Heading to Baan Maka in March. Thanks for this video
Aahh man wish I was going wish. It's a hell of a place. Sadly this video I made was before I started doing narration on my videos but it's still relevant today as it was then. I presume you are going into KK park yes?
Aaawww fantastic that's what my videos are all about, info sharing.
Another great series, Shaun! Stuffed with valuable information and wonderful footage. Love it!!!👍
I came back from Mallorca, and saw so many species, thanks to you! Incl. the Cetti's warbler, YEAH!😄👍
Some of the best footage of this species in action on youtube.
Thanks for posting this fabulous video - looking forward to my visit there at the beginning of February next year!
@@thesetter enjoy.
Ive been to Kirstenbosch many times and fortunately I've never seen any snakes.
Ive seen several, there's a pair of breeding Cape Cobras there right now actually.
What a fascinating and beautiful place. Great video Shaun.
Great video Shaun. Takes me back many years to when I was there before the walkway was built. Wonderful birding site.
Cheers mate yeah it's a hell of a place that. Sadly was a bit late in the year to catch the sunbirds in full breeding plumage. They are best in end of winter..
Thanks for the great video! One of my favourite birding spots. I think the Orange-breasted Sunbirds move to higher altitudes at this time of the year. I hiked up Table Mountain via Platteklip Gorge last week and saw TONS of them. Even saw a few on the top.
Ahh of cos thanks...say a few in Greyton so all good.
Wonderful video Shaun. Really enjoyed it. Philip
@Walk-With-Me-Philip thank you very much, I appreciate that.
one of my favourite places to visit when in Cape Town. Thanks for taking me on a walk there. Have a nice one!
@birdocs it's brill isn't it? Love it there.
Wow! Beautiful place! The birds are so pretty!❤❤❤
Good stuff!
Awesome ❤
Really enjoyed this, thanks for sharing.
@@deniscameron3792 thanks glad you enjoyed it.
The Moustached Warbler singing Is actually a Great Reed Warbler. I' m pretty sure. Greeting from Italy.
@@francesco7011 I 100% agree with you. 👍🏼
Great video Shaun.. A good cross section of what the park has to offer.
Awesome video!
So a delightful video to watch! Thank you very much for sharing this!New friend
Black Kites can be seen from time to time flying over the semi-rural areas of Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR skies and along the beachfront promenade as well .
Correct I've been there and seen them there. They are pretty common in the east.
@@sferguk 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks
Ahhh very kind thank you. I really appreciate that.
I really enjoy these step by step birding adventures! Lovely Water Rail photos! Amazing how much wildlife accepts the hubbub of human encroachment.
Hi Shaun, I've never been to Staines Moor. It looks like I need to visit. Great video. You need to buy some Muck boots, which are much better than Wellingtons and will keep your feet warm in winter. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Thanks yeah Muck Boots are what I had previously to these which after 4 years literally fell apart. Sole came right off and cracks everywhere so yeah back to my old 15+ year Dunlops which are as good as the day I bought them. Go figure.
Nice Trilogy mate
Brilliant. It is as though we are birding together, taking in the sights and the birds. Thankfully not too hot for me watching at home in Essex! Your presenting style is relaxed and informative. Thank you.
@@tonycritcher3419 Glad you enjoyed it as much as I did making.
@@sferguk I certainly did, thank you
Thank you for taking me along with you birding.
Well done Shaun. A great addition to the other two vids. Loved the Roller & Monty footage. Congrats
Cheers for that comment.
Was there yesterday. Incredible place! Such a variety in such great numbers with birds at distances which make ID so much easier than anywhere else I’ve been!
Lovely video's, enjoyed all three very much. Looks like another holiday destination for me to follow your foot prints. Great job..
iam going next week 🥰
Take me with you PLEASE!!!!! hahaha Have a fantastic time over there.
Well done Shaun enjoyed all 3 episodes.
Cheers mate next will be a series from SA again.
Piękne, bardzo ciekawe ptaki i wspaniale pokazane 😊 Świetny film 👍 Pozdrawiam 🙂
Aaawww dziękuję bardzo. Doceniam to.
