I've never run for office before, but I have run the City of Denver as Mayor Hickenlooper's chief of staff. I'm Kelly Brough, and far-fetched, empty promises won't solve our problems. I'll never promise something I can't deliver. It's why I'm endorsed by Denver police officers, two former police chiefs, Governor Ritter, Wellington and Wilma Webb and so many others. They know that this time, the...

Denver is a city of promise. But not every family has an equal chance to see that promise, as Kelly well knows. When Kelly was just an infant, her father was murdered, leaving her mom to raise two young children in the face of terrible tragedy. Even after her mom later remarried, Kelly’s father was injured and could no longer work, and her family relied on government assistance, including food ...

Kelly's Story

I am running for Denver Mayor, because I truly believe we can restore the promise of Denver for all our residents. I know I am the candidate with the unique combination of life experiences to move Denver forward. I was a single mom, a small business owner, a mediator, chief of staff for Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper, and the first female CEO of the 155-year-old Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce...
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 no
Absolutely not!
why her arms like that
What a tremendous life story. Win or lose in the mayoral election - you have already won with your grit and resilience.
Very happy to hear your commitment to Denver. I look forward to you being our next Mayor.
Aquí puro Culiacán Sinaloa 🇲🇽plebaba 👊
You have my vote at Montana State! GO CATS
I'm putting my trust in you, Kelly . You have my vote 🗳
I enjoyed watching your video, you have such a wonderful story/background. I’ll attend your Coffee event on Friday!😃
How are police allowed to support political action in uniform? Isn't that a violation?
Great video! Well-done!
Kelly's story is inspiring and relatable. She has been through incredible challenges like many of us in society. She doesn't need to sell herself to voters like most politicians. Her resume speaks for itself. She's genuine, a natural leader and her ability to persevere makes her a top contender for Mayor. I want to wish Kelly good luck with her campaign! I'll do my part to research candidates and make an informed decision during the election and I encourage others to do the same.
This is how underhanded Kelly Brough and her campaign are. They send out links to fake public opinion polls in which all of the questions about Mike Johnston are really just attacks on him and the questions about her praise her to the skies. I don't mind an opposing viewpoint. I mind someone trying to trick me using dirty politics.
Everyone always talks about the homeless problem. Why are they homeless? The majority are drug addicts, many have mental issues. Throwing money at it is not going to solve anything. Look at San Francisco. People need healthcare, rehabilitation, education, decent jobs. most of the homeless have zero desire to get better. Not all, but a shocking number prefer to be homeless. To be a drain on society and a burden to those who do their part. For too long now people have run for office to fill their pockets. How is it that a politician makes more than a soldier? Ridiculous salaries, unlimited sick pay, more paid day's off than on, amazing healthcare, pensions... the list goes on and on. You never hear anyone wanting to tackle the real issues. As a Mayor this is beyond your reach. Or is it? I don't mind telling you. There are some pretty disenfranchised people out here Kelly. The lazy and greedy are the only ones who seem to get any help from the government. Free handouts and unrealistic tax cuts. Same as the old boss? I hope not. Hancock was the worst Mayor EVER!!! Lined his pockets, that's all that guy did. He didn't live in a mansion before he got elected.
Very impressive to see all the obstacles Kelly has overcome!
Oh. Hell No
This woman is the most Racist just like trump
What joke campaign ad for Mayor.. Not like she wants to do this $25 hour job full time in Denver.. Everyone knows where she lives, not blue color neighborhood..
Just another dem to further the destruction of Calirado !
Vote Republican so Denver can heal from Democrat policies.
Vote for the candidate who will begin tackling Denver's most pressing issues on day one. I am the only candidate for mayor who has actually managed the city, and I know what we need to get our city working for everyone again.
@@kellybroughformayor 50+ years of Democrat rule and policies have ruined nearly every large metropolitan city in the US. It's time for a fresh start.
How will you structure a system that is structured to absorb the peoples abilities and power. How will you .uild self sufficiency of operation To deal with the city's needs in multiple structural level of government and people
