Most of war is logistics. Moving personnel, supplies, etc. you can move the line on multiplayer servers by taking over bases and setting up FOB. Many reasons.

Its fun as shit.

The MSFS flight model, despite all of their fancy flight dynamics, doesn't come close to DCS. I fly MSFS with a friend regularly for fun but compared to DCS, it simply feels like a game. DCS aircraft feel much more dynamic and alive and real. I like dropping bombs and shooting missiles and guns, but some of the most fun to be had in DCS is simply enjoying the flight model. I love flying the UH-1H and doing cargo missions, I love just flying the Yak, for the sake of that flight model. Like someone else stated, it is a hell of a lot of fun. And like someone else also stated - war is not just about the bombs. War is about troop and materials movement (logistics). You said it - DCS is a war simulation game. Not a war game - a war simulation game. As such it is more true to life than a war game, like War Thunder. In real life armies make use of Hueys and Chinooks, and so ED adds them to DCS and that enriches the game immensely. At the end of the day - the brutal answer is, the point of adding the Chinook to DCS is because Eagle Dynamics believed they would have enough paying customers to make it profitable for them to add it. And so as a company, making the Chinook makes sense to Eagle Dynamics. I for one am really happy about that, I am enjoying the Chinook a lot. But the really nice thing is, if you think you will not enjoy the Chinook - then that is OK, that is your right. You don't have to buy the module.

I hear you, I like the fact that they are adding more aircraft’s. I know there is a dev team working on a cobra.

I think it would be so sweet in VR unfortunately I don’t even bother with VR anymore with DCS

It’s hard to me and I’m a seasoned apache pilot in dcs. I’ve been reading forums about the ch-47 but she doesn’t wanna fly straight at all. I’m all over the place in it.

I think of it as like a flying boat and inputs should be slow and smooth. But that’s how it worked for me.

it can take a long time, but it doesnt have to, there are flaming cliffs dlc that are simplified but still capable that serve as an introduction or stepping stone into the simulation

I love DCS, if you love or like flying and realism then give it a go. Like the others commented, it can be a both depending on the path you take. If you go for a full fidelity module(plane/helo) then it takes a bit to get going and then a bit more to get right and then some more to be good lol. On the other hand if you jump on a flaming cliffs one its a lot easier and as long as you know the basics on dogfighting you should be good. My first module was the Tomcat and I'm still learning to tame the beast, but I love it. Hope this helps a bit.

sorry for the late response, I have to try it again. i will try to keep that speed low, its just hard to keep in the air.
