and guys and catch you soon. 🍻
@DaveGoodman1959 very true Dave, best laid plans and all that. Injuries can clear up quickly or take months, as you said Dave, I also know from personal experience. We made the best of the time we had there and enjoyed it, that was the main thing. ATB Phil
Such a beautiful and atmospheric scenery my friend! Place looks great!

nice camp Phil, shelter is not to shabby either! always found the scarp to be really solid bit of kit. ATB steven

I didn't get a hello, just swooped down a few times. You're privileged 🤣
@@chrisweldon2817 😆😆 I was confused before I was privileged 😆😆
I really enjoyed that Phil, lovely to see Chilli doing a long walk like that she looked knackered when you got to camp. Yes probably my favourite area around there and a great spot to camp the weather was really nice, yes it looks a great tent and should probably have one for the winter. I’m not sure your route up it may have been Abney clough or Howden clough but right of the brook ? ATB Phil and catch you soon. 👍🏕️😊
@DaveGoodman1959 I love that area too Dave, very quiet and beautiful, especially if you have the weather. Poor chili was tired out, but raring to go again in the morning. Well spotted, it was Abney clough, 1st time I've hiked that path, it was very enjoyable. ATB Phil
Nice hike and camp Phil , very atmospheric in the morning and a nice new shelter so all is good atb Dave ⛺️👍
@BorderRambler Thanks Dave, I must admit I really enjoyed the full day and night. ATB Phil
You want look out for one of those hut things that you can sleep in Forgot the name I saw a video of a gent staying in one they are brilliant They have food what people leave and it's brilliant...only basic but the moors can be quite daunting sometimes with the weather Becky 🇬🇧 🇬🇧 Big hug to chilly 🤗 Really enjoyed the sunset and your tent looked cosy Nice have you time with your chilly ❤ and then sun in the morning...wakes you refreshed for the day

looking forward to meeting chilli🐕
Another great camping location, love that shot, is it a time lapse, all the clouds zooming past, sunset and sunrise, magic, im sure you got a shooting star in that😁👍
@WildBorkysadventures Thanks 😊 yes it's a time lapse shot, looks best when it's cloudy. ATB Phil

