This Channel is for videos of my life in the theatre and in the folk music world. Also for the work of the actors, directors, playwrights and song writers that I consider to be great influences on my own work. Many of these are sourced from my vast collection of Beta and VHS tapes.
Showing Kenny a Bach piece we used to play when we were teenagers.
Warning very bad guitar playing!!

John MacLachlan Gray Documentary 1986
Переглядів 3317 років тому
A documentary on the life and work of Canadian musical theatre icon John MacLachlan Gray taped off TV in 1986. Recovered from a thirty year old Beta tape. Back in my high school days I was a huge fan of Gray's work. In fact, I remain still fond of it to this day. Just like contemporary teenagers, who have all the words to the musical HAMILTON memorized, I could, in 1985, recite the entire scrip...

Theatre Terra Nova, my first company, had its own 75 seat theatre space at 77 Dundurn Street South in Hamilton. This footage was at the beginning of an archive video for one of the productions and shows how the space was set up and the outside of the building and the busy corner of Main and Dundurn looked like in April 1989. The video is not of good quality, but I share it, as this is all that ...

CBC Coverage of the Doctor Who Cancellation in March 1985.

In late February and early March of 1985 rumours began to circulate that the BBC television series DOCTOR WHO was to be cancelled. Several members of DWIN - (THE DOCTOR WHO INFORMATION NETWORK) decided to picket the Toronto offices of the BBC. I was there handing out flyers and a letter written by DWIN President Steve Peers, made it all the way to the BBC controller's desk. Cahpters off the

A promo piece for the play "Stories" by Wayne MacPhail, Paul Benedetti and Kevin Von Appen that was produced at the old church on Dundurn street in Hamilton in May of 1989. Sadly the old beta tape has tracking issues, but I think it is at least still watchable. This was wonderful play, that played to great houses. It deserves a revival, and (hey!) I still have the script all these years later.....

Very glad to see this video.
Thank you

There's a bazillion women who look exactly like that. They're really acting like she's stunningly gorgeous. She's not. 😊
John Dick had only one testicle
That's a really poor quality video.
I remember my father's joke about this case. You cut off his legs... You cut off his arms... You cut off his head... How could you Mrs Dick?
Yes! I was trying hard to remember this jingle. Thank you
they really just let this woman go... trash system
She got what you would get today when it came to punishment. The legal system....what system?!
Happy birthday !100 years young!!
I bet I know why she isn't dead, she's afraid to give the devil her due.
at least her daugther and grandchildren won't be bullied
A little OT -- David Reid sounds exactly like Johnny Carson (US TV's "Tonight Show"). Seriously!
I don't think it's fair she killed her baby!! or her husband I think that woman's words are preposterous !! it wouldn't be fair to upset Evelyn's new wonderful life. She is a horrific monster that only cares about herself.
I am always amazed by the stories of ex-convicts and fugitives who are able to re-invent themselves and go on to live normal lives in anonymity. How does one go from having nothing to a complete, and sometimes successful life with new family and friends? Never the less, this was a very well produced documentary.
ive done some shacking up also. it is what it is.
This woman was obviously deranged. But what pisses me off to no extent is what was said about her sexual appetite. If this was a man they would of called him a ladies man.
Oh my God how can that woman in the Doco say someone say she was a prostitute just because she was given gifts. So if she were given gifts then she is also a prostitute.
It's one of my all time favourites also! I saw the play in Vancouver in the 1980's, several times!
I LOVE THIS MUSIC !
Picton pig farm...
Wonder if she ever committed any more murders. She would have learned from the mistakes of the 1st 2, if they WERE her 1st.
She is Gorgeous
Oh Wow
Another myth about "gentle" Canada destroyed! so much for "Canada nice" what a cruel joke!
The market's been solved.. we all have common sense.
I think it was her father who killed Dick and also killed the baby as he did not want another bastard in the house. No real evidence it was her.
Could not watch the music was too loud and too distracting.
This was a great documentary!! She was so incredibly lucky to have a second chance at life without anyone knowing who she really was and her dark secrets!! I do believe she was the evil person that killed her baby and I feel she was the one that agreed to meet up with John Dick for either her father to kill him or herself... But either way she definitely had something to do with his murder.... But I do feel bad for her daughter heather....she obviously loved her mother and wanted to have a connection with her....but it's so sad that she couldn't do to her mother's wishes.... Honestly I don't feel that it was right for her to be pardoned for these murders!! But unfortunately ALL of her dark secrets were taken with her to the grave!!
That plays great. However, the piano is way too loud. I find this a problem for me at most plays. I'm not trying to complain, I just feel it must be me.
Great story. Thank you.
It sounded great to me. Thank you
John Dick was a good looking man! It's a shame that she could charm everybody and they could forgive and forget the murders. The baby and Mr. Dick deserved better.
He most definitely was!! He was so handsome....and THOSE BEAUTIFUL EYES!!!
Happy birthday
Casual jazz accompanied with a torso with one testicle of a guy named Dick. This in one hell of a roller-coaster of a documentary 🤣👌🏿
From WTBZ in Dundee, Scotland (2010)
LOL 😂
''got a stick, we pokin' at it''
What a horrible woman! She got away with murder, was protected and treated like a queen. Disgusting!
CKVR-TV ran this during sign-offs as well.
Right you are, at least in the case of 1984 (before some of the visuals were replaced by those of the city of Barrie in 1986-87) but this particular 'nationwide' copy came from a recording of a CBLT sign-off in Toronto.
What happened to the daughter?
Mrs. Lynch was one tough lady. Somehow, i can understand the strange friendship between her and Evelyn.
What a coincidence! My dick is 58 today.
Hmmm 🤔, sounds like my x-wife very attractive on the outside but awful on the inside. But she was an angel before we married. “She was the devil in disguise”.
The music is so off putting. distracts from the narrative'.
How shallow to discuss her wardrobe and manners: that was just part of her manipulation. Think of the baby that never knew life because his mother murdered him ....And the handsome man who was killed so brutally - just because he was honest and wanted to expose a theft.
The music though..... I just can't 😣🎷🎺
The torso was identified as being John Dick's because of a missing testicle?!?.....that was it, Whatttt...??
Her daughter and grandaughter may have got the short end of the stick but not sure she could been apart of the hype since she was raised by the grand mother who planted this evil in her daughter
Dick was the precursor to Holmoka Both were murderers And went on to successful lives The woman on the the parol board was played if she doesn't know it by now I don't know about her I guess there is a statute of limitations on murder in Canada bc they have let these two off for murder with no problem
