    I use 5 pedals total for my bass . All run thru power supply so no batteries. I honestly never opened them up . I guess I have some work to do today . They are all fairly new . I wonder if they are already protected with that plastic cover ?? If not - I do have some electrical tape . On a mission today … Thanks ! Great tip !!

      No it's fine everyone can have an opinion haha! If you can tell me what you do not like I can make some adjustments. Always wanting to be a better teacher! This technique can be hard for people to do especially if you are new to it and if you are working a camera at the same time like me haha! So if you feel discouraged trying this just know you are not alone! If you would like a better style of instruction i recommend the website. The videos are much more specific and the one on one is a game changer. Only so much we can learn with UA-cam videos.

      I'm sorry I do not understand your question. Are you talking about the pedal train? My pedal train is not wood. Yes, so that is to protect it from the PCB. Normally pedals in general do not have enough power going through them to worry about it BUT it can happen. You have an entire metal pedal.... with the battery connector having power running through it. If that were to make the right contact in the right setting or circumstance it would be BAD. NOW that is rare but it's a possibility. If you put electrical tape on it, you never have to worry about it.

    • @josephallen241
      @josephallen241 11 місяців тому

    • @josephallen241
      @josephallen241 11 місяців тому

      If you are not using the battery it can be a problem. If the battery is just sitting there it can produce acid and ruin your pedal. You don't have to but it might cost you your pedal after some time of no use from the battery.

    • @josephallen241
      @josephallen241 11 місяців тому

      A lot of times when you get feedback people turns turn the whole volume down to fix it. You can do it that way there is no problem to do so. However, This expression knob allows me to isolate the problem. The problem might be coming from just one pedal and this allows me to address the problem in the pedal without turning the volume, gain, or effect down across the entire board.

    Ok. I get the heat thing but wouldn't it be easier if you put down the velcro and then apply the heat thereafter? At first the metal will act as a heat sink but when they both heat up it should be mission accomplished. Also, methinks I will wipe the board down with a little isopropyl alcyhol first (and let it dry of course).

    • @josephallen241
      @josephallen241 Рік тому

      @@josephallen241 I have the RD B2 Joyo Pedal Board, and I was wondering how to stick the power supply correctly. I mean, I know I can use velcro as well, but I was thinking of the best position so it can work properly.

    • @josephallen241
      @josephallen241 Рік тому

      Awesome, for the power supply you have I would not put it under neath your pedal board. I mean, you can try but I believe the magnetic field would catch some interference from your pedals. If you are tight on space you could put it underneath but I believe depending where you are at could really make a LOT of unwanted noise. You can test it. Normally depending on the type of power supply you have to give them a little space from your pedals and not under neath. Some can and some can't but I believe that cannot go under neath.

    i bought one described as an Electrical Guitar capo, my question is there is two version of this capos? for electric and classical guitars/acoustic

    • @josephallen241
      @josephallen241 Рік тому

      I only know of one Low-Tension Kyser capo for acoustic guitar. Typically, electric capos will naturally be a more low tension that resembles the low tension kyser capo in my video because electric guitar strings do not need as much tension as acoustic. There are some capos out there that are like an all in one. Kyser's main capo is an all in one. The G7th does a great one of those BUT when you have a capo specifically made for a certain type of guitar it will be better. Kyser and shub are great better prices, G7th is more mid range (for electric guitar G7th is my favorite especially for alternate tunings on acoustic or electric), high end capos.... Paige probably has the best classical capo, G7th heritage best electric guitar capo, and Elliott best acoustic capo. They cannot change position quickly which is where a Kyser capo will do better if you have to move quickly. Shub will have the best sound for the price. GREAT capo. I actually have a whole list in my academy of techniques and types of capos. (joseph allen music) (J.A.M. Nation) I give like a list of 40 different capos and do all of the work and research for you. Very cool resource. You can check it out below. josephallenmusic.com/product/dont-fret-what-fret-its-on/ We also discuss tons of stuff like this in my newsletter. josephallenmusic.com/blog-2/ If you are on my newsletter we give that resource for FREE

    Good idea. I buy my pedals used and I always check the battery compartment and there has always been a battery in there. This might be because of where I live, but I’ve been using power supplies since the mid-1980s. I used to have to buy custom made supplies.

    • @josephallen241
      @josephallen241 Рік тому

      Awesome! It is true! It's soooo important. Nice!! You must have some cool pieces of history. What's been one of your favorites? If you do not change batteries they can be a problem. I get some people that claim batteries have a different sound than running through a power supply. I do not know what to think on that yet. I have been playing with the idea and I feel like there is a difference. I have also been noticing, depending on the battery you use, can also change your sound. I am wanting to plug into some tech to make sure it is not just my imagination haha! Sometimes that can happen.lol There seems to be a different response just like some power supplies can be better than others..

    Curious what those little white boxes with knobs are?

    • @josephallen241
      @josephallen241 Рік тому

      I get that a lot haha! They are micro expression pedals or ( knobs). In my case, I use a lot of effects for synth, pads, and ambient music. If it gets out of control, you normally have to turn the whole volume down. However, a lot of times the problem is only coming from one pedal. This micro expression pedal plugs into individual pedals which allows me turn the volume down, the gain (or along those lines) on that singular pedal and not sacrifice the power and volume from my entire mix. Does that make sense? Sometimes I do not explain very well.

    I have an air compressor with an air gun attachment, but if you don't have this you can buy a can of air spray, which is way more convenient and probably better than archaeologist's brush !!! I too use the brush method from time to time. Most importantly is to keep it covered or cased.

    • @josephallen241
      @josephallen241 Рік тому

      Haha! Don't doubt the brush haha! oh wow! Hey you know that's one way to do it. I do not think I would use an air compressor. You want to do more than just blow air off. This is a short so you do not get an in depth walk through and tips. The best thing to do is to use Deoxit D5 This not only gets rid of the dust but also creates a protective layer to keep the dust off. SUPER good. If you want more in depth videos, I would encourage you to look on my website. There is soooo much in the joseph allen music (J.A.M. Nation) academy. There is TONS of free stuff too. We go over stuff like this even in the newsletter.

      haha! Well when I did this It was still a new concept. the more you do them the easier it is. I can do it with ease now. You are right there are various ways to do this. This has been my favorite so far. I can throw new strings on without getting out of tune. Works great for studio or gigs. AMAZING. Good things come with hard work haha!

    The 9v battery but doesnt last much does it?? I would have to keep buying those batteries a lot no?

    • @josephallen241
      @josephallen241 Рік тому

      Yes you do have to buy a lot of 9v batteries. I play a LOT and I get 2 to 3 gigs with them before the i need a new 9v battery. Power supplies are not cheap but you will save money in the long run.
