Pretty cool, this video is already 6 years old and no other videos were made, I just hope the person in this video is okay. It´s a shame that no other videos were released, would have loved to see more such machines.

It's the loudest Stirling I have ever heard but also one of the most fun looking I have ever seen.

Just found out about these devices, when I seen one working I thought my buddy knew magic 😂 Am looking now for a giant design single Piston Stirling system. Am wondering if such an engine could be made big enough and strong enough to spin a decent sized generator...could have a woodstove with a Stirling on top hooked to a jenny and get freepower from the firewood I already burn to heat my home or would it have to be tons of small cylinders hooked together like this. If a big one can't be made with a single cylinder that means more maintenance as it would need more parts kept up. Plus will any design have enough power to turn a Jenny.... One thing I haven't seen is an oil distribution system for the cylinder walls, seems with all the rubbing in the sleeves and heat that the piston rings or sleeve walls would wear out fast if using it 24/7. Might go gasofier system if Stirling is just a dream, just seems a Stirling would be less hazardous and easier to maintain. Imagine running all the electric in your home with firewood or coal that is already being used to heat your home. Free electric!

This is beautiful.this.design solves the.torque issue most stirlings have. A 8cyl. Like always nothing beats cubic inches haha. Now if this drives a big generator and could be powered by solar heat.

A beautiful engine that seems very powerful compared to many other stirling engines. This man know how to craft perfectly working components. And amazing desing too. Well done Man!

Beautiful design. I think NASA copied your design for Mars missions. Except that they'll use RITEG as a heat source and installed large radiator instead of water cooling.

What configuration is this sterling engine? How is the displacer connected mechaically or is free moving or is it free pistion design ..i would love to see how the regeneation circuit was plumbed and how the displacer pistion was created

Those linkages are a thing of beauty. I'm not quite understanding how the traditional displacer/power piston are connected.

Can u pls do a video on how it was put together. A taking it apart and putting it back together kind of idea. I like to see what items where used under the hood. Like what the pistons and ignition items look like.

keep trying. I make these little toys, and i haven't ever tried one this complicated. don't give up. I feel lonely because most folks don't understand the pleasure of actually learning new stuff and creating something in your mind, and seeing it when your done. i am thrilled by a working engine, but those around me not so much and i am quite sure they just think i am just a strange old man. most folks just don't get it.

hi hope all is well great craftsmanship, well done. do you think it's possible to make an engine like this capable of running a 3kw generator?

  • @kreynolds1123

Amazing. But i keep thinking the bottom of the cylinders remind me of hanging tube chime bells that can vibrate a lot of sound energy away. I wonder if you can make it quiter with an epoxy composite surrounding all the pipes at the bottom. Or encase the crank and pressurize the air in the crank case to 2 or 3 bar. I'm pretty sure you will be able to get more power that way.

Here's a thought, preheat the fuel with the waste heat comming off the cold side of the stirling engine. If your useing propane, as it expands it cools helping keep the cold side cold, and the energy used to preheating the fuel is recycled helping the burner get a little hotter.
