Welcome to Live Air Bird. I am fortunate to live very close to the majestic River Mersey and wanted to capture the ships that visit from all over the world. I am new to using a drone and hope to improve the quality of video and production over time so bear with me.
Whilst this channel is predominantly dedicated to the shipping on the river there will be other drone content relating to Liverpool and other destinations near and far. I hope you enjoy the clips.

Queen Mary 2 arriving into Liverpool this afternoon from Greenock. She is a Cunard Cruise ship and is sailing under the flag of Bermuda. Her length overall is 344 meters and her width is 49 meters and her call sign is ZCEF6.

It was a nice day and there were no ships due in so I thought I would film Manannan arriving from Douglas at the new Isle of Man ferry terminal. She is a high speed craft and is sailing under the flag of United Kingdom. Her length overall is 92 meters and her width is 26. meters.

Really enjoying these Bri, used to love watching from various points, Formby, Crosby, Pier Head in recent years, born anc grew up in kirkdale so saw and heard them loads as a kid, been in New Zealand for the last 12 months so this is a nice link back. Cheers for doing them 👍

This is particularly impressive, the skill of those tug crews is amazing, it room a friend of mine thirty years to become a captain on those and I could sit with him for hours and talk about his days on the wheel.

This is an interesting vessel, IoMSPC purchased this second hand from the US Navy, it had been a prototype huge speed warship HSV1 I think it was named. There’s plenty on info out there on it. It looks quite cool in battleship grey.

If you were 16 again and hadn’t found music, do you think you may have gone to sea? When asked why I went to sea, I always answered because I didn’t work hard at school, or; I can’t sing and I can’t play football. 🤣…… loving these videos.

I am getting better. The lack of noise is because there is no microphone. I didn't want to put music over any of my videos as I think they are mostly annoying. Do you agree?