Hi Shaun. Nice video. The Montys at 24m20s has a green coded leg ring. Is it possible to share the date and location? Cheers
@@hugolousa3427 Yeah I saw that too. Almost certainly on the N123 or N122 between the Chapel of the Lady of Aracelis and Mertola BUT where exactly I can't say sorry we saw it and just pulled over to watch it but didn't mark it's exact location. Saw it on 10/07/2024. Hope this helps you.
@@sfergukcould you make out the ring code?
Sorry no way too far away @hugolousa3427
Great vid! lots of awesome birds, I'm a local Aussie making Birding videos but with a more comical approach! I also draw birds for my viewers so if you want to drop a comment of what bird you'd like drawn for you, it will also stay a part of my channel banner as I grow. Keep up the awesome work, Birders gotta stick together!! :)
Thanks yes, that's a fairly old video I made I've come a long way since then .. thank goodness. lol
Cheers Shaun, a well deserved cup of tea on the mound. A great selection of birds encountered and it seems the most abundant, was sedge warbler. Pity you couldn't relocate the lesser whitethroat, but they often only give teasing glimpses, then continue to sing frustratingly close but well hidden. They should learn to do a song flight like their cousins, the common whitethroat and the sedge warbler.
I really like your videos 👍the distant shots of the shearwaters from the beach are good, what camera do you use if you don't mind me asking?
Old Canon 5D with a 100-400mm Canon lens and 1.4x convertor. Thanks for the comments.
@@sferguk oh right OK thanks, I thought it might be a little bridge zoom camera which I think you use on other videos.
@@GM-bq6zo Ah yes no I ent through about 3 or 4 of those little things then someone loaned me this beast. It's heavy as hell but gets the job done I'll soon be upgrading though...so watch this space. lol
Hi Shaun, top job , very enjoyable . just got back from Mallorca , where i followed your video and saw lots of great birds all in the sites you filmed in , had a really good birding time. many thanks 👍
@nicholaswarner5475 excellent glad my video gave you lots of location ideas to visit, well done.
Nice one Shaun. I've been visiting the Algarve since 1981. Quinta do Lago has changed massively over the years. I'm heading off to Sagres in a few weeks. Keep up the videos, they are very enjoyable to watch. All the best
Thanks so much for those kind comments glad you enjoyed them and have fun in Sagres.
Another fascinating video Shaun.👍
Cheers dude.
Did you see any Bee-eaters in Carvoeiro? We saw them almost daily when we vacated there.
@antonygray4114 I did indeed, had a pair literally over the road from where we stayed BUT I couldn't get close enough for a decent shot.
Most enjoyable Shaun nice one
Nice! Hope you don't mind me making some comments. Pallid Swift is more abundant than Pallid in most of the coastal cliffs of the western Algarve. Thekla's Lark is also more numerous than Crested, which is mainly along the coastal parts, Thekla's being the most abundant inland and only at the coast from Lagos to Odeceixe. Short-toed Larks are not so abundant, mainly along sand dune habitats, the biggest population being on the grasslands of the Sagres peninsula, sensu lato. Calandra Lark is extinct in the Algarve since some 3 decades or so, only found in the SPA (ZPE) Castro Verde, where its not so easy especially in the summer as the post-breeding flocks they form are spread far apart. Skylark has its only breeding population in southern Portugal on the Sagres peninsula. I would highly recommend a trip in late spring, when its the best time to find all the breeding species in inland Algarve, many of which are not on the coast (or hardly).
@izavial Amazing info thanks so much it was my first time birding in the Agarve so still very much a newbie there.
Really enjoyed the Africa series :)
Love the Ria formosa nature reserve, go there quite a bit, back there early October. Can't wait
Wow, yet another superb video, together with your amazing tone the videos are really inspiring and can’t wait for more. Greetings from Germany
Thank you very much ... I appreciate that a lot.
Hi Shaun, where do you get the lovely hat which you were wearing?
If you are talking about the wide brimmed hat it's a Tilley hat....they can't be beat!
Amazing Island! Wonderful filming. Thank you.
My pleasure I hope to get back there one day.
Thank You!
This makes me so keen to go back to Portugal! I went during the mid 80s and remember it being incredible...
Dooooo eeeettt you'll love it AND then I'll get to see your video of it too. 🤣🤣😉👍
@@sferguk 😄😄
Finally watched it with my wife. I had a good laugh at the family/wife stuff lol
Yeah I can only grab my birding when my wife takes the leash off hahahaha
