I hafta agree.... This band is firing on all 8 every show, tho i would say Saturday was better than Friday (my Friday highlights were Ruby, So Many Miles, and Dad).... Several years ago, when they were in their Dead covers phase, i'd argue with these maroons they play Dead songs better than the Dead cover and re-incarnation bands (IE-Dead and Co, Furthur etc...).....

They seem to be congregating in the suburbs. Virtually none in Chicago except for Sauganash.

@@CorneiliusLibowitz They're kind of pretty. In the sun, they look yellow and purple. Plus, the size is impressive. You are getting a biological timeline, from emerging from the earth to making it to the trees.

Hey, i’m glad i got to see you guys…it’s a Bluegrass desert up here on the Northshore! Come up this way more often..plenty of suburban festivals and venues in our neck of the woods!

@@CorneiliusLibowitz if u can suggest any bars or smaller venues in the area for live music ill contact them and see what we can do

@@badhandchicago Here's a few places in my neck of the woods.... Hackney's on Lake (bands play in the basement) and the micro brew place next door (more of an outdoor venue) in Glenview, Whiskey River, Glenview, Space in Evanston, The Toadstool in Highwood (stage in back under a tent), Teddy O'Brians (outdoor beer garden), Highwood, 28 Mile Distilling Co, Highwood,. Also, i heard about some Bluegrassers who play at the American Legion at the Canal Shores Golf Course in Evanston. I've never actually seen them play, so i'm not sure if they just jam, or people come to see them... But i have been in the place for another event and it's a nice space... As for festivals around here... First and foremost, contact Val at Valslist for the Winnetka Music Festival...and check out the festival's website... It's mostly a roots/Americana-oriented festival that specializes in emerging artists....and the biggest festival between Chicago and Summerfest... There are national act who've played there...Neal Francis, BILLY STRINGS (saw him in 2018 before he was known to the masses--epic show, man!!), The Waydown Wanderers, Madison Cunningham etc... But she also books smaller local bands... Hey, ya never know!! ANOTHER great festival is Nashwood in Highwood. It occurs in Sept. While they advertise there are Bluegrass bands in the festival, i have yet to see an actual Bluegrass band....this year, there were 1 or 2 bands that dabbled in it, but were mostly Country... Since you already played the Pumpkin Fest, you could have a better chance getting booked for Nashwood... Other local north suburban festivals worth looking into are: The Backlot Bash in Skokie, Northfield Ribfest, Wilmette Block party, and I forget the names, but Glenview and Northbrook have their annual festivals. Last year, Cracker played in Glenview, and Tributasuarus (did the Stones) in Wilmette. And Mr. Blotto makes their rounds at some of these festivals. And finally, the summer evening concert series... My favorite ones around here (past and present) are in Evanston, Chicago Botanic Gardens (Glencoe), Independence Grove (Libertyville), The Glen (Glenview) and Plaza Del Lago (Wilmette)... And FWIW, Ravinia recently built a small stage/gazebo out in the lawn for smaller acts... It still might be too big for you guys, but it might be worth looking into anyway just for the helluvit.... Right before we saw her up at Hoxeyville this past August, she played with Billy and the Kids in NYC.... So she definitely enjoys breaking out of the Bluegrass mold. I think it's awesome, but i' not sure the grassholes would appreciate it...LOL!! EDIT: My bad, she played with Billy and the Kids, not Bobby Weir..already edited it... Brane fart, i guess!

Yeah, no sh*t. This was the one song i really wanted to record because i love her clawhammer guitar work, and woodn you know it, these knuckleheads got in the way right at the beginning....but luckily they moved on after a bit. I woulda been pissed if they didn't move!!!

Yeah, notice all the empty seats? Allotta procrastinators missed them....it often pays to get there early!!! Tho, i'm thankful the rows right in front of us remained empty till very late, except for a few knuckleheads standing in front of us from time to time....

No it doesn't, which is a shame....unless it's the Beverly Hillbillies or Deliverance.... That's precisely why i posted this vid... Like i said before, all this great, young talent is almost never heard on commercial /mainstream radio... My go-to stations for this kinda music is WMOT out of Nashville and WNCW out of Asheville.... You can get them online, or with tune-in, or alexa, OR, on the FM dial if you happen to be passing thru town...which is the way i discovered WMOT on my way down to Atlanta.... And another commenter turned me onto WNCW... BTW, ALL the artists we talked about, and then some, i've heard played on these radio stations... The once great WXRT here in Chicago woulda played some of them back in the day, but now they suck like the rest of them (tho they did play Marcus King for awhile, but now it stopped).....

Yeah, they did two songs...the 2nd song "Don't let your deal go down"..... My arms were killing me, and i wanted to save battery power for BMFS.... "Deal" was pretty epic! Sometimes i think she goes a little overboard with the costumes, but this time it wasn't over the top, relatively speaking🙂

@@junicast_tech Welp, if you look at my "Skunked" vid, it looks almost as good as the official, and sounds as good or better. This vid was an experiment, and first attempt, butt if you read the intro, you'd know that already.... While i agree recording the TV screen, in most cases, is lame (back in the day, you could record on a VCR, butt that's not really an option now), butt if it's done right (IE-NOT with a cell fone), it's a good way to preserve a performance that might otherwise not be [officially] posted..... Case in point, the ACL performance was cut by about 2/3rds when it was broadcast on PBS..... If you didn't catch the original YT stream, you were screwed.... It took a fairly long time before it reappeared in its full glory..... Having said all that, go pound sand and get a life.

@@CorneiliusLibowitz Yeah no more VCR, which is good. Decent Set Top Boxes still can record or connect a HDD to your TV set, but this should not happen at all.

@@junicast_tech I invested a lot of $$$ in a real, full frame SLR....mainly to get back into real photography and finally get some quality photos. Not innerseted in investing more money in digital recording gadgets. And regarding "this should not happen at all"....i take it that you're against recording anything off the TV, no? If that's the case, then you should be against all these people recording live concerts with their cell fones and uploading them to UA-cam. In which case, why are you on UA-cam in the first place?