“I’ll always be open to learning…” Kelly Brough - I trust Kelly to lead, listen and learn.
Thank you, Susan! 🤝
We definitely need to get rid of the homeless issue. Public use of drugs 💉 is against the law.
I’m 😮😮😢😢😢😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
Great life story but short on issues we r number one in the nation in car thefts our public schools r a mess the taxes r on property r out of site downtown Denver is vacant and not safe the police department is under staffed as to dangerous of a job and the list goes on if u have any chance “get in the weeds” Thank you
I go into more detail about my plan for community safety on my website. Please check it out and let me know if you have any questions: kellybrough.com/issues
Great platitudes. A lot of good bike enthusiasts running this time (Chris Hansen...). I like that. But what are their positions on the issues? We'll find out. I'm registered as a Dem, but I've had it. I'm tired of being accosted by psychotic meth-freaks on 16th Street (with no security in sight), being terrorized by scooters... Having compassion for humanity is commendable. But what I've noticed is that such a posture generally translates into defunding security, pushing for free camping... I was born here and live downtown. Denver should be a destination -- not only for out-of-towners but for our own suburbanites. I tell them all to stay away. Politicians talk about a safer Denver. Let's see what milk they put on the table. Somehow it always smells sour.
Hi Scott, My safety priorities include strengthening the Denver Police Department, increasing investment in civilian response units and improving the recruiting process and hiring 150 officers we are currently down to meet our authorized strength. With regard to homelessness, I will eliminate unsanctioned encampments within my first year in office, maximize the use of shelters and housing currently available and temporarily move people into sanctioned camping sites until we have built sufficient sheltering and housing capacity. There are more details about my plans here: kellybrough.com/issues. I appreciate and share your concerns for our city.
Sounds good but what are you going to do regarding the homeless downtown. When I moved here-Denver was a beautiful city, but not anymore.
Ugh yes... I suspect she's just like any of the people who run... the ones who actually do happen to have a heart for their city and perhaps do want to do some good (vs the ones who are simply out for power) very quickly get shut down by a very broken system, designed to be that way, run by both corporations and humans at the top who have less than no interest in helping anyone but themselves/their families at the very top of the food chain. Either way... ain't shit gonna happen. But they will tax all of saying it will.... and then it won't. And people will act shocked and outraged like expecting anything more isn't absolutely insane.
She wrote a huge thing on it in a PDF on her campaign page. The actual plan starts a few pages down. It's kind of a multifaceted plan. From my understanding, first she wants to expand existing sanctioned camping area and add a few new ones that are more dispersed as a temporary solution. After, she wants to buy up land that's been used in ways that aren't efficient (single story ground level parking lots, old motels, etc) and either build or convert it into affordable housing so people aren't on the wait-list for years. She plans to fund this by first redistributing the money from the already existing homelessness initiatives. Personal note from me (not her), a lot of that money is being used to line people's pockets rather than going where it's needed. Same thing with the money funding DPS (we have one of the worst school districts in the country). I imagine that she hopes to change that. Also worth noting that she's planning on working with DPS, RTD, and community outreach/nonprofits to figure out how to make the new housing accessible to everyone, especially those without a car. In terms of enforcement, it seems like she wants to increase training of the police force, increase pay (so more people will apply), and add a TON more civilian supports (mental health counselors and such) to relieve some of the pressure on the trained policemen and keep them focused on violent crime mostly
My website details my plans to tackle Denver’s biggest challenges, including homelessness. Please check it out and let me know what you think: kellybrough.com/issues/
I have to say Kelly, I really enjoyed your video. I have lived in Denver for over 40 years, the fact that you are NOT a gives you a huge leg up on the competition. I know many others feel the same. Yes, I will support you by voting but I will also energetically hold you high...Thank you for giving back!!
