As a typical retail investor, I am usually pretty cautious to transfer capital to new platforms but willing to have a paid subscription for a quality signal service. I probably can represent many friends of mine. I think a alert service can quickly expand your customer base which is critical to startups. You can provide some premium features to the investors who fund an account in your platform.

Politicians, when taking oath/office. Should be barred from trading/owning stock, have a fixed income like any regular job, and not be allowed to broker anything with companies at all. I know it's way more complicated than that, but you are a public servant, not someone who needs/is to profit off the American people.
