This lichen can produce a purple pigment if you ferment it in an ammonia water solution for 3 months, thats what i thought you were going to do! Some of your pigments are amazing!

Brava, Ms. Groovy Greens, I've got my Punctilia Lichens steeping for two weeks now (fantastic deep cranberry color!), and will be hunting for some Greenbriar in the coming week. Rock on!

That’s awesome! Hopefully you can find some greenbrier...the colors are lovely! thanks for sticking with me!

'Haven't been out to search the woods and swamps since we last typed at each other...no Greenbriar yet, but I have another question re. the Punctilia: have you ever added this color or any of your other natural tints to a natural glue or adhesive? Projects I'm considering will need to include a glue-lamination of materials and I've had trouble with the glues sealing-out the finish leaving a mottled or unlovely stripey look. A nasty surprise when the piece is nice otherwise. Educational but nasty. And as for sticking with you...You Rock! Better than Mrtha Stewart, even.

I have not yet added pigment to an adhesive, but I feel like if you add powdered, dried pigment to a glue, the color should mix in very well. Perhaps if you tried heating the glue first it may mix better. Just my thoughts :) and thanks!!

Hi Groovy Grace, I enjoyed your informative talk about preparing the Lichen based pigment. I'm hoping to I'll learn something here for creating a natural dye or stain for light-colored woods. hoping for a good purple or red. Also, will you be showing any of your artwork?

Hi jay! I’m so happy that you enjoyed my video! I just recently put out a video on purple dyes extracted from greenbrier, a common thorn bush found throughout North America. And yes! In the upcoming months I will be putting out videos of myself painting with the paints I have made :)