"North York Moors" as it says in the first few seconds of the video 😊
What a great night out with the pooch and a lovely little spot amongst those trees too. Thanks not too far away from Helens friend in Pollington where I cycled to from home a few weeks back. Sure was a heavy pack for you Phil. ATB and catch you soon. 👍🏕️
@DaveGoodman1959 Thanks Dave, sorry I missed your comment, but yes my pack was pretty heavy, felt like my winter pack 😄 ATB Phil
A nice walk in Phil and decent set up there what with the Lightwave. Re-the tarp - always a neat idea to have a space to kick back in. I think your dog took to it also. Well, good going. Mark
@WyeExplorer Thanks Mark. It's the 1st time I've used a tarp like that and I really liked it, better than stuck inside a tent when the rain comes. ATB Phil
@@fillswildwalks106 A pleasure Phil. Yeah, my twin brother used to put one up when we would go out. I always enjoyed it.
Good going Phil - fill view. A nice pace and a mellow feel throughout the stretch. No weather issues - all on your side. All the best. Mark
@WyeExplorer Thanks Mark, it was a very enjoyable trip. A steady pace and plenty of breaks, one of the benefits of hiking alone. ATB Phil
@@fillswildwalks106 Hey, good to hear Phil. Nothing better than getting into the rhythm of the trail.
Didn’t we enjoy that weather while it lasted Phil I wish it would come back but looks like we are in for a long unsettled spell again. Interesting kit as usual but I didn’t catch the name of that tent? Like my notch unless it’s pretty flat the inner never hangs right. ATB Phil 🍻🏕️
@DaveGoodman1959 we definitely did Dave, I can't believe we're in for more rain 😒 the tent is the hyperlite Mountain Gear echo 1, a modular shelter with separate tarp, beak and inner. They don't make it anymore, I think I'll be using it mainly as just the tarp with one of my bivis. I think some shelters are like that, especially DCF, you almost need a lawn to get a decent pitch. ATB Phil
Fab video yuu camped near reighton sands what a view
Thanks 🙂 ATB Phil
Although no wild camp Fill/Phil it was still 'green to the door' as Wordsworth once said. A bit of rain but no hitches really - love a nice 50 mile. All the best. Mark
Thanks Mark, always appreciate your comments mate 🙂 ATB Phil
@@fillswildwalks106 A pleasure there Phil.
A really good first day on the trail Phil/fill. Enjoyed the blue skies and the relaxed start. A bummer you couldn't find a wild camp but the site you eventually pitched up in had a pretty good view. I'm liking your light set up. All the best. Mark
Thanks Mark. The lack of wild camps on this trip was disappointing, but as you say, the campsites certainly made up for it. ATB Phil
@@fillswildwalks106 A pleasure Phil. Yeah, we do like to find a spot to tuck in - good to hear it worked out though.
Lovely mini series, as usual. Thanks for filming. Billy no mates this time Phil?
Thanks, much appreciated 🙂 Other than the ullswater way I did a few weeks ago, this is the 1st long distance trip I've done alone, I wanted to experience what it would be like. ATB Phil
Hi Phil great videos of the Northumberland coast I am walking from the Scottish border to Tynemouth for charity this coming July and was hoping to wild camp and watching this there looks to be plenty of sites but can I ask were you asked to move on at all Yakker
Hi, thanks. There are plenty of pitching opportunities along the coast and no we weren't asked to move on and we pitched quite early a few times so I think you'll be fine. It's a beautiful stretch of the British coastline, I'm sure you'll really enjoy it. Good luck and all the best Phil
Looked like a great hike and camp, thanks for sharing 👍👍
Thanks Stuart ATB Phil
This looks like a good walk Phil, I remember you doing it last time! Think I'll give it a go if there's a 2 day dry window!🤔 TFS, cheers Alistair 👍
Thanks Alistair. It's a beautiful walk, definitely worth doing. Personally I wouldn't bother with the 2 extra loops, I don't think they added anything extra to the hike. ATB Phil
Looked an enjoyable trip Phil , liking the new shelter ⛺️👍
Thanks Dave. I highly recommend it, it's a beautiful hike. Once the repairs are done it'll be perfect 👌 ATB Phil
What a nice casual hike Phil, that chair looks interesting as nice and light You must be worse than me of late for not getting out much. ATB 🍻👍🏕️
Thanks Dave. It's a beautiful hike, I can't recommend it enough. That chair works really well, so light you can bring it on every trip. The weather just hasn't fallen right for me at all, but I've just completed the Nidderdale Way too, so hopefully more trips to come. ATB Phil
Great video, didn't t recognise that area of the Peaks. Looks like a great area to explore.
Thanks Stuart. It's a beautiful area, my 1st time there. A friend recommended it to me. ATB Phil
Yes , sir😊
Cheers Phil, great video and a nice camp spot too. Yes you could tell that you seemed to really enjoy that one. Apart from the PW I’ve never explored that area it’s just a bit awkward to get to but you never know. Cheers 🍺
Thanks Dave, I really enjoyed the valley camp, normally somewhere I avoid, but I definitely made the right decision. It's a beautiful area, nice and quiet, I'll definitely be heading back there at some point. ATB Phil
Lovely stuff Phil. Love that area
Thanks mate, it was really quiet, which is definitely appealing. ATB Phil
Gr8 vid bro. I'm doing it from the 29th of April through to the 6th of May. Will there be midges?
Thanks 🙂 No you'll be fine, midges start coming out late May/early June. ATB Phil
@@fillswildwalks106 thanks bro 👍🏼
nice review. i was originally thinking of getting the cricket but at 66 years old, and up twice a night to pee i don't think i'd like the crawl in & out! do you think there's enough room for me & my 50lb 4 legged hiking buddy?
Thanks. If you're planning on using a single inner then no, your dog wouldn't fit, if you were using bivi then maybe. Although with an A frame pitch it might work. Check out my latest video, I'm using a Bonfus double inner with an A frame pitch and there is a lot of room. I do think a duomid would probably work better for you and your dog or a hyperlite Mountain Gear Ultamid 2 if you fancy splashing the cash, I've also done a short review on one of those too. ATB Phil
