Schimmel Model SP-182 Grand Piano in Gorgeous Bubinga Polish
My dream instrument.
Who did the restoration?
At last a quality recording
The AIII is such a fabulous short-lived model from Steinway. This one is so nice!
Nice , youre style and tone reminds me of the late Austin Peralta.
Nice piano. Excellent video, Aaron. Thanks for sharing.
Think it’s way too old to sound clear and projecting.
Great!
Song name please !! Thank youu
Johann Sebastian Bach, Prelude in C major, BWV 846
Great demo.
Super impressed with your operation. Such a slick website and hi-res detailed photos of the pianos and the action. Really a breath of fresh air in the world of online piano sales. Bravo. 👏🏻
Wow… thanks man. That means a lot!
@@SeattlePianoCo I’ve been searching for a decent used C6X for months. Unfortunately I’m on the wrong coast to come try out this one. But it looks so clean!
This one is heading to Utah, and I sent a C3 to Alabama a couple of weeks ago. You should shoot me an email (Aaron@seattlepianoco.com). I’m ordering another batch of pianos from Japan right now and can probably get you very affordable shipping on a newer refurbished C6X.
Great demo. Thank you.
Fantastic playing....do you know the name of the song at 4:10?
Is this Dindi?
Wow! Thanks for this video. I dream of owning one of these one day and even more so playin as well as he did. Holy Moly. That was amazing!
Inherently, ideologically compromised. I could guarantee the accuracy of my statement through inference of his persuasion vernacular. Don't buy into a bullshit artist who lacks finesse and over explains intricate details , very quickly , in order to compensate for a sub-par execution of fine craftsmanship. Good luck with his services if you do indulge. Use some critical thinking. Trump won twice. Let liberals tune and maintain their own instruments.
❤ I’ve watched this piano for some time, both on Ebay and on your site, wondering how it sounds. It sounds awesome. Thanks for a great dem video.
Awesome! Thanks, Aaron. Hopefully you’ll be able to produce more videos with demo. I’d like to hear the 1965 Mason Hamlin Model A you have.
Very interesting. Where is the power source for the digital function? Is it battery? Or mains power with transformer?
I would love to find out more about how I can get a similar piano.
I recently bought a JDM Yamaha U3 from a dealer where I live (not the US) who imports all of his pianos from one supplier, Takamota Pianos. The U3 I bought is from 1967 (ser:66x,xxx) and looks and plays every bit as nice as the one in this video. It also came with a JUPA certficate. (if you know, you know). The dealer also gave me a 12 year warranty.. If you do your homework and buy right you will certainly reap the rewards. Thanks for sharing this great instrument.
wow, you make that piano look like doll-size! Are you like 8' tall?? LOL
Hard to tell how well piano plays with sustain pedal constantly depressed
Top notch comment. Thank you for contributing!
😊😊 0:20 0:20
What is the price?
$19,920.00
Thanks for the video, Aaron. Can you do videos for the other pianos in your inventory, please? Thanks.
Hah! I am trying. Running the shop, working on projects and shooting video is a tough one to juggle. I will have a few more coming up soon though. Thanks for watching!
Excellent video. How old is that U3?
Do these pianos get louder around the 30 year mark? Mine is extremely loud and it's driving me nuts. The hammers don't show too much in terms of wear.
Wow!!! Lovely playing and lovely piano tone ❤👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Thank you for sharing!
Beautiful rendition of “Falling Leaves”. Aaron, could you also give a description of the piano played as a part of the video. Thanks.
Hi Aaron!!
I grew up with a 1923 model k. Id give anything to get it back now
❤ 😂😂😂the c3 Sound in my e mu Sampler ist great...🎹🎩😘🙋🇩🇪😂🎯
This system requires a lot of patience to be installed, rather than genius I would call it stupid, the problem is for those grand pianos in which the hammer enters 1mm inside the housing and where when entering the hammers they hit against the wooden profile of the piano. In these cases it really gets crazy because for insertion the hooks go down but the rear part goes up... If they had created a system with longer screws that could be raised and lowered directly once the mechanics were installed it would have been much better . You can do the same but you need very long tools, a lot of patience and a lot of light... Furthermore, 2 electric motors are few, for the lower part it is fine but then it is not clear why there is only one motor for the entire middle and upper part, this means that it is often unable to correctly bring the stationary bar to the end of its travel -hammers, it would be as if in an electric car we had a motor dedicated to one wheel and another connected to the other 3... I don't find it very "genius" to save $30 on an additional motor that would have at least helped the other. Furthermore, the connecting pin of these motors is very difficult to insert and extract, the problem comes when you have to take out the mechanics... How many things could be improved but the icing on the cake (hold on tight) is that there is no the installation manual! It doesn't exist anywhere, not even online.
