The hunting badge “balls “ could be ivory from elk/red stag
Dante, is the recon or night fighter clasp still available?
@@RadioRvK available but not posted yet. Look for them next week.
I wish I could one day own a dagger of my own. I never even been in the same vicinity as an authentic WWII German dagger in my life before.
You can find ones with condition issues for 300-400
Great to see these educational videos. This may be niche but visor caps and fakes would make a good video. That’s not a subject ever covered.
Dude, you are one of the few people that actually sit down and talk about maybe fakes.I watch a lot of UA-cam about this hobby so thank you.
@@tomstreet5266 glad you enjoy the videos!
Nice video Dante. They are technically against regulation but like you say there are a ton of them out there both silver and gold with consistent finishes so they have some credibility with collectors.
Hey great video love how u zoomed in on the detail. Keep up the good work on the finer details of awards as its really handy 🍻 Quick question how did ze germans go about replacing medals if they lost them in combat off their uniforms?
@@squidgypoppet they would have order a new one. Their superiors could get them or they could buy spares privately.
Thanks for asking this often wandered this ? Myself. thanks friend.
So from my understanding these are made for the GIs right after the war so the factories could earn some money while they still had a lot !!! of these badges laying around so they spray painted them and sold them as real to the US troops.
Right, the problem is there is no proof of that. So it’s just as likely that the opposite is true.
Thanks for the info! Never seen this version WB before. Wonder if this maker has any other hollow back badges with a similar set up for comparison. I find the design a little lacking in detail, particularly the leaves. There are fake hollow back badges and anyone with the resources to do die stamping could certainly do a top notch paint job. My gut says no good, but it’s just my gut.
@@greggf6689 the verdict is still out! But lots of top minds like them 🤷
I tend to follow friend , I would also add I find it hard to agree and here I why that catch at the bottom is a instant problem getting snagged up on everything. I don't think the folks who oversee passing or failing design of these awards would have let this pass . I think these were made after war to fill the collectors market . But this is great info . Thank you.
Well we know the design is period correct. Thats not debatable. The issue is simply..when were they painted?
Look cool wish I could get one!
@@efruler7383 place an order on the website and i will toss one in!
I have a random question, if you have a genuine one, is there a specific weight to it? Could you just simply weigh the medals on a digital scale? Comparing a few genuine weights to others? They would presumably weigh the same if they were genuine right? I'm always looking for this kind of information because there are just too many fakes.
@@robertdacquisto6871 it varies by maker. And even by the die used. On top of that, there are material changes. So yes, many books have weights listed but its almost impossible to use that as a guide when buying at a show or online when 99% of the time no weight is listed.
@@smgwarrelicsvery interesting, good to know that. Thanks for the info, it’s really helpful
Thank you Dante for trying to preserve these historical significant items from being damaged in shipping .
if only i was shipping daggers
@@lyfewdee8495 they work great for other shipping solutions as well!
I want to get a dagger so bad but they are too expensive and I’m 14
@@aRealJackalope in due time my friend!
Little man so cool I have been collecting other items and I SAVE UP to get a noice piece once in a while .it will hardly ever get cheaper watch out for fake stuff
And I still don't have a dagger LOL some bayonets ,and some really expensive badges and tinnies .it's a fun hobby but $$$$
Same here. I'm 17, and im just stuck collecting medals and getting stuff as gifts for now
Hi Dante. Funnily enough I actually am FB friends with Eugene lol. That british medal at 40:14 is a ww2 British War Medal probably the most issued British medal worth about $10. The black wound badge which is attached to the button thingy I'd say is how the recipient attached it to his civilian clothes (just my take) so I'd keep em together.
Who the hell is Eugene? Lol
@@smgwarrelicsthe chap who you bought the dagger tools from
@@richardforrest8134 lol oh shit sorry lol im not paying attention at all. Lll
Your V on the Bronze Star is for valor. Combat awarded. Are you selling the belt separately that came with the ss buckle? I need more belts.

Good video. What percentage of items that you bring to these shows actually sell? I'm thinking 5% of less right? It looks like a royal PIA to cart and set up and breakdown all those items. Hope it was worth it.
@@RobWhitey-ny1io so people have different goals and objectives. For me, i set a monetary goal and am also thrilled to get rid of bulky items like helmets and bayonets. Its a labor of love though. I have a good system with fantastic table helpers so even though it’s a lot of work, things go smoothly.
@@smgwarrelics Excellent. I'm sure you will continue doing well now and into the future. You are on of the "good Guys" in the hobby.
Appreciate the kind words!
Sry I missed this one
Thanks for this video good sir. l got "Floched" many years ago for the tume of about $100 early 1990's for an EK l cuz the price was good and always had my sispicions and your video proves it, BUT thanks to your great 4-1-1 l won't be "fooled" again l have kept mine to testify never again! l use mine now as a learning instrument. Yeah l got "taken" but l learned a valuable lesson. l ever see one again. taking your afvice to put it back down and walk away.

Hello, please do a full review of this book, that is, flip through all the pages from beginning to end without comments, if it’s not too much trouble for you
@@Serhio-mn1on that is not possible and actually most likely not legal. That would be the same as stealing the book.

I thought Ken was woody harrelson for a solid minute lmao. The HJ shoulder board is real nice, never seen one before. Hope you're having a good show.

When you are showing the case with medals is that a Gold WW1 cut out wound badge near the top?
@@tomstreet5266 silver, tombak base metal showing through.
You always have some real jems, can't wait to go some year. I really didn't think you had that mant swords and daggers thought haha.

Awesome stuff. See you tomorrow.
is that seller with the terrible fakes still showing? [cant recall his name offhand]
