My family and I decided to leave a life of convenience the city offers and venture down the road leading to self reliance in an effort to consume less and create more. We purchased 22 acres and got to work. 12 years later a lot of the work is done so I decided to dedicate time to this channel. I want to share our experiences and hopefully inspire others to get off the couch. Please join us as we live the real American dream.
Forrest to Product - Bathroom Shelf

The first night I brought my dog inside this guy shows up. No worries though the chickens and ducks were all locked up. Just can't let me guard down, especially this time of year when food becomes a bit more scarce for the predators. Nice shop!
@@Freedom17762 Thanks. It’s an old 2 story gambrel style barn that needed some work and still does. I love it.
Perfect timing! I need to do a drum brake job on my 2001 2500 cummins. Hopefully the parts will work on mine also.
@@Freedom17762 Should be fine. Let me know how they work for you. Like I said in the video it was a noticeable difference for me.
@@51sicboy I have a dana 80 rear but from what I see it should still work on my truck. I’ll let you know once I get my truck done. Thanks for the video.
Semangat sukses selalu Salam kenal dari Indonesia 🎉🎉🎉

@@Mainelyoffgrid Thanks brother. Definitely a useful tool on the homestead. I’m checking out your channel now.
@51sicboy appreciate that greatly!!!
Sukses selalu 🎉🎉
Hey everyone, I hope I explained this ok. wasn’t feeling too good, picked up something during our trip. In fact 3/4 of my family is sick. I figured no sense in laying around when I could be getting something done. Take care!
Look like a horror movie, sorry I missed you guys but I was down four 6 days
@@DanielMarmolejo-d1s A beautiful horror movie. No worries, I know you are a big wuss. 🤪 All jokes aside I hope you’re feeling better.
Enjoy the time you have left with your old man. Jumping off the couch did my last dog in. She jumped off and hurt her leg. Took her to the vet, it was only sprained so I carried her up and down my stairs for a week or two and then she seemed okay. The next day, jumped off the couch again and she just sat down immediately and never got up again. I carried her around the house for a few days but she also lost the will to eat. It was so sad so I made the difficult decision to have her put down. I miss you very much Layla, but I’m sure you are much happier wherever you are ❤.

@@Mainelyoffgrid Thanks, I’m enjoying the process and look forward to doing more everyday.
I swear I turned on the comments.
I like the maintenance videos, Keep em coming. You were having a little string of bad luck at the beginning, but you got past it now.
@@MySliceOfHeavenoutdoors Thanks brother. Persistence is a must on a homestead.
I have a bunch of Basswood trees. I've tried them for stovewood. Except for some crafts, I didn't think they were good for much else.
@@DJ-bh1ju It’s used in a lot of furniture but yeah untreated it won’t hold up outside. I did make 10 pair of shutters which worked out well. Thanks for watching.
Oh man, that was a good deal on the culvert.
@@MySliceOfHeavenoutdoors Yes sir, to good to pass up.
Great video! Detailed and informative. Editing was spot on. Keep em comin. BTW Frontier OS31
@@micheledreessen3312 Thanks bro, appreciate the feedback. Dang it I was afraid I said it wrong.
Hey brother, I just came across your channel. Beautiful place you have there, can i come trap on it?, Just kidding. Around here we have so many coyotes, I put an ad on facebook looking for a trapper and no one replied. I enjoy cutting firewood too.
@@MySliceOfHeavenoutdoors Lol! No means no bro! Jokes aside thanks it’s been a labor of love for sure.
@@51sicboy When working on your own place its enjoyable, doesn't even seem like work
Totally agree.
Part 2 is delayed due to Video software issues. It’s ready but iMovie will not export. I’ll get it out asap. Thanks!
Good job
