Engine design is pretty cool, but like anything new, it will have problems the first few years. Think newer gens will be better. I admire Nissan, they are innovators. Still miss my 83 Datsun Maxima 😢

I saw the teardown on I Do Cars and everything didn't look too bad, I'm assuming oil changes were delayed a little which is common these days. But looks like the oil pressure is low in the middle cylinder, looks to me like the outer cylinders get plenty of oil but they machined it poorly for the center, OR... The placement of the actuator has something to do wirh it. Either way I think its just inherent design failures, if you order a new block from Nissan without changing something it's just going to happen again.

Reminds me of my first car. Bright neon cherry red 71 Vega with chrome baby moons. My grandparents sent that car out to have modifications done to the engine when I told them it was too slow and asked what was wrong with it. When I got it back nothing could catch it and it had the original four cylinder in it. I won't even say how fast it was because nobody ever believes it. Let's just say there was a lot more potential that Chevrolet hid in that original 4 cylinder than people realized
