Distractions while Driving Safety Demo
How about an instructional on "how to back up a trailer and dolly (cowboy back) to build a set"? I just got into feeders recently and would like to learn this eventually.
I don't have enough faith in humanity and thus by extension any fellow drivers to ever try to be a professional driver. God help us all.
"UPS TRUCKER KILLED IN ROAD RAGE INCIDENT". While demonstrating a technique for a training video a driver was shot by an impatient commuter. Who felt that the truck slowed down too soon to make the turn without tipping over. Just kidding! But you all know crap like this always will happen.
Bro with all that room il do tat with triples
I have never been to that building
Finally...someone who knows to underhook the dolly chains. I thought i was only one in America left who did it.
Been laid off for almost a year now, but I rewatch these to make sure I’m not forgetting anything. Thanks.
We’re sorry to hear that, hopefully we get volume back and we get you back in the driver seat, thanks for watching!
This isn't a button hook turn !!!
Thanks for watching!
Huge respect for UPS. worked there 7 yrs. Got me thru college and worked there a little bit after graduation. It made me more of a better, proactive, and aware driver on the road. This video illustrates why. Thank you for the insight.
Thanks for watching, and the your positivity is appreciated!
Man, I thought CACH was a pain in the ass. Do they bring sets in there?
Yes , sets are built and brought in to 43rd, patients is the key😂
@@UPSLawnsideFeeders I’ll never go there but I like the way you broke it down for anyone who does. Nice job from LOMWI 5439
Just came on to the video to ask.! Why is almost every Trucker a Crying Moaning Bitc* that thinks everyone should cater to them? And why do most of them have entitlment isssues? (BOO HOOO THEY GOT IN MY LANE WHAAA!). WTF? Im pretty much mentally disabled, and drive a truck and dont bijch as much as some of these guys on these videos.... People cut you off! People gotta take a shit, and block the fuel aisle, BIG FUCCING DEAL! First come first serve is the REAL RULE! Get up, be first! People come up with rules of there own and expect everyone else to follow some fairy tale they made up in thier mind...
Hey, if you guys want footage of the new EZRPA building I'd be more than happy to help. Let me know. We'll get into contact.
Sorry for the late response but that would be great!
Seeing how that terminal is set up stressed me out...and I'm sitting in my chair at home. 😄
So if you supply the dolly with air will the brakes lock up?
The air would just drain cause UPS doesn’t use air chocks, like other freight companies, when pulling a dolly only you really don’t wanna have brakes on the dolly it would drag and smoke up like crazy anyway. Thanks for the comment!
@@UPSLawnsideFeeders also, what is the issue if the snubber does not want to stay pushed in like in the video?
Truck drivers in the comments make everything a competition, no wonder there are shortages everywhere. Gatekeeping at its finest.
There's definitely not a shortage of drivers. If it were we would make more
I take as much room as i can. I dont care as long as i dont hit anyone or anything.
We need a day in the life of a feeder driver for the next video
Awesome video!! I’m saving this in my archive 😊.
These dudes are brainwashed robots
👍🏻
👍🏿
Love those automatic trucks now🥰 Well unless i'm in a Large Car with a big Cat or 500 Detroit. Other than that, those new automatics will spoil you🤣👍🏿
Omg people🙄...it's just an example. He was giving a scenario....I think this video was excellent 😊
Egos are fragile things lol, thanks for watching!
We all know that trick. Saves an hour or two at times. Hell I even get off at the last exit before the toll. Cross over and get back on on the other side.
Play it safe and take the left lane.
I’m such a nerd I actually followed along on your route using Google maps. I’m a feeder driver in the Midwest and will never drive that route and still I found this fascinating. 😁
The first time I was ever at Times Square I was shocked to see a feeder driving through there heading east. I couldn’t imagine that there was a hub anywhere nearby in the middle of the city. I’ve since met someone who worked there and told me a lot about the building, the spiral ramps that you use to take trailers up five stories, etc. I was expecting you to drive through Times Square (which seems insane to me, by the way.)