It seems you have installed many silent systems. Would you mind writing what are the cons of installing a silent system on a piano, apart from its cost? Does it affect the touch and sound of the piano when not using the silent system?
Is it a Do Re Mi rebuild???
What a beauty!
I bought a new C3 with disklavier in 2001. I looked recently and the price for the same piano (new) is around $85k. It’s a great piano and sounds remarkably good for a 6’1” grand.
What a warm and rich sound this piano produces. Quite unsuitable for jazz, pop and rock, but wonderful for songs, accompanying singers or playing classical pieces from the Romantic era.
Beautiful sound!! Lovely piano. Great job bringing it back to its full glory!
How much did you sell this piano ?😊
Great video. What is that interesting looking cherry upright behind you?
Rx5 or 6?
I’m pretty sure Yamaha still puts ivorite keys on certain models.
What does it sound like, and what does it cost, and where is it ???
You call that a clean octave?
Thanks for sharing this video. This is useful for someone like me, adult learner. I’ve been playing for 18 months, and during that time, I’ve been researching different pianos, and weighing up whether to buy something new or used. This information gives me more to work with, when trying used pianos and viewing them too.
Sounds awesome!
I purchased a used gs30 two years ago and love the warm tone of the piano.
😊
I swear I watched a video from Steinway where they mentioned that with improvements in the model A’s design that the 6’4” length was not needed as they said the extra 2 inches of piano was unnecessary and mainly compensated for the action. I’m not sure what they were on about because many people prefer the a”A3 to any other model of Steinway A.
Steinway does the same thing. They promote fear and misunderstanding when they tell the public: “If you’re looking at a Steinway and it’s been rebuilt or refurbished anywhere other than the Steinway factory, it’s no longer a Steinway. It is now a SteinWAS. Absolute nonsense in the broad sense. (More on this a little later - read on) Steinway wants to sell new pianos. If a family cannot afford a new Steinway, they want to sell you a Steinway that has been rebuilt in the Steinway factory. If a family STILL can’t afford that rebuilt Steinway, they want to sell you a Kawai piano wearing the “Boston” label, or they want to sell you a Pearl River piano wearing the “Essex” label. (And of course, Steinway wants to tell you that these Kawai and Pearl River pianos are “designed to Steinway Specifications”, which is about 97% marketing B.S.) However, there are a couple valid points to the SteinWAS argument - there are all kinds of different rebuilders out there. I’ve seen some formerly great Steinway model M, O and even B’s that have been hacked apart and thrown back together with aftermarket parts and the work performed by somebody not even remotely qualified to be rebuilding anything. I’ve even seen some that have had the plate repainted with a rattle can while still inside the piano, with plate lettering, plate screws, duplex bars…EVERYTHING covered in shiny gold Krylon spray paint. They didn’t even bother to hand letter the plate. Horrible! These pianos end up being ruined. The important thing to remember is to do your homework and find out WHO rebuilt the piano, what parts were used, and to listen, look and feel for yourself. Find a reputable dealer that has been in business a long, long time, and has technicians ON STAFF or even better - a technician owned store. Has the technician had adequate training? Is the technician a member of the PTG? (Piano Technicians Guild) Is the technician an RPT (meaning they’ve passed some pretty rigorous exams) or are they just an associate member? So, bottom line, Yamaha ALSO wants to sell you a NEW piano. They and Steinway seem to be in this “self preservation” mode and the fact that they put this “Grey Market” or “SteinWAS” nonsense out there in a broad, general and fearful way is a little bit shady. And when a dealer tells somebody that “Yamaha will not sell parts for this piano because it is a Grey Market piano” is the most asinine and childish thing a company could say. I want to ask Yamaha: “Do you hear yourself when you’re talking?” It all comes down to the shape the used piano was in before rebuilding, HOW and by WHOM it was rebuilt or reconditioned, and what the piano looks, sounds and feels like when you sit down and play it. Interesting that Steinway and Yamaha DEALERS of new, “factory authorized” pianos are the ones who go around screaming “Grey Market”…..
