Great flight. Dynam did a nice job on the foam.
Only the foam though. This thing was a lethargic pig. Addition of the 700KV motor and bottom ailerons really perked it up. Still in pig category though. Fat sow 🐖

Looks fun to fly a home-brewed model. I quite fancy making one, but can I ask some Qs, please? So... motor = zero down and side thrust? Wings and tail zero incidence and both positioned on the centre line of the motor? Is that roughly the magic sauce? Plus big, flappy bits, of course.
Motor down thrust is set at 2° and 1° right. Zero incidence on tail and wings. Big floppy bits are needed but use a strong servo. I have to replace the aileron servo. It just won't fibbidy my bits. See if you can source some of the EVA foam board. It is indestructible. Now off with you, you nutter. 😜

Hi Rick. Naw, it's a Provincial park and a no-drone or toy plane area. It would be fun though. I have other places I can go but there's that "I'm too lazy to drive out there". 😂 The water was cold. Gael did eventually go swimming. It got onto the 80s later today.

It's one that takes a lot of discipline with throttle. Of course, I'll be pushing it later on.
My first RC Corsair was a Control Line bird when I was 9 years old. I was not good and it did not last long but it did make it through 3 wing replacements. I bought my first electric Horizon F4-U Corsair, about a 40" wingspan BNF. I set it up in my DX6. That was before they gave you all the numbers and switches and such by the numbers but it was only TH, Ail, Elev, Rud so it wasn't hard and I plugged in a battery and made sure everything was right. The night before I got an email from Horizon that had a link to their "file" for all the settings for the DX6, just download onto your SD card and upload it into your aircraft slot. WOW, I thought, their expert setting for my TX and their airplane. So I did it ! I took it out the next morning and did a quick preflight, heck I had Horizon's settings for my TX and their airplane, what could go wrong. I set it up on the track for TakeOff. Off it went, YeeHaw it was EXCITING ! ! ! - the danged ailerons were REVERSED ! I kept it up for almost 30 seconds and it was all over the place util I finally nosed it in and broke the nose clean off. I figured out what happened after I got it home and put the nose back on and did a PROPER preflight. I flew that Corsair for several years. I love the Corsair. I have the ugly green stipe nosed version, the next version, a 50" TopFlight balsa version, the UMX version, an FMS version and the CARTOON FATTY. I think that's all, well except for the carved and painted wooden version on a pedestal on my desk. Don't you be hurting that beautiful bird. If you need some weed up there in Canada, just go out and buy it like everyone else, hehe ! Yep, Stephen the VaBarefootBoy is unabashedly an F4-U Corsair lover ! Thanks for the shout out.
Ha! I too have a few of these in the stable. I have the 1400 FMS, this one and an ancient Great Planes version. All of them fly fantastic. I'm not much for weed😉. This one incident gave me a shudder. Dozens of flights and I hit a darn shrub. I was surprised I didn't get a mark on this beautiful bird. I'll be careful. You can bet on that. Those big props are hard to find! Thanks for popping by. The shout-out made me smile! Fade to Black was a good choice for a background tune. As we've discussed, I'm not a Dynam fan at all. Would never pay full price for one. I do have a couple Dynam warbirds that I've picked up at swap meets and such. They're worth swap-meet prices, for an I-don't-really-care-about-it warbird.