I’m a feeder driver who drives into Chicago every night. There are a few tricks we can use, but this is on a whole other level. Great job on this video. You did a fantastic job.
Thanks for the watch and compliment!
Very professional driver. I myself drove into New York City with a 48-foot trailer mainly in college point queens. From Pennsylvania and return for 12 years. That specific run, then got an over the road run for 28 years now. I'm retired and really missed.
Are all UPS dollies that junky?
Wanna say thanks again for this channel. It was an invaluable tool during my training and qualification.
No problem stay safe out there driver!
Old school buster brown, always wins!!!
lol just use your air horn and watch them run back into the trees.
Bro... u got a single axel.... try with a sleeper next time
Once again…we are not competing with anyone, training purposes only. Thanks for the watch and comment.
As a Sleeper driver we do not pull into the building but stay on the street correct? drop our set on the street and wait for a Yardbird to bring us our load going to Grand Rapids MI? we will be running this route on Sundays from SDFAS. great detailed video and thank you!
That is correct, thanks for the comment and stay safe out there!
Seems like the key here is to not miss any turns. This is an invaluable resource. I cant express thats statement enough. I might take a shot and put my name on a M43NY weekly bid.
Lets be honest 43rd is 99% blindsiding
Amazing representation of the 43rd trip outstanding job. Just wish you had a bay where you need to rub the pole and blindside back lol
How can I get training for my class A drivers license
Kiwan, if you already work for UPS, the path is usually work your way up to Package car then up to Feeders(big trucks). Some hubs do hire directly from off the streets but you would need to get your license at a school
This is a great idea. I qualified off the street. This channel was a huge help in not only that, but as well as adjusting to what UPS expects. Keep it up guys!
Thanks for the comment Ryan, glad we can help, all of this is to get you home safely every night or day!
Rewatching this video now that I'm qualified, all I can think is "why was this so complicated for me and why did it take me 3 while days of training to get the hang of it?"
Same lol
I just finished my training last week. Been lucky enough to have been a back up shifter. The training is crazy intense!!!
Good Stuff.
Invaluable information. I'm hoping to make myself stand out because I know it's a competitive job Ive got going here. I'm definitely doing my homework!
I've told myself for years now I'll never cross that bridge into NYC in any vehicle larger than a pickup truck. But I found out the new Middletown PA hub does have routes that take you into NYC. For $34/hr I'll take that big 'ol truck in there if I have to. I hope they'll at least train and teach me the basics of NYC in addition to this video I found. Thanks! I'm an off the street hire who starts training on the 10th. I'm willing to do nights and weekends, 100 turns, whatever it is. So as long as I don't get called in on one, I certainly won't be bidding on a NYC route.
I’m a driver out of EZRPA and said I would never go to 43rd. Now on sleeper my bus for peak has us heading there. I’m not afraid, just have the seniority to not have to normally. But this video makes it way easier than I was expecting heading there tonight. And my B driver has never been there either so it’s an adventure for both of us 😂
Got training starting next week for an off the street full time feeder. Already got my 5s and 10s memorized, and I'm going through everything UPS expects their drivers to know. Really excited for this opportunity! Thanks for invaluable resources!
Good luck Ryan, welcome aboard!
Awesome!
I don’t go over the GW often, but I’ll have to keep that trick in mind. That place looks like a nightmare. Def need some patience there
Are your videos copyrighted? I'm developing a CDL course for my company and would like to use them.
I have no problem if you share them and give us credit, but we would have problem if you screen recorded, that's not cool.
@UPS Lawnside Feeders 0819 what if I screen recorded the whole video ensuring your company name and logo are clearly visible. I would never record and not give you credit is that acceptable?
I worked for ups part time in the 90s. Why did they get rid of the pneumatic landing gear on the pups?
Maintenance cost, always breaking
@@UPSLawnsideFeeders thank you!
Do the same thing but this time youre 78 feet long
