Its a fact that if you can keep up a ball with a tiny 5cm ball you can do it with a normal sized football 10x easier, Because its alot harder to keep a small ball up than a large one
Hackysack actually improves your skill with a soccer ball. It's like dribbling tennis balls, it'll improve your overall dribbling with basketballs. A lot of pro soccer players play hackysack in their offtime just for fun.

You can do generally the same things with either a Hackey Sack or a Soccer Ball, but a Hackey Sack is made for this.
