The hunters hate Crow for what Uldren did, Crow included. Then along comes Cayde giving him the biggest proverbial smack in the head saying "forget what Uldren did and do something with your life". Probably the first step to his path to getting Crow that position. After all, Hunter Vanguard can't be a self pitying mess.
