I am blessed with the ability to spend a lot of my time away from the noise of our everyday modern life. A lot of this time is spent in the natural areas around where I live.
I share some of my outings with the hope that I can encourage others to take more time for their selves and get back to nature.
Because of this, I have come to a better understanding of nature's way of getting things done. It also affords me the ability of up close in counters with nature that most will never witness.

ENJOY!!!!!!

Great afternoon hunt. Lots of Turkey and Deer. Turkey roost on top of us.
A flock of hens came by me while ground hunting deer. Very vocal and as they circled out of sight a group of does and yearling came in and stay close until the turkey started roosting above us.

Ramblings. Selfish Preppers and Modern School Security

I give my thought why prepping gives the image of being selfish and why that should be far from a prepper's thoughts. I also share some thoughts on the direction that our public-school systems are heading in the name of security.

In this video I pose this question to you, Is a 3D printer a good investment for the trapping community and your trapline? I show traps for kids and new trappers that takes away the fear and allows confidence building and understanding the functionality of the trap. I also show numerous animals that we have printed along with a few items that I will use on my trapline this upcoming season. Link...

Another reason, mid summer to get excited for colder weather and trapping season to start. I will be using this knife every day of the trapping season, November through May and will be getting video of me using it for a review video at the end of the season. C...

Setting a beaver snare on a dry side dam crossover.

This dam doesn't have a crossover going over the top of it. What it does have is a side crossing going around it on dry land. Seems to be the perfect spot to place a snare.

We don’t have any turkeys in our area but hope we at least see one deer when we hunt
@@ABF-om9rh they are fun to watch.
Lot of great stuff!
Appreciate you sharing your views brother!!
I posted midway of your talk. I’ll add that your dead on with the schools too. Slowly by slowly state and federal govt. has been allowed to overtake the curriculum and the parents input is really not wanted, except making sure the heavy homework load is done. We’ve never had a close by school shooting but I remember a little boy being taken almost 30 years ago in a neighboring county and that’s when the fear, power and control started in the local schools. It was justified and excusable at first but it has just kept snowballing. You and I could sit down and have a good long talk I’d say and would agree on 95% of it.
You are dead on at the end with govt. slowly trying to overtake control of your kids too. They would like you here to drop them off and pick them up and not even allow you in the school. Sadly, many parents are A OK with that as long as the govt. keeps keeping them up too.
Fear is the main way that control is "given and taken". Fear has been associated with the schools for a long while now.
This is a prime example of why most people that will hear it never need to confuse or label someone with an accent with ignorance. Your upbringing and life aspects reflect my thoughts and beliefs very closely. I have the accent too. First thing I ever caught were box trap rabbits and was proud to see them on the food table after my mamaw fried them. Sadly, labels and appearances on Facebook and UA-cam are becoming THE REWARD to too many. The actual growing knowledge is way on the back burner from the “ look at me” aspect.
It seems to me that everyone needs that pat on the back, that atta boy, or participation trophy given by someone else. MANY in today's society lack having built their own self confidence. I believe I will talk about labels and titles in the next one.
The school stuff is strange. Where I’m at they had notified parents when the threat had originated in another town. I only want to put my tin fill hat on to tight and say that it may be something more than what it is. But I do pray that there isn’t anyone testing the waters for something else.
@@kevinlovell3048 it seems like every aspect of life has been steered away from the basics of what it's functions should be. Whether it be for profit or competition. Everyone's confidence in themselves seems to be diminishing without them getting a pat on the back. "Not my job" mentality instead of getting it done.
Great conversation, I wouldn’t call them selfish I would call them prepared. In the old days this was how people did it. Gardening, canning, salting and smoking and drying meat. As the man of the house, nothing haunts me more than not being able to provide or protect my family. I’m always going through scenarios in my head. Honestly, I’m scared for my kids and what they may have to face in the near future. As for the school stuff, we have went back to homeschooling.
To quote a friend it has to be a lifestyle not a past time for it to work. It is definitely hard to look at and prepare for the future without worry right now.
I think we talked about some of this last weekend. It was good to meet ya and your daugther. I really enjoyed our conversation. Hope you enjoyed youself.
Great meeting and shaking your hand as well. We ended up packing up that evening and got a room for the night. Then stopped by the City museum in St. Louis. That is a neat place to see.

That was a fun weekend and filled the freezer as well.

Outstanding great job well done 👍 thanks for showing how you make your knife 🔪
Thanks. I believe it is going to be one of my favorites.
If you have a otter pellets frozen for 4 years then unfroze it is the pellets still good to tan ????it was rolled is salt to prezer it
There is a good chance that it isn't any good after that amount of time in the freezer. One way to know for sure is to thaw it out, get it scraped and try a tan on it.
queen mandibular pheromone is shared from mouth to mouth bee to bee therefore the double screen board completely separates the two hives as one box can't get a taste of the pheromone. As you have said you have used and succeeded with news paper separation method and that is what I think you could have done here. The first bees through greet each other through the hole and start sharing the pheromone and thus it moves into the queen less hive before the bees themselves move up into the queen right box. I have watched but not tried but it makes a lot of sence to use a light sugar syrup of 1/2 and spray the queenless hive heavy and the queen right hive light and use no paper at all. Every body gets cleaning and thus handing off the sugar to workers to be stored as honey and the pheromone moves from bee to bee. There is only one smell or taste so no conflict. The best plans of mice and men....
The best plans. Those plans are always fun to work through. Thanks for sharing your thoughts I agree

Hello Jim. I’m Clint from the video. I love to teach folk about wildcrafting and foraging. Please reach out to me. Let’s see if we can meet up sometime.
Hopefully the video with Clint helped you on your journey. I am still only scratching the surface when it comes to forging wild edible and medicinals.
Love your shows, hello from West Virginia .
Thanks Travis. Welcome. Ready for some cooler weather and trapping to start up.
why do you catch/hunt them? just wondering bc i know people catch/kill coyotes to save live stock n stuff
Awesome 😁👍👍👍
Beautiful and sharp fleshing knives! Thank you for sharing my friend!!
Thanks for watching
It's cool to make your own equipment and traps. I make a water set to put in traps in 3ft to 8ft of water. I trap mainly from the canoe, being handicaped I had to research stuff and develop my own system for trapping beaver, and it paid off. That fleshing knife you're making will serve you well.
Figuring out your own way to get the results you want is what it's all about.

You’re in major violation of blue catfish regulation for Lewisville. The ones you threw back are eaters. Your only allowed 5 over 20” and 1 over 30”. A 30” fish is 8-10 lbs which you were clearly over. Hate to see anglers who have zero regard for our resource.
Sure am glad I don't live there, then. I hate to hear from folk that have zero regard for the resources they speak of.
@@AnArkansasTrapper yep this lake was almost cleaned out by irresponsible anglers years ago. Regulations are in place to protect the resource so we can all enjoy it.
