Does your hamster bite.on the cage?

I have my hamster for more than 2 months and she still hates me. I talk to her, feed her, let her feel my scent but nothing. I think our relationship is like a roller coaster. When I think we are closer, we are not. I think she is a kind of a ghost hamster ...

It took my porky Syrian Bella 3 weeks before she'd let me hold her. Now she lets anyone hold her and she doesn't bite. The worst she does is poop and pee on people.

What you need is a tiny whip and a small chair to hold them back with while you tame them... Ok just kidding obviously, I adore the little critters. One thing to think about when you wonder what makes them happy is what they would do most of the time in the wild, exploring, finding new things for the nest or food, having a nice big hoard of food back in the cage, things that by nature they live for.

I've had my syrian hamster for 7 months and he is still shy. He only eats out of my hand and will put his little hand on the palm of my hand sometimes. If I try to pick him up he'll doing a kung fu pose 😅I just let him be lol.

Can I ask how long it took you to get the cage set up before getting her? I would likely to know, realistically, how long it might take to get a cage together. I have a hard time visualizing how to fill a space and how long it might take to fill it, for example it took about 5 years before I got my first apartment (with my kids and no roommates) filled up and feeling homey (part of it was because I wanted our home to be baby safe but it took a couple years of buying and selling furniture to get it set up how we like it 🙂 (and my boys are 8 now so I don't have to worry much about small kids breaking things or jumping/climbing lol)

Omgosh, the clip of her sleeping on the wheel is SO ADORABLE! She must feel safe and happy there.

I wonder, did they give you any of the bedding from her enclosure at the store? I don't have a hammy but I would like to get one some day and I wonder if that would help the transition to the new home easier.

i bought the large nite angel for my new syrian but he gets frequently thrown off or slips off. his plastic 8in wheel he’s able to stay on and keep going. i ordered a medium sized nite angel to see if that helps
